    Quote from KyoFetus»

So I built my house into the side of a cliff/hill

at the top of the hill I spawned a village with Minecraft Comes Alive and grossly misjudged the size of the village. somewh

Now above my house is a very large overhang that blots out the sun and keeps mobs from dying in the sunlight.

I've tried removing some of the edge of the village but the overhang still persists and still keeps my house dark.

I extended my entry but even so the space behind it is still dark and I am in danger...

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I thought about putting torches up but I don't know if that would stop the mobs from sticking around...

    Move to a new house.

I'm not experienced with roleplaying on this forum, nor do I agree with the commonly used method, where the creator has ultimate power over the roleplayers, and they just have to put up with it. I've experienced a different type of roleplaying on another forum, one that I'm going to share with the rest of you.

It's the simplest kind you could imagine. First off, everyone has equal power. There is no GM. Anyone can guide the plot in whatever way they want. And-most importantly-powerplaying can be a thing. Well, not the kind of powerplaying like,"Katniss shot an arrow at District 1 boy, killing him." That still has to be,"Katniss shot an arrow at District 1 boy, if he didn't dodge it it would surely kill him." But what I'm saying is, you can make other people's characters do something or say something. But if the person who a character belongs to doesn't like something you made him/her say or do, you have to change it. And nothing big. That's still forbidden.

So that's MY way of roleplaying. Just throwing it out there.

I know how you feel. I spend time writing chapters. I've made three stories so far. UHshe failed. The Survival Games seems to have failed. The Edge of Minecraft.... Well, I'm going to keep working on that, but it seems to have failed. People only read a few stories. Those are the ones like The Slaves of the Desert Mine, which is always on the front page. The rest of the stories get forgotten. It's like the Roleplaying section. There are a couple RPs that are insanely active, and the others just get ignored. Because people want to be a part of the popular ones. Not the ones that need your attention, because nobody else is giving any.

    It's sad, really.

So, this is based off of the popular series The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, only set in Minecraft. Instead of fighting, you mine and explore. Hower, there are other people, and there's still a fighting aspect. People will fight and kill each other. Of course, people can respawn, so the risk isn't as high, but this can drive some people insane. This is set from the point of view of the girl from District 1. P.S. It is not square.

    Chapter 1

Reaping day. This was it. I was both excited and scared. Excited because I was a survivalist, and I felt that I could win. Scared because if I participated, I might go insane from it all. That happened to a good amount of tributes. But I knew in my heart, if I wasn't picked, I was going to run up on that stage and volunteer, no matter what the risk.

"Hey, lazybones. Wake up!" My sixteen year old sister, Piper, walked into my room. "It's reaping day, and sure as heck you don't want to miss my moment."

"YOUR moment? Please. Like I'm not going to volunteer." I scoffed.

"Girl, you can mine, but you can't do much with a sword except kill animals. And you need to be good at PvP to win."

Piper had never seen me with a bow. And she hadn't seen me in combat practice since I was ten. And I was fourteen now. I was much better at combat than I'd been before. Besides, she had two more years. Two more years to volunteer. "I don't care what you think; I will get into the Games and I will make all of District 1 proud."

    "We'll see." She smirked.

I rolled my eyes and walked into the kitchen, hungry. Fear was creating all sorts of imaginary scenarios of what could happen, but I pushed them to the back of my mind. Mom was sitting at the table, a big smile on her face. "I just know your sister will get into the Games this year!"

    "Her? What about me?"

"Don't be silly, you can't swing a sword without stabbing yourself!" Mom's words stung. They'd been true four years ago, but not now. Now I was a skilled fighter, and if she ever saw me using a bow, she'd think diifferently of me.

I grabbed a slice of bread from the fridge, not that hungry anymore. Instead, I headed for the living room, where my dad was. Dad would support me. Through all those years, he'd coached me through combat. He would have taught me with a bow, but after a few lessons it was clear I didn't need lessons.

"Good morning, Alyssa! Are you excited for reaping day?" Dad asked.

I sat on the couch beside him. "Excited and scared. We'e both seen what happens to some of the participants."

"Yes. But if you get in, I know that you'll be able to show every person in every other district what you're made of, and you. Will. Win."

"There's always the plan to charm all the boys with my dazzling good looks. Oh wait, no, that plan was formulated for if I HAD any good looks." I joked.

Okay, telling you about the time I spent at home is getting boring.

    TIME SKIP

The four of us stood in the crowd, looking up at the stage. Effie Trinket stood there. "Welcome to the 54th Annual Survival Games!" She said a bunch of stuff that I tuned out of. Then it was time. "As always, ladies first!" She reached into the bowl, and I almost fainted when I heard the results. It wasn't Piper. It wasn't my best friend, Kara.

    "Alyssa Jenson."

A wild chapter teaser appears! Sorry for double posting, but I must have, like, quadruple-posted in UHshe and nobody batted an eye.

I was still for a moment. Alyssa Jenson! That was ME! I'd been picked! I ran for the stage, but I saw Piper going towards it as well. I ran to her and grabbed her hand. "NO!" I yelled. "You will NOT volunteer for me. This is MY year. Not yours. You can volunteer next year. This year, let me go. Okay?" And with that, I headed to the stage, leaving Piper still and speechless.

"What was that we had there? Some sibling rivalry?" Effie asked me.

"My sister tried to volunteer for me. And not to save me from possible insanity, but because she wanted to go instead of me." I gritted my teeth.

"Well, on to the boys!" Effie pulled out a piece of paper and read it. Oh no. Not him!

    "Gary Miller."
