minecraft will never die, it's too big of a franchise.Multi-million dollar game so far, maybe even billions ...not sure entirely. But it is very successful.
And they still have tons of things to add to the game, so there's no sense in shutting it down just yet or, even in 10 years.

I've seen pretty good gaming computers in the 250 - 500 range. That could record minecraft and play at a smooth framerate.
..Now if you're willing to go up by about 50 - 100$ (Depending on S&H and tax) This one, is pretty good..
