Thanks for the help. I actually used the Jarfix program mentioned somewhere above, and once I downloaded that, double clicking worked perfectly.

No problem happy to hear my idea helped like I said JarFix is just an easy was to fix file association with jars

So for the most part, as long as I don't spam it, and don't dig straight to diamonds, I should be golden?

Much appreciated. I was using Chrome too(why does IE still exist?), which further confused me. I'm on my school laptop but I will try this when I get home.

Lel you are right why does IE still exists but back to the topic I recommend trying JarFix to fix the association with jars

If you use it a lot, the server can "guess" that you are cheating, because you are requesting more packets and other technical stuff I don't really understand, I guess?

First of all, never use IE.

How to open a .jar file:
Make sure you have Java installed (if you can play Minecraft, Java is definitely installed).
Right-click the X-ray.jar file and select "open with". If Java is not in the list, click "browse".
The Java folder should be located somewhere in "C:\Program Files" (64-bit Java) or "C:\Program Files(x86)" (32-bit Java).
Go to the "Java/jre1.8.0_XX/bin" folder (if you have multiple Java versions installed, select the one with the highest number at "XX") and double-click "java.exe".

Not true since unless they are on Linux or ubuntu Mojang had now made the Minecraft launchers for Mac and Windows install their own private JRE.

Hi AO! So I tried out the latest version. Here are a few things I've noticed with block selection, after some experimentation (in no particular order):

"Snow" controls both the full snow blocks as well as the snow layers. While not a big deal, ideally they should be treated separately.

"Acacia Sapling" and "Birch Sapling" didn't seem to show up on the list at first, but when I did get them to show, they don't do anything. The other saplings work as expected, but these two seem to follow the regular "Oak Sapling" setting, and not their own.

"Redstone Ore" controls both the lit-up and unlit versions of the ore (which is perfectly fine, but I thought they used to be separate).

"Melon Stem" doesn't show up at all. Melon stems follow the "Pumpkin Stem" flag.

"Mushroom" controls both the brown and red mushrooms (not a problem, just seems inconsistent with how flowers work).

"Wood Slab" controls DOUBLE slabs of all 6 wood types. The single slabs are separately controllable, and work fine. Double slabs are "all or nothing" and controlled by the "Wood Slab" flag.

"Anvil" seems to control BOTH the "slightly" and "very" damaged versions of the Anvil, but NOT the undamaged version.
"Slightly Damaged Anvil" actually controls the undamaged version of the Anvil.
"Very Damaged Anvil" didn't want to show up on the list at first, but even when it does, it doesn't control anything.

"tile.skull.skeleton.name" controls all mob skulls (which is probably fine)

"tile.null.name" appears to control the black-speckled portal field used on End portals.

That's all I've found so far. I'll let you know if I find anything else interesting... :)

A few of those are limitations in how mojang has coded it like the melon stem and mushroom ones.

I downloaded the mod, and got a .jar file. However, I can't open the Installer.class file because it's a .class and not a real file. Help!

Is it opening in winrar if so you need to have it open as a jar

I made a profile called "Chests" and put it to only show blocks like chests, anvil, furnace, etc. When i press x, it shows the default blocks

You need to set a keybinding for your profile chests in the controls
