The list of features above had a number on certain bullet points, and the explanations here correspond to those numbers!
1. Players do not get a Starter Pokémon when they first join, and have to make their own Poké Balls and catch their first Pokémon instead!
2. Default Pixelmon settings are set so that Legendary Pokémon has a 30% chance to spawn every 20 minutes, assuming the correct spawn conditions are met.
On PokéWorld SMP, Legendary Pokémon instead have a 45% chance of spawning approximately once every 80 minutes, only that the spawns are NOT announced in chat. In other words, you'll have to pay attention if you want to catch a legendary!
3. Wild Pokémon levels increase the further away from spawn you travel, all the way up to a maximum of lvl 65 (which you would start seeing roughly 20,000 blocks away from spawn).
4. We have a custom story, lore and questline, made with Custom NPCs! More quests will be added as we progress through the server, and the story will be heavily affected by the community.
Don't worry though, this is still a survival server. The quests aren't a central feature of PokéWorld, and is more of a side-activity to keep the gameplay varied and interesting!
5. We have custom made textures for certain Pokémon, that we use as the 1st place prize for some of the tournaments we host.
6. We have a NPC-ran League system with 8 Gym Leaders and an Elite 4. Defeating all of them will grant you the right to challenge the current Champion (who is a player) for their title. If a Champion loses, the title is transferred to the winner.
7. We have a player-ran battle system independent from the League, which we're calling the Battle Frontier. It's basically a system where players get to choose to fight in one of five branches, all of which have a branch leader. If the player wins all of their matches in that branch, they get to challenge the branch leader for their title. Each branch leader has a unique title, and each branch follow their own set of battle rules and conditions!
8. As we've already mentioned, PokéWorld aims to create an authentic survival experience for our players. In that spirit, we do NOT have any gameplay-changing plugins. That means we do not have any quality-of-life plugins, such as /home, /tpa or /kit.
9. PokéWorld doesn't have ANY p2w features. In other words, we do NOT have any stores, voting, crates or any other nonsense p2w elements. You'll have to work for absolutely everything on this server, as we don't give away any free items.
Instead, PokéWorld SMP relies entirely on donations from our members. Donating money to the server will NOT grant members any in-game perk or benefit, and is only an option to those who just want to support the server and help with the upkeep!
10. Since PokéWorld is using a custom modpack for Season 2, three of those mods are Biomes O' Plenty, Open Terrain Generator and Biome Bundle O' Plenty. In case you're not familiar with these mods, they're terrain generators that makes Minecraft worlds look more beautiful with better looking biomes and terrain!
Pokémon can still spawn in the modded biomes, so don't worry about that!
11. We frequently host various events, most frequently building contests and Pokémon tournaments! We usually have 2-3 events every month.
