    It looks like Thaumcraft.cfg provides configuration for the enchantment IDs it uses, I changed those and was able to successfully start the server with no more exceptions being thrown. Now to see if everything works.

    Sweet! Make sure and post in Abyssalcraft's thread. I don't think Shinoow knows that's an easy workaround.

    I haven't tried the newest version yet, but I wanted to post some feedback after using it a while in a survival world. It's a great mod, loving the overall goal of easily crafted micro-tools and more durable macro tools. If I had one nitpick, it would be that so many planks get generated and seldom used. If you need planks in a pinch, it's easy to get a lot of them, but so few get used that I have stacks at home and no way to even burn them as fuel after crafting tools while exploring. Complex recipes that take only four crafting squares are good--love the addition of the boat halves--but you have to craft planks to make a boat floor to make half the boat... so I end up hauling around a stack of those small planks just to craft half the boat, but it's only used for a component in half of the boat. Seems slightly unwieldy. I'm sure there are issues with how many recipes you can't feasibly make out of the smaller crafting square, so if this is the best we can hope for as four-square boat options go, I totally get it.

    Random idea for future micro option: a way of cooking food without a furnace. It would be a lot of work to implement, but maybe some recipes involving the tiny planks and a flint/steel that turn a piece of raw meat into cooked meat, simulating campfire? It would be costly using up a flint and steel each time, but worth it if you run out of food and don't want to build a furnace just to cook the cow you found.

    EDIT: Sidenote, and along the lines of the boots issue you fixed, I keep finding berry seeds in dungeon chests. I'm not sure it's necessary to add them as treasure when they're so easily found growing in most biomes. Whatever weight you've given them, they're more common in chests than pumpkin seeds(and less rare on the surface). Probably worth a look.

    Yep, first time I got one, it was the basic one I was missing. Unfortunately it doesn't do much. I think there's a conflict in my key binding or something. The arrow keys have never worked for me with any mod--Doggy Talents uses them and I could never get that to work fully either. Might be due to using a controller for movement and most functions, but I doubt it.

    Okay, this is a thing I've been noticing as I've delved deeper into custom configurations... changing a mob that normally spawns as a creature to a monster results in insane overpopulation. Take the Joust and Joust Alpha from Lycanites' Mobs: the Alpha is aggressive, so I changed it to a monster in the hopes of spawning less of them, and somehow all I spawn now is Alphas, with nary a regular Joust to be found. Likewise, I can override a creature's spawn conditions using JAS, but if I don't, strange things will happen. Slimes will spawn uncontrollably during the day in a Flat world, filling up the monster cap until they despawn.

    So, there's a learning curve when adding creatures that have native spawning behavior. Skeletons don't spawn in light unless you make them do so, and even a spawn weight of 1 is going to spawn out of control if there's nothing else to compete with it during the day(when monsters typically don't spawn due to high light levels).

    These are mostly just observations, no real question involved... but if anyone wants to suggest some spawning tags to keep the teleporting Wizrobes of Zelda Sword Skills from slaughtering me in my house regularly, I wouldn't turn down the suggestion.

    I meant a legit way through the mod. Isn't there some other way to find or purchase one? (I try to avoid using NEI cheats because I've lost so many world saves it's easy to justify giving myself practically everything I've already spent time and energy accumulating elsewhere)

    Is there a workaround if you use the mod with a pre-existing world and don't get the Basic Orb? I must have accidentally disabled it in the config somehow.

    Thanks, I looked through the forum but must have missed your post. I've posted details of this also to the Abyssalcraft list on Curse. Maybe the mod dev can figure out what is causing the conflict.

    Shinoow said he's working on it for his next release. In the meanwhile, you can try backing up to two versions ago for Abyssalcraft, assuming that's a possibility. I didn't have issues until I installed 1.8, which is when the ID conflict was introduced due to a fix for an older conflict.

    I had the same issue and had to uninstall one of the two. If you look further up the thread, it's an issue with the Pech and its enchantment using the same ID as something in Abyssalcraft.

    its not technically JAS so much as the fact that JAS detects the conflict sooner rather than later(if I remember what CrudeDragos said correctly).

    Regarding entities and future plans to fiddle with capturing entities with the chests, have you had a look at Openblocks and their Luggage creature? I'm pretty sure the code is open source, and however they change Luggage from an entity to an item and back again might be worth a look. (I realize Minecarts do something similar, but they don't usually have a gamestate to preserve like Luggage and its contents).

    Specifically, 1217 included a change to the way key presses were handled, though the mod should also be backwards compatible now if you felt like going back to 1180 or whatever.

    I only ever test builds on the latest recommended forge build, in this case 1230, so if you do encounter any bugs (you shouldn't, but if you do), go ahead and report them here.

    Okay, thanks! I've been wanting to try this mod for a while, and I use a lot of development builds of mods. Usually the first thing I try when there's an issue is updating Forge if possible, in case the coders are working with a different version. It never occurred to me that issues might run in both directions of the version history, though it probably should have.

    Has anyone confirmed whether the mod still works fine with higher versions of Forge than recommended? This is the first time I've seen a mod refer to a specific Forge without the "+" at the end, wanted to make sure before I download.
