posted a message on What language next?
C# has automatic garbage collection just as well as Java. You can invoke the garbage collector to collect, but that comes with other issues. I'm just getting into C/C++ and I feel a good amount of control over how memory is handle with these two languages.

1) Use the keypad to manage views.
Num 0 - Active Camera View
Ctrl-Num 0 - Set Active Camera
Num 1 - Front View
Ctrl-Num 1 - Back View
Num 3 - Right View
Num 7 - Top View

You kind of get the idea. When using ctrl in combination it gives the opposite view of the associated view. The even numbered keys rotates the view.

2) Generally I use the shortcut 'i' to insert keyframes and you can choose between loc, rot, scale, or all of them.

3) I believe you can delete it by checking the DopeSheet. You can switch to the DopeSheet by clicking on the drop-down list which controls windows.

I say just jump into it and slowly work at it. Don't be overly ambitious and trying to create something really amazing. Start small and use reference images, Blender will allow you to set background images to see as you model. I'm also currently taking a college course that is an introduction to Blender, I could send you some of the practices/homework we have, if you're interested.

Source is nice and all with mods and better graphics, but 1.6 was fun for being competitive. I play Source just to mess around; jailbreak, zombies, surf, etc.

posted a message on Misconceptions and Preconceived Ideas
I'm compiling together various forms of expression of the general idea of misconceptions and preconceived ideas for my college project. This ranges from music, videos, images, personal experience, and so on. I wanted to gather some more ideas from this community and their thoughts on this notion.

The song is a good portrayal of this notion, but I don't want to limit it to this. I want aspects of other stereotypes or prejudices.

If you have anything you want to share about this topic please do so below. Personal experiences would be nice to have if you feel comfortable sharing. And by any chance does anyone know any other songs or artist that relate to Same Love?

Seems like after colliding with the paddle at the top, you're setting the location of it to some value. The issue seems with how your ball returns or bounces. Maybe your code could shed some light on how you're approaching this.

Quote from starfox1o1

No not any problems just kind've buggy when some intersects happen. (i.e. when the ball hits the top of the paddle in my pong game it shoots through the bottom of the pong and out towards the other pong.)

Can you give me an example of setting the variable?

You mean something like this?

Paddle
o

Then this happens?

Paddle

<--o

With the integer score declared before this. You would reference the object of the class and make a call to this property to modify it.
public class ScoreKeeper
{
int score;
public int Score
{
get { return score; }
set { score = value; }
}
}

On the other hand you could declare score and keep track of it. Then when you need to update it you could say DisplayScore(score) and use it in an argument in this case.

I set the resolution of the game in the Initialize() method in the Game1.cs. This could change depending on if you were to read from an outside file to get the resolution, but I have it initialized to this resolution and later on change it accordingly.
protected override void Initialize()
{
this.graphics.PreferredBackBufferWidth = 800;
this.graphics.PreferredBackBufferHeight = 480;
this.graphics.ApplyChanges();
base.Initialize();
}

Are you having a problem using the Intersects() method or does it just not meet your needs?

I generally declare the variable where it is needed and pass it through as an argument. Depending on the needs of the projects I would have a section for it in the properties fields to get and set score.

It was a modeling error! There were two faces intersecting.
I don't exactly like smooth shading for this project. I feel flat shading makes it more appealing.
Yes, a lot better. When I first rendered it, I was amazed. Thank you very much for that tip!
