posted a message on Need help understanding item sorters?
So I've recently gotten back into the game and am really interested in learning more about redstone, and the item sorter has gotten my attention as a relatively easy project that is very functional. That said, I don't understand how the actual item sorting part "item lock" works. Is it just 21 of the block you want sorted, and the rest junk? Also, is it possible to add multiple items to be filtered to each chest? For example Oak logs, planks, slabs, and stairs?

Alright I've done a little search, and came across this on the FTB forum and it worked for me so I thought I'd repost.

1.) Open up your graphics card control panel.
2.) Now, in your panel, go to 3D Settings.
3.) Then make sure you are on the 'Global Settings' Tab.
    -
Now turn 'Threaded Optimization' or 'OpenGL Optimization' to off.
Then turn 'Vertical Sync' to on.

I've recently gotten back into this game and Installed Forge and Optifine (yes I downloaded the Forge compatible Optifine). After getting all my settings configured I'm having issues with the world glitching out. Here are a couple of clips I captured with fraps. For some odd reason fraps made these glitches occur what felt less often on my server, but more often in SSP. The clip in the farm is SMP, When I'm building the potion room is SSP.

Also, I figured it may help if I include my optionsof:

posted a message on $400 office PC build
My brothers PC crapped out (I think the PSU went, the PC was shooting smoke) and unfortunately I think it took the RAM DIMMs with it so I doubt I'll be replacing those. We have two options- Buy a prebuilt machine or have me build one. I've built a PC before so that isn't an issue.

The budget is $350-400, and we need everything except for a HDD. I was thinking about buying this combo and a case and we'd be set, but I'm open to suggestions. http://www.newegg.co...t=Combo.1325336

Oh it is survival, but like I said it is for a small group of friends. Not only that but the hosters upload speed is hardly sufficient for the amount of people we have now.

Nothing has been started yet, we're doing this all by hand (small server of just friends). We're planning a city though.

Do not worry, I did try it and it worked. Although you may say this seems small it cut our map size from 85 to 50 megabytes easily. all the deleted space was completely unneccesary for 5 people.

I guess I can just give it a shot. To any moderators who stumble by, could you please move it to the third party tools sub-forum?

Im not so sure I asked this question correctly. I'm saying if I deleted those chunks if they were to be rendered egain would they be recreated again the same way?

Hello everybody, I have a simple question regarding MCEdit. If I were to prune some chunks off would those chunks come back the same way if they were rerendered if someone were to explore their way again?

Could it possibly have something to do with the huge lighting overhaul in the game?...

Well I don't think sunlight was redone?

I didn't realize it was done. although that mod probably doesn't work in SMP... I'm too lazy to read it haha :wink.gif: What I'm looking for wouldn't be as complex, just individual faces of the block.

Not sure this is possible with the way blocks are currently done, it could need a major change to the code to accommodate this, which pushes this to the point of very unlikely. I get what you mean and it would be nice, but I don't see it happening.

Me either, if possible it would need to be rather complex, probably. One way I can see it being done would be the same way as wool color works: Damage. lets say 0 Damage is all sides plain, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, and 6x would indicate which face of the block and x1-9 would indicate color?

Now, I don't know about everybody else, but I find myself stuck in a rut where I can't truly get the design I've wanted because lets say an exterior would be one color, and the interior another. This could be solved with things like vertical half blocks, and more half blocks, but I thought it would be interesting if we could craft paint from dyes, add the dyes to lets say a bucket of water, and then have paint. then we could craft paintbrushes with a stick and string or something similar. It would be cool if it allowed us to paint individual surfaces of a block. One thing that would have to be considered is which blocks can be painted. I'd say only wood can be painted, because there wouldn't be much use for other blocks.

I kind of doubt this would be possible, but one can wish?

What do you all think about this? (if you could understand it :tongue.gif:)
