Is there any way to recycle an older ElectriCraft battery or wire towards an upgraded one?

I'm revisiting this mod as of V23; one of the roadblocks to true acceptance of this mod is that I typically go straight to the last two batteries, and never touch the lossy wires at all.

Granted it takes forever in an "early" game to get the resources necessary for an Aurora battery; but the result is that its even more imperative to just skip the other batteries which would otherwise waste those resources (primarily diamond, but also some others)

I'd love to see some earlier-game use of the lower-tier batteries, but to justify this I'd need to be able to recycle some reasonable percentage of the resources towards an upgrade some day.

I don't actually have any good idea for wire-recycling. Batteries could theoretically recycle diamonds, but the wires are made of different materials.

I am going to make the terraformer compatible with BC markers like the Quarry.

    EDIT:
I also fixed the ElectriCraft battery-relay bug.

I just found this buried in here whilst on a coffee break. Thanks Reika; much prefer to use your relays than sketchy block-switching mods to cheat around it.

What's interesting is I don't think the Resistor has the same issue; iirc, resisting all current (0 color bands) prevents all flow.

Apologies if I'm mistaken about this; cannot confirm at the moment.

Reika, my apologies; Resistor does actually suffer the same issue, I was wrong.

Holy cow. You should put this somewhere visible Reika. http://lisimba.org/m...ctor/howto.html

Holy cow indeed. Wow. Whose is this? Is it fully up to date?

That is some amazing level of detail.

No, but I have no idea how to fix it.

I spent two hours last night looking at the code on github in the hopes of assisting, but any relevant method call seems to return zero where it should. The consumption logic seemed to work out to: consumption (long p) = long (0A) * long (0V). I don't get it.

You likely already know this, but just in case: a disconnected relay allows >0V at 0A.

But here is the problem. Even when the Relay is disconnected and there is nothing to use the power, the battery will continue to drain unless I shut it off by removing the redstone signal.
If I break the wire between the Relay and the battery, it stops. But it seems the relay (even when it is disconnected) is draining the battery.

This makes the whole battery and relay pretty useless as each machine would have to have it's own battery, rather than using a battery with relays to shut off or turn on separate circuits.

Any help about whether this is intended or a bug, or am I just missing something is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

I'm also having this problem. I was...rather annoyed this evening when I noticed my battery had drained dry with no consumption.

Its easily reproducible. Create an Aurora battery, output wire from top, redstone signal the battery so it outputs.

Connect a relay to the output wire and terminate with a valid consumer (such as another battery).

The Aurora battery will deplete at an alarming rate. The consumer will receive no power.

Anyone know if this is intentional?
