While MoveCraft is very cool, it's just too awkward for my tastes.
I'd like some actual vehicle models with detail. I'm starting to think that Notch should just get on with making a modding API, and let the players implement the vehicles.
I see some flames flickering back up the thread, but I'll ignore them.
Anyway, all you all might be interested in the airship mod currently being developed. In my opinion it's epic. I'm too lazy to throw out the link, but if you go to the mapping and modding section, you can find it easily enough.
I wish the minecraft graphics would have checkboxes like "betterlight", "3d clouds", "transparent leaves" since i can run betterlight, but on fast graphics, at 40 fps. While on fancy, i can run it at 10 fps.
My thoughts exactly. Why this is, I have no freaking clue. Perhaps its just that MrM is a better coder then the Mojang team. I mean, you'd think that having such a fancy lighting engine would make the game run slower than just rendering the inside faces of leaf blocks, wouldn't you? I guess not.
Are you planning on including non-HD textures as well? I know this is sort of for your pack Glimmar, but I personally like to keep my mine craft low res.
Also, looking great.
- should be every where
I don't see why.
-No slimes? :sad.gif: wtf
I made this list before slimes were implemented. I would add them if I hadn't abandoned it.
-to many mobs, these would take forever to code
I acknowledge that in the intro. This is a maybe much later sort of idea.
-although you should keep some of them with their own biome
What?
-I live in a mix of biomes so a bunch of mobs would rape my house
It's my stance that biomes should be a LOT bigger.
-some of these biomes do not exist
Yes. The list was made before biomes even existed. I would like to see these biomes implemented.
-Where the **** is hell on this list
Nowhere, because there is no hell biome. The nether isn't included either because it wasn't coded before I abandoned the thread.
overall 5/10

Add dragons? Western ones, not the Wyvern type... (How did you put in Wyverns and not normal dragons?) Chinese Dragon idea can be scratched, not that obsessed with it.
I very much dislike the stereotypical dragon, because it's overused. I like Wyverns much better. More exotic, less commonly used.
I don't really maintain this thread anymore, for all those who were wondering.
Dude, deep, spikey plants with grass makes you move slowly.
GOOD MOD! FancyPack have some kind of it, but there are only one road type.
I don't see what you mean with 'deep, spikey plants'.
I walk just as fast on grass as I do on stone as I do on roads, which are actually made of stone (most of the time)
The typical terrain of minecraft is wild grasses, newly shoveled dirt, new hewn stone. It makes sense that you could walk faster over a precisely crafted paved road than these other terrains. The only thing I would say is that it would also make sense to make walking on planks fractionally faster.
Your objection to the realism of this in the first place is ridiculous. It's a mod. You don't have to download or install it.
Well didn't show up on my search so I put in a suggestion :tongue.gif:
Fair enough.
I'd really like to see the underground developed a bit more. This is minecraft after all. We need bigger mushrooms, better troglodytes, more ores, and an all around more interesting underground.
Don't want to join a clan? But you want to be recognized as an entity, not just a player, but an individual? That is the purpose of this thread.
So post here in this format:
Name [in desired color]
Title/Occupation
Allies
Miscellaneous/Creed/Code of Honor/Manifesto
And then I'll add you to the list. The only rule is that you cannot belong in any formal clans. This is just a listing of free agents, rogues, wanderers, and hopeless individualists who still want vain recognition, not a clan itself. Feel free to use the thread to discuss dealings with clans and other individuals too. I don't mind.

There's also the problem that it takes a while for some players to find even the three diamonds necessary to make a pick and mine obsidian. It would personally tick me off if I had to get to the nether first for my light sources to stop running out. There's a concept known as flow when you're dealing with games. It means that a game is designed so that more advanced and adventurous players will have a harder experience, but the "n00bs" per say will have an easier experience, therefore maximizing fun for all groups. Making infinite light supply an end-game object sort of defies that principle of flow.
Not a bad idea, but I prefer LightWarriorK's proposed alchemy suggestion for enhancing your metals. As for the enhanced foodstuffs, bottles should be craft-able, bread is fine as is. Also, making chain mail out of cowhide is silly.
Anyway, yeah, look up LightWarriorK's Big book of Alchemy.
Maybe.
You see, I love this idea, and the many like it. It goes along with the whole chisel/sculpt idea, a tool that would let you take away corners of the block geometry. It's great.
However...
The problem is save size and performance. Having a slow computer, I'm very wary of impacting those things. The rendering of a world gets a whole lot more complicated, and the amount of data it takes up would increase hugely.
So my answer is yes, but only if Notch could do it without greatly impacting performance (which is unlikely).
P.S. Very nicely presented. You're a role model for the suggestions forum.

And while I don't use your texture pack, I've always thought it looks lovely.

I'm crying. It's so... beautiful...
Very nice work. I have no doubt you'll be able to make it fly. Maybe you should contact the maker of HoverBoat.

I could go longer, but not without discomfort that I'd like to avoid.

Yeah, I was too ready to believe that.
