Interesting idea, terrible execution; this mod was basically made to make an unrealistic game, even more unrealistic. The functionality in this mod pretty much sounds like the creature took features that he thought sounded stupid, and removed them, and thus replaced them with features, that are even dumber. A failed attempt to remake the game, probably out of spite, and how the game should run. All in all, a mod that has less use than IC2.
Well Flowerchild has stated on multiple occasions realism for realism sake is not a design goal and can often be a liability so you are descriptively wrong there. For example gearboxes need to have atleast 1 block between them that's an axle. Why is this when in reality gears can be directly connected to each other. As he states it's to place constraints on building and design. This demands a bit more thought when you construct your power exchange system and requires you to sink a bit of your own design philosophy into it's construction making it feel like you had a significant role in its' production. Much of what this mod offers is to give you an actual reason to automate becuase in vanilla there is no real reason to automate. In addition there are many early game additions that make survival a much greater chore and more rewarding when you realize how secure you've become when you have a mob trap feeding you endless iron, a cow farm provisioning you unlimited leather and beef and a crucible for renewing your tools.
In vanilla if you want feathers you just breed chickens and jump into a pen and slaughter them. in btw you actually need to construct some artifice that feeds adn collects, hatches, incubates and then
infects chickens only so they detonate (not very realistic) with soul energy.
Could you really say jumping into a animal pen and madly swinging your sword about to harvest animal products is a good design concept?
You've not really cited anything specifically you have a problem with this mod, maybe you cannot?
