A lot of you guys are sounding demotivational and impatient. Reminder: He holds no obligation to do any of this. People constantly whining and trying to tell him what he should do is usually what drives an artist into just not doing anything at all. Take what you get and in the meantime, use SinglePlayerCommands like he keeps readily suggesting. If that's so much of a problem use Voxelsniper and worldedit with Bukkit or MCPC+ . He's trying to give you something you've never had before. Chill.

...We were talking about WorldEdit for 1.7...

Agreed, 1.7 is the new, by the time a 1.6 version is out, 1.8 will be out, the only reason i want xcommands for 1.7 is so that i can have worldedit on a 1.7 vanilla server and move away from bukkit.

Yep, it would go like: 1.6 comes out when 1.8 comes out, 1.7 comes out when 1.9 comes out, and 1.8 comes out when 2.0 comes out.

Personally i would say don't bother with 1.6 at all for xcommands, just dive right into 1.7.

Yeah, me too, but his reason was because 1.7 added too much, and that is true. But he could still work on it instead of 1.6.4, because if he works on 1.6.4 first, then 1.7 will take longer.

I'm working on XCommands for 1.6.2, since most of what I am doing is independent of Minecraft version.
XCommands has never relied on MCP, and I'm working on my own coding environment for it.
I generally recommend people use SinglePlayerCommands, because XCommands is highly experimental.

Oh, so you are going to work on 1.6.2, then 1.6.4, then 1.7?

Because by then probably 1.9 would be out.

I have released an updated version of SinglePlayerCommands for Minecraft 1.6.4.
XCommands is still quite some way off... I'm working on a lot of stuff for it.
I'll probably start to integrate some of the new commands into SPC in the mean time.

So, you ARE working on XCommands for 1.7? Or you are waiting for MCP? Because there is going to be a new update in under a week, the Music Update.

What's sad is that Forge is most likely going to update for 1.7 in December when there is a new update in a week, and probably 1.8 will be out by then.

The Forge 1.7.2 build is estimated to be released sometime in December...

I guess that is a pretty good Christmas gift. :Sheep:

    Since my laptop no longer seems to be getting an internet connection at the local library (I think the public router is dying >///<), I have rendered a bunch of scenes with your trees in them. First off is the Picnic area of my hotel that you wanted to see, the others are random shots from some of my 36 world saves that I picked at random ^///^;

    Whoa...What shader is THAT?!

Own coding :) No MCP here, but it makes it easier when MCP is updated, because I can lookup its mappings.

Cool. So MCP just makes modding easier?

(Sorry, I have no idea what mappings are.)

I don't require MCP or Forge to updated XCommands, I'm working on my own mod development platform :)

Wait. So you are making your own mod development platform with your OWN coding or MCP?

You didn't directly say it but it's the way your post came across to me. Rather than wait for MCP/Forge you seemed to be suggesting that q3 learn how to code without them. It kind of made me feel like you were in the 'I want it now' brigade. My apologies for me being wrong and lumping you in with them. My post wasn't meant to come across in any negative way. It's probably because I get a little jaded sometimes at all the folks who are impatient, who can't stay on a slightly outdated MC and who demand that mods update to their schedule. They don't deserve to have great mods to use when they act that way. Again, I'm not saying this is you but it is other people.

I'm glad you got the sarcasm. Not everyone does and it doesn't always translate well to print. It's why I use that format to emphasise it.

Lex's December date was only an estimation so it may be ready earlier (fingers crossed), but it's still too early to tell. Maybe we'll get a rush of mods updating for Xmas like we did for 1.4.6/7 last year. That was a good Minecraft Xmas. :D

I know right! We will TOTALLY get Forge updated earlier! Yep. Totally. Without a doubt. They are totally gonna update it before their estimate. Totally. I'm not being sarcastic or anything...you know. Yep. :D

If this is like other mods then he can't do a thing until MCP updates and releases. I don't think MCP has been updated yet and there were many changes to MC 1.7.x, so it's going to take them time. After that q3 can start doing his stuff. Unless he requires Forge as well, then it's a bit more waiting. The Forge team estimated December before mods could realistically start to be updated. It sucks but that's the way it is.

It is possible to code and release without MCP but it's not the way most modders do things as MCP makes it a lot easier. So even a non-Forge release would still require MCP to update.
[sarcasm] Yes, I'm sure q3 can learn how to code it all by himself, just because you are impatient and can't wait like everyone else. I mean, he doesn't need a life and he obviously has loads of free time, right?[/sarcasm]
The Forge team need to wait for MCP, just like everyone else. It takes them longer than an hour, even on simpler updates, but when they do release quick versions they are usually very unstable. It's better to wait for a stable, recommended release. As I said in the reply above, there are a lot of changes to MC code and the way things are done. It's going to be a long winded process to get everything updated.
If you want to blame someone, blame Mojang and their many code breaking updates.

Who...said I was impatient? I just wanted to know. And I didn't blame anyone.....?

But I do admire your sarcasm. :P

Yes, I know q3 has a life, but I was just asking if he could do it or not. I wasn't trying to imply a false idea that I wanted to blame Forge. Forge hasn't done anything wrong. I didn't know they estimated it would come out in December though. But it doesn't really matter. December is a month away.

    :) 10/10 mod.

    Comic Sans, just because.

Yeah, a lot of people love this mod. But it might be a while till it updates. Forge 1.7.2 isn't out yet, neither is ModLoader. And the owner hasn't posted something since Oct. 16th. But he is still active.
