I encountered this exact same problem, although mine did not work in the alphas/betas either. I resolved this in my case by turning "Advanced OpenGL" to off. I realize that's not ideal, but at least that should let you start playing again.
Interesting fact that the Light version works with Advanced OpenGL as "ON". Although if I recall, standard and ultra versions OpenGL functions are Off, Fast and Fancy. Might be a start point for the development guys
HD C1 Ultra, HD B3 Ultra, HD A7 Ultra and HD B3 Standard freezing and crashing with Mac OS 10.8.3.
Installed them using MCPatcher through a clean jar. The game loads, but a few seconds after loading some chunks the game freezes. It's like the FPS was at 0.1, because the screen updates on every 10 seconds or so.
I was using HD A7 Ultra until yesterday with Mac OS 10.8.2 perfectly fine, and I had the problems with the same exact jar after updating my system.
I'm using MagicLauncher, and I've tried installing LiteLoader in numerous different ways (including the way it says to install it on this post), and I've also tried installing the Macro Keybind mod itself numerous different ways (again, including the way it says on this post). I have also tried working it with the standard Minecraft Launcher, but that doesn't work either.
Is there any way to install this with MagicLauncher? I need help, please.
Does your screen freezes on the Mojang logo? If so, I'm having the same problem :/
Many people? I don't think anyone has reported problems with the 1.4 release other than small bugs, which have been fixed. Anyway, to your problem. Does the config file for the mod get generated? If so you could try enabling compatible mode in the config file to see whether it's a problem with the JInput system. Also check the liteloader.txt file for any clues.
No file is created for the Macro mod, just liteloader.txt with the following content:
2012-11-01 05:32:21 [INFO] Liteloader 1.4.2 starting up...
2012-11-01 05:32:21 [INFO] Mods folder found, searching /Users/rafa/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods
2012-11-01 05:32:21 [INFO] Found 1 mod file(s)
2012-11-01 05:32:21 [INFO] Loading mods from class path
I also tried to delete all the related files from the previous versions, but nothing changed.

I guess so, I've been following the same procedure for months to install all the mods I use (not many) and never had problems with any of them. =/

The version B1 Light works fine though.
Java version: 1.7.0_07, 64 bits.
Thanks in advance.

Please announce LiteLoader is not compatible with the OSX version of MagicLauncher.

That's exactly what I do and the game doesn't load. It freezes on Mojang Logo's screen.
