Yeah... forgot that. That's the one place most people forget to light up. I often place overhangs just so spiders can't get on top of buildings. Usually my overhangs are just above window level, so about 4 blocks high. That way I can see spiders that are trying to get on my roof.Quote from SharpenedPata
and always light up your roof. I forget sometimes, and when I look out, and see nothing, I go out, and "sssssss" boom

Jan 5, 2013In my village, I placed fenced in snow golems on top of 3x3x3 cobblestone blocks on the outskirts. My homes are usually always built with 2 -3 cobblestone block thick walls with gaps under windows, so that I may safely swing and hit the creepers without setting them off. I always put glass up near my doorways so that I can see what's out there before stepping out.Posted in: MCX360: Discussion
As others have already mentioned... plenty of lighting is necessary, too. Also fencing areas off, to keep a safe area around your housing may be a good idea, too. For example, in my village I have my farm animals fenced in one area, my garden area in another fenced area, then the rest of the houses are well lit up with torches on all corners... and the village is completely fenced in or at least 3 blocks off the ground so nothing can get in from outside the village.
