Here is the link to my mod list and the config file for Nether Ores as well as the config files for the COFH world gen in case those are relevant.

It's just a direct link to a zip file containing my list in png format and the 3 configs. Thank you for taking the time to take a look and I appreciate it.

    https://rapidgrab.net/cloud/EXU085UNcj8v8AV/Nether ores forum.zip

I'm not familiar with a lot of these mods and their worldgen, so I'm going to suggest a few things I would do to verify the quartz isn't being misplaced during worldgen because of NetherOres.

    First, change this:

    # If true, Nether Quartz ore will be a NetherOre and will follow the same rules as all other NetherOres.

    B:OverrideNetherQuartz=true

    to this:

    # If true, Nether Quartz ore will be a NetherOre and will follow the same rules as all other NetherOres.

    B:OverrideNetherQuartz=false

If you spawn a new world in Creative and still can't find Nether Quartz, we can rule that out. I'm going to research the other mods in the meanwhile in case the answer is there.

I'm finding a lot of iron deposits. I've found lapis, diamond, even a bunch of endumium... but strangely I haven't seen any coal yet. Is that normal? I also keep finding these veins of vanilla stone amidst the UBC stone. I don't mind since a handful of recipes will only take vanilla stone, but it seems odd.

Anyone have an idea about the nether quartz not generating

Post a full mod list with version numbers and a copy of your config files. Without more information, I don't think anyone can help determine what's wrong.

We use the Forge biome dictionary, so all biome mods are implicitly supported.

Okay, I gave the mod another try and haven't done much exploring... but this is the first time I've ever even seen apatite ore. If silicon and aluminum show up, I'm a happy camper. :) I don't suppose there's a way to integrate COG into an existing world, is there?

I only saw Micdoodle core... did you download the other two files? I'm pretty sure Planets is optional, but Galacticraft and Core are essential. Also make sure the version number matches on all the files you downloaded from the site.

COG and UBC are compatible; I use both.

For mystcraft, I have to tell UBC not to UBC-ify ores, or else mystcraft does not see any ores, no matter what (and makes all worlds with basically no instability).
Most, but not all COG ore deposits will be UBC'ified correctly.

What about Biomes O Plenty? I notice a lot of veins are supposed to spawn more frequently in certain biomes, wanted to make sure that's also true of BOP biomes.

    Quote from Crudedragos»

I don't have time to look into it this weekend but it doesn't look like a config issue. The error seems to be a compatibility issue caused by an entity registered on the server to not be able to be instantiated during server start. not spawing, but JAS creates an instance of the entity to inspect its type/spawn properties.

Shinoow has confirmed that it's an ID conflict between Abyssalcraft and Thaumcraft, which he's going to sort out in a later version of Abyssalcraft. Can't tell you how relieved I was that I didn't have to redo all my configs for JAS.

Hey where i can talk to the Galacticraft creator? i got some mod skills wanna offer help, also i want to know about MattCore and the other planets, like Venus; will the 4-space Mod merge with galacticraft OR galacticraft will add its own Venus and other bodies Matt already made?

There's a forum at the mod's site that might help you find what you need. I think there's even a thread for people offering to help code.

    Quote from Zeno410»
Is this 1.6.4 or 1.7.x? In 1.7.x the block IDs aren't fixed and are different from world to world. The block names are:

    UndergroundBiomes:igneousStone

    UndergroundBiomes:metamorphicStone

    UndergroundBiomes:sedimentaryStone

Generally it means the other mod isn't doing the Forge-proper ore replacement check. It's a very easy fix; they just need to replace "=Block.STONE" with "isReplaceableOreGen(parameters) = true".

    1.7.x

That's likely the case with Abyssalcraft. Not sure if that's what's happening with Galacticraft, Forestry, and Railcraft--seems unlikely that IC2 coded that correctly and Forestry didn't if they're both being worked on by the same team. Still, I should look into it.

If I use those names in the JSON files I have to create for CoFH OreGen(as shown here), will that work? I'm slightly fuzzy on coding and have only worked with JSON in Just Another Spawner config.

    Hi,

I've tried a clean install of PowerCrystals core 1.1.8-9 and MineFactoryReloaded 2.7.9-final on forge 6.4.49.965. (All for minecraft 1.6.4)

When ever I try to launch, it stops responding right after the console says:

[INFO] [ForgeModLoader] An updated version of Minefactory Reloaded is available: 2.8.0RC3.

[INFO] [ForgeModLoader] This update is for Minecraft 1.7.10.

Can anyone help me? It installed fine on my comptuer, but I'm trying to install it on someone elses computer now and it wont work.

Without seeing the actual game output log, it's hard to be sure... but I noticed you didn't mention the CoFH Core mod, which the other two require. Are you using the 1.6.4 version of that? (Disclaimer: I've only ever worked with 1.7.10)

I really love this mod, but it's causing some issues with ore generation in mods that only replace vanilla stone(at least, I think that's the issue with Galacticraft, Foresty and a few others). CoFH Core has it's own ore generation, and I'm looking into using that to solve the issue, but I don't know to find out the block IDs for all the different stones added by UBC so they can be whitelisted. Is there a list of them somewhere, or a mod that will reveal a block's ID?

After trying to track down issues with ore generation from certain mods, I'm thinking the reason I could never get CustomOreGen to work properly has something to do with Underground Biome Constructs. I've noticed certain mods have no trouble generating their ores, but others seem wholly dependent on Vanilla stone to spawn(which UBC removes). Am I way off? Is CustomOreGen compatible with Underground Biomes Constructs?

I am using nether ores for MC version 1.7.10 and I am not getting ANY nether quartz, which is very important for Applied Energistics 2. I tried looking for a config but I cant' find it.

Any advice? It's kind of holding back the players on my server.

It drops as a block by default, I noticed a lot of it spawning, but I almost ignored it after mining because it didn't drop the quartz.

This is, more or less, the mods I'm currently using: http://pastebin.com/gam22ExF

i can't figure out why some ores have no trouble spawning(Harvestcraft salt, Farlander gems, even Biomes O Plenty precious stones), but all the ores generated by certain mods--Railcraft and Galacticraft in particular--just don't spawn. I've tried Custom Ore Generator, and it seems to do nothing or make things worse. has anyone had and solved a similar issue?

Okay, weird recurring error that may or may not be related to another mod. When I try to update to the latest version of Abyssalcraft, JAS throws an error and sends me back to the main menu. It doesn't generate a crash report, but I was able to get this from Game Output by forcing Java to quit: http://pastebin.com/ufnmMMPY

I'm going to try deleting some of my configs and starting from scratch. Seems darned weird that these configs work fine whether I add more mods or not, but if I try to update Abyssalcraft, the same error every time.

Here are the JAS configs I was using in case the issue is here.
