    Ghost command

Disconnects an old user session, or somebody attempting to use your nickname without authorization.

If you are logged in to the nick's account, you need not specify a password, otherwise you have to.

    Syntax: GHOST [password]

    Example:
    /msg NickServ GHOST foo bar

    Chanserv flags

+v - Enables use of the voice/devoice commands.

    +V - Enables automatic voicing.

+o - Enables the use of the op/deop commands.

    +O - Enables automatic op

+i - Enables use of the INVITE and GETKEY commands.

    Chanserv commands

The KICK command allows for the removal of a user from a channel. The user can immediately rejoin.
    Syntax: KICK <#channel> [reason]

    Examples:
    /msg ChanServ KICK #foo abuser
/msg ChanServ KICK #foo abuser please stop

The BAN command allows you to ban a user or hostmask from a channel.
    Syntax: BAN <#channel> <nickname|hostmask>

    Examples:
    /msg ChanServ BAN #chat carnell
    /msg ChanServ BAN #chat *!*@*.ipt.aol.com

The QUIET command allows you to mute a user or hostmask in a channel. Affected users will be notified that you did it.
    Syntax: QUIET <#channel> <nickname|hostmask>

    /msg ChanServ QUIET #chat AfterDeath
    /msg ChanServ QUIET #chat *!*@*.ipt.aol.com

    GroupServ flags

The FLAGS command allows for the granting/removal of group privileges on a more specific, non-generalized level. It supports registered nicknames as targets.

When only the group argument is given, a listing of permissions granted to users will be displayed.
    Syntax: FLAGS <!--group-->

You can modify a users' flags if you yourself have the +f flag. This has much the same syntax as chanserv/flags, using + to add flags to a user and - to remove flags from a user.
    Syntax: FLAGS <!--group--> [nickname flag_changes]

    Permissions:
+f - Enables modification of group access list.
+F - Grants full founder access.
+m - Read memos sent to the group.
+c - Have channel access in channels where the group has sufficient privileges.
+v - Take vhosts offered to the group through HostServ.

The special permission +* adds all permissions except +F.
The special permission -* removes all permissions including +F.

    Examples:
    /msg GroupServ FLAGS !baz
/msg GroupServ FLAGS !baz foo +F
/msg GroupServ FLAGS !baz foo -*
/msg GroupServ FLAGS !baz foo +fmc

posted a message on Current member title list
    Update:

With the recent forum software upgrade, the title system is a little bit different. For one, any title you unlock will be available for use from that point on. With that in mind, any hidden title you earn will be usable at any point, not just for the specific post count it shows for. That also means that when you get to that specific post count for a hidden title, it will stay beyond that post count, rather than revert back to the previous title. While we could have simply removed the hidden ranks due to the new system, we decided to keep them in place at the same post counts to unlock.

The update to post ranks is finally here! Sorry to take so long on that. It was a bit difficult trying to keep most of them the same, add new ones, and still keep things on a fairly steady title change scale. Oh, and laziness.

First off, Pig Tamer is not the final title anymore! In fact, it's just been flat out removed. It was placed there before because at the time, we only had one person even close to it. Now that so many are passed it, it's not really needed as a placeholder anymore. There are now far more ranks after 5000, and a few minor tweaks to some lower ranks. There's been a few new hidden ranks added as well. For now, we'll wait until people find them before added them to the spoiler'd list.

    Regular ranks
(Once you get past the post number mentioned, you have that title until you reach the next number)
    0 - Newbie
    1 - Newly Spawned
2 - Out of the Water

    40 - Carpenter
    70 - Stone Miner
    100 - Coal Miner
    150 - Zombie Killer
    250 - Iron Miner
    350 - Gold Miner
    500 - Redstone Miner
    700 - Diamond Miner
    900 - Lapis Lazuli Collector
    1200 - Obsidian Miner
    1500 - Void Walker
    2000 - Nether Resident
    2500 - Ghast Hunter
    3000 - Glowstone Miner

posted a message on Let's decide on an approach to informals/formals
I definitely like this method. Often times, someone will break a simple rule once (a single bump, not fully understanding where to post something, etc.) and sincerely apologize afterwards. They really didn't mean any ill-will, they just didn't read every word of the rules. And hey, you can't really fault them for that. There's lots of obvious stuff you just don't do on any forum (malware, sexual material, etc.) that people already know of. But we have lots of people knew to this kind of thing, and I'd rather we be nice and point them to the rules, than immediately shoot them down and nearly ban them the first week they're here.

posted a message on Stop Making Fun of Users! :(
Well, squids has already posted pretty much everything I could think of. But I want to put forth my feelings as well.

First and foremost, I'm a bit worried about anyone feeling like there's a justification to saying we're superior to the rest of the members of the forum. I fully invite anyone feeling this way to PM me with any possible frustrations, or desire to discuss this. Because I feel it's a serious issue that needs personal attention. There is no need for philosophical interjection with this; it really just doesn't apply. In no context are we "better" than anyone else for what we do. A forum grows due to contributing members, just as well as us keeping the peace, so to speak. All of us, on a whole, are equally valuable.

As for this topic itself, the idea of a place for everyone to vent is indeed a good idea. The thread was really meant as a place for us to gather, and share stories of the crazy stuff that we'd seen. But it mostly just became a place for us to hold up members, point to them, and tell everyone to laugh at them. Nothing good comes out of that. As stated already, that creates a sort of justification for everyone to feel like we're better than everyone else. It gives the impression that people should be made fun of first, and helped second. That's not the proper order.

Again, I agree that a sense of camaraderie is needed, and sharing crazy experiences with each other is definitely a part of that. But not at the expense of other members.

posted a message on The Hippocracy of Minecraft Forums
I was around back then as well, and you're leaving out a few details. For one, people didn't dislike you because of a specific suggestion. People disliked you because you insulted and abused anyone who didn't agree with your ideas. As well as insulting anyone else's suggestions, and the people who posted them. That is the reason for the harsh responses, and your suspension. Creating two more accounts to evade would be why you were permanently banned.

Wolfram wasn't the only one to deal with you, and I can safely say he dealt with matters appropriately. So as citric said, what exactly are you posting this for? If you want your account to be unbanned, you can appeal the ban (which considering how old it is, would have been your best option). Posting this misleading thread is not something that helps your case.

posted a message on Grievances from PPNS Forum
As Meta has said, the fact that these topics are "sensitive and controversial" isn't a valid excuse to insult people and get in arguments. You're not warriors on the front lines dealing with a dangerous enemy here. You're in a discussion. What makes PPNS any different than, say, specific subreddits on select subjects? For example, I don't see flaming and rampant arguments in r/askscience (or even r/science, for that matter). Do you know why? A mix of people being mature enough to discuss things, and strict moderation when required.

Something to point out, you mentioned citricsquid "daring to insult our intelligence". However, go re-read his posts. There are no insults to be found. Honest input and criticism is not the same thing as an insult. Just as well, you could have insults thrown at you all day long, that is no excuse to throw insults back. And considering that is specifically against the rules here (which you've been warned for many, many times), you can see why someone can see yourself as not mature enough to take part in these discussions.

Be sure to check your browser for any extensions that might have been installed by a third party (things such as toolbar installers will sometimes do this). Also, do a search for junkware removal. There's a good possibility you have some of these that are causing these links to pop up. This will happen on any site you visit, not just here.
