I have decided to carry on with this prodject regardless. i will have finished the map well before the other guy. I have completed the basic structures of 15% of the entire map.. After i have done this then i will work on the finer details of the map.
I will be posting screen shots over this weekend of my progress so far. It looks good, real good especially when you play GTA:SA along side minecraft.
I have just completed the entire dock area of Los Santos, including the Cargo boat that sits along side the dock. And it looks AMAZING!! All details have been completed, 100% to scale, it looks brilliant.
Ive had a bit of a problem with part of a chunk completely disapering
i have tried closing and reloading minecraft, but it has saved like this. Any idea what has happened? i was using vanilla minecraft with no mods installed, as i have only just upgraded to 1.4.5.
Looking up out of the hole
Looking down the hole.... as you can see the is still a layer at the bottom. I really dont know what happened?
Hi there.
Thank you for your suggestions, I am already using single player commands quite a lot now. I'm getting quite good at it. And the custom NPC's mod, that sounds really interesting. I will probably implement it into the map, but only after the map has been finished. Or at least one city is 100% complete
Thank you guys
If you have any other ideas, please tell me
And by the way ........ The map is looking ace! I might do a video of the work i have done so far and upload it to YouTube. Any thoughts on this?
New update pictures.
Have not spent much time on this last few weeks... but i am not going to give up. As i ahve said it will take me years to finish this.
Looks amazing already! Maybe add the most recent images to the main thread so people can see it straight away. If you want I can make you a signature for the project, I think it deserves a lot more attention
Anyway best of luck for the rest of the build
It is looking ace so far what I've done, screenshots will be posted in a few days when I get some free time.
I'm also thinking about opening this as a server, but I don't have much experience in that, do I need to do some research first. Obviously in a little worried about greifers getting on and destroying it
Please put me out of my misery. Would the mapping program work on other games? I'm really interested to know if it would work on grand theft auto San Andreas. Please private message me or leave a comment on here. I don't mind making a donation to you for the privalige of using your program.
Very well done on everything you have done heremon this build. I am especially Impressed with your handmade java program to convert the WOW map files. I am currently creating a grand theft auto map of San Andreas and about 5 % complet. It is all 1 to 1 scale ratio. Check out my thread about the build. Would it be Possible to use your mapping software on gta files, if so could you please send me a copy and a short explanation on how to use it, it would made my file so much easier. I dont mind sending you a donation via paypal for the privalige of using it. I don't believe I will need to change the map height limit.
I really don't want to place this up as a server, I know a lot of trolls would love to rip this place apart. I will complete by myself and maybe accept help to create the adventure aspect of it. Plus I really don't know anyone well enough to ask for there help in the minecraft community yet
Here's a craaazyyy and stupid idea: add mob spawners inside some houses at enemy factions. You could put wolves as Groove Street, so you can "team up" with them and they will attack the enemies.
I might do something like this once the map is complete
