Since this mod inspired me to read up on Druid lore, I came up with some ideas that are in line with its theme. I'd do it myself but my modding skills are so bad I'd probably set my laptop on fire just from attempting this. Anyways, just wanted to share my ideas:

    - Raven - seen as a messenger between worlds. Therefore it will occasionally spawn from a Nether Portal. Killing one is bad luck (you lose hearts when you hit one). However, it will sometimes drop black feathers on their own. The feathers are infused with glowstone (imagine the glowstone dust from the Nether getting naturally caught up in them) that can be used to craft a "raven's lantern".

    - Raven's Feather - Can only be obtained by raven's shedding them. Killing them will not result in obtaining a feather, nor meat. This is because they are magical creatures and it is bad luck to kill them.

    - Raven's Lantern - Crafted with 4 raven's feathers in a diamond shape. Creates a black, feathery sphere that emits light at the level of glowstone.

    - Raven's Rope - Crafted with 3 raven's feathers, placed vertically on a crafting table. Provides 3 1-block tall ropes. These ropes are thin and black, can be attached to solid objects from below to be used to hang Raven's Lanterns.

That's really really cool that our mod inspired you to read up on Druid lore! =) and yeah, these ideas are awesome, I'm definitely going to put these on to the todo list and maybe we'll eventually get to them, thank you. I've definitely wanted ravens for a while I think and these are great to go along with them.

I've added Druidry to my personal 1.7.10 mod pack and so far, I really love it! No longer do I have to worry about crafting all my wooden planks into sticks on accident since I now have a near endless supply of them, and the Alex zombies look great! I also stumbled across a Unicorn and squealed with delight when I did. It's labeled as a horse when I hover over it, but are they capable of breeding with Minecraft horses?

Also, I have discovered the Fay Wand. That thing is too much power for a cat lover to have, so after nearly crashing my game from overusing it, it has been safely put away in its own chest.

Anyway, I love the mod so far, and I really hope to see you continue to do an awesome job! I'd love to see more! :)

Hey! Thank you for enjoying the mod. Unicorns don't seem to be able to breed with vanilla horses after testing. lol, the Fay Wand is basically my favorite item >.>

I should probably report here that feeding chickens does not cause them to drop feathers, as the re-added features list suggests. Other than that, I've been wanting to try out this mod for a long time and finally got around to it tonight. Loving it so far.

Hmm, we will look into that, thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the mod!

I really like this mod; it's nice to see something that isn't post-endgame and is well-integrated with itself. :-)

That said, I am using it with a bunch of other mods, and I was wondering if there was a way to turn off just one recipe in the crafting. The fried egg recipe overrides Eggy Goodness, which uses a straight cooked egg as the basis for several other recipes. :-(

Thanks! Yeah we've seen a few Minetweaker files that disable that too, lots of mods seem to do that already! We can look into adding an official config option.

Seeing an odd issue. Running version druidry(2016.9.26)(1.9.4).jar on a 1.10.2 Forge Server (forge version 1.10.2-12.18.-2114) and it seems to break the /help command on the server. The client /help works fine, but on the server it is generating a class cast exception:

This includes HelpFixer-1.10.2-1.4.15, not sure if that is the cause, but without helpfixer other mods are broken.

That's weird! We will look into this issue too, thanks for the report.

    This mod seems quite amazing, i definitely see myself playing with it in the future. I really love naturey mods >///.///< and want to stream it ^^;

I kind of see this mod having a lot of naturey aestetics pieces like fireflies in a jar, oil lanterns, flowery vines, maybe thats just me. I noticed some items from the mod spawn in swamp biomes, i was wondering if the mod would generate these items in mods that add biomes like biomes o plenty's lush swamp or if i would have to specifically hunt down a vanilla swamp to get those items if i had both mods installed.

Sorry I am posting so much, i just stumbled upon it at 2am ^^; today and couldn't help myself

Thanks! Let us know when you stream it, we would love to watch you play with our mod sometime =)

Those ideas are absolutely adorable, they'd be super fun to have in the mod sometime! I'll add them to my notes. From a quick bit of testing mallow seeds don't seem to drop in the BoP biomes yet. Since searching for a vanilla biome might take a while, you can build a portal out of lit jack o lanterns and light it with faerie dust to get to a vanilla swamp that drops the mallow seeds! (you'll have to place some blocks for the pumpkins on the top to sit on and then break the blocks underneath to get the pumpkins to float!)

and lol, no worries about saying too much or anything. Thanks for posting, we appreciate it!

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm doing this wrong, but flint axes appear to be uncraftable for me. I can spawn one in just fine, but with or without a workbench, I can't get one legitimately. Otherwise this is a pretty fun and bug free mod.

    I'm using the 1.10 version.

Here's a picture of the recipe, hopefully this helps. =)

I'm not sure what the issue is if that recipe doesn't work though and we can look into it.

We have a list of all the recipes here too, if anyone wants to check that out.

    Hello, RamonaSkye

I have read your legal information. I do not know if i need to ask for permission or not for use of your mod in the modpack i am building. The modpack is named Retrobutioncraft. I am currently trying to build this modpack up for 1.10 to get it submitted into FTB third party packs. Please let me know if i can use this mod in my pack.

    Best regards,

    Lordozey

That's cool, you have permission to use Druidry in the modpack! Good luck with it and let us know when its out!

What is this?, minecraft pacifist route? lol.

PS. I'll give it a try, nice mod :3

lol, in a way, yeah it is!

Delightful videos you have by the way, they're very nice to listen to. I like that they're not super short or anything, I prefer longer videos! =)

This looks like a fun and interesting Magic/Early game survival mod. I'll definitely be trying it out and keeping an eye out on its progress. Bloody love Magic mods and I hope to see you in later versions of Minecraft as well. I'm glad you started on 1.7.10 though.

thanks! I hope you'll enjoy what we have in store for future updates!

and yay, thank you both so much for trying the mod out! Please let us know what you think. <3

    Pictures

    Introduction

Druidry is a simple nature based mod that adds more early game variety, with a touch of magic. There are new things to explore and see, with extra world gen and some new monsters. You can decorate with the new blocks and items, there's more flowers and trees then before. There are new ways to take care of your animals, they'll even heal a little after being fed. You can get by with a lot less mining and killing then before.

We've tried to make the mod immersive and pleasant. You can do many early game tasks more easily but we've also worked to strike a balance so nothing will be just handed to you. That said, a starting guide to Druidry is now just handed to you! If you're already curious, skip the rest of this post and check it out now! With Not Enough Items installed and the in-game book, you should be able to get pretty far on your own without spoiling anything exciting.

    Getting Started

Druidry was designed to be easy to get into, you'll find many new options for how to spend your first few days. Instead of the usual punching down trees and slaughtering pigs for bacon routine, you can rummage through trees for goodies. You'll find saplings, sticks, and even get apples to eat (if you're searching oak leaves).

Punching down trees is not only silly but it's now entirely avoidable. You can make your first axe using sticks and flint now. No crafting table required! It's a great way to defend yourself against monsters too.

For some more day-one food ideas, try out roasting seeds or cooking eggs. You can use wooden bowls to milk cows with, and even make edible cheeses from the milk. Living off the land while taking care of some animals is now much more fun and rewarding.

You don't have to slaughter sheep or look for iron either to make a bed. You can collect enough spider string to make a bed early on from offering a spider something to snack on. They don't just eat adventurers anymore! They're happy with a few new things, I recommend giving them an egg.

Once you've settled down and are happy with your new home, try finding one of the new trees and rummage for tea leaves. Making tea is easy and can be fun to add extra little ingredients to for flavor.

When you're more established, you can try defending your base with some of the new blocks and items we've created. Scarecrows can distract monsters while you work outside, there's even grass that hurts enemies who walk over. Some of the new blocks give off light if you're tired of your front yard being a sea of torches.

If you get the itch for adventure you can even just take a walk, maybe you'll discover one of the secret surprises we've made for you.

    Features

This feature list is for the 1.7.10 version of Druidry, 1.9/1.10 users check the post here for the current features in those versions!

You can look at the comprehensive feature list for the 1.7.10 version on the Druidry subreddit.

Easy to get started - If you read through the in-game intro guide and have Not Enough Items installed, you'll be pretty much ready to go.

Rummaging - You can hit leaves with your bare hand and they'll convert to a rummaged leaf that grows back into a nice healthy leaf block after a while. Rummaged leaves will drop stuff like sticks (stack of sticks is half decent furnace fuel, or build fences and ladders without annihilating half your nearby forests) and saplings. Oaks even drop apples!

More ways to obtain things - Less need to murder your way to the top! You can obtain black dye from flowers. Feeding chickens now causes them to drop feathers for you to use. Similarly, spiders will be happy to trade string for a snack.

More world gen variety - New flowers, trees, monsters, unicorns, and other surprises await for you to discover!

New foods - We have fun new cakes and cookies, now even spider legs (yucky!)

New ways to decorate - Scarecrows, torch free light sources, not just flowers! But I mean, definitely flowers too.

Indoor farming - Did you ever want to grow food in your kitchen? Well, I did, and now we have a garden pot just for that.

Home defenses - Not a lot to choose from yet, but there is that grass that hurts monsters. It gives off light too.

Silly Achievements - Maybe.. don't earn these.

New dimensions - Definitely still a WIP, but check them out tell us what you think.

Exclamation marks! - Mod is still being developed and has many surprises to come, so much to get excited about!
