    Removing the // before them should fix the problem. Unless they were commented out for a reason. If this does not fix the issue let me know and I'll continue to look for the issue.

    Can this be fixed by the player, or will we need to wait for zero to do it?

    Hello, my name is Thad, and I am in the market for a server. My friends and family members all play Minecraft, and I am hoping to find a good host that can take care of all the main points that I need to make this work. We will also be using this server for development of mods / packs and will need it to hold up under the strain. Paying for it is no problem within our budget, so without wasting time here is what we need:
    1. Mods - At current, the build we use runs on the #965 and #1118 builds of Forge, with a large number of mods (75-150). The main thing we are shooting for is a server that can not only handle the mods, but work well with them also.
    2. Slots - We shouldn't have too many people ever online at once, 6 or 7 at the moment. With that in mind we want to aim for a server that can fit 10-12 people at once.
    3. Dimensions - Our server has quite a few mods that have extra dimensions. There are more than 15 different dimensions, without taking Mystcraft into account. I don't know about the strain on a server that this can cause but that is what we are hoping to run.
    4. Machines - A large number of the mods that we are running are using machines or automation of some kind. They will most likely be turned off by players once they log off,but if not, I want the server to maintain a lag-free environment.
    5. Managed Hosting / Support - This one is probably the most important of the items, but can be passed if need be. We are hopping to find someone that can troubleshoot and deal with issues that cause server instability to a point, as well as handle server issues as they come up. A live chat or Skype will move you up to a top spot!
    6. RAM - At the moment we have no real clue as to how much ram we need. Normal load would be something around 1GB. The mods that we have though, I believe, will cause us to need more, so we are going to shoot for around 3GB or more.
    7. Hardware - The stickler point. Over the time we have spent with host, this has proven to be the most important piece of information. Please, when replying, post your hardware. If you aren't running something tell me. If you are, tell me. The more information we have about your hardware the more inclined we will be to make a well informed decision
    EXTRAS! - These things are not mandatory but will earn MAJOR points!-
    1. Voice - This is a big want for us as we do not have one currently setup. Anything will do but we do have a preference for Ventrilo.
    2. Webspace - Be it a page, or a Forum, this would be a definite interest to us.
    3. Backups - Daily Automated Backups. Awesome. That is all.
    4. MySQL
    5. Custom Panel or Choice of Panel used - Your server uses "X" Panel. Cool. Can I use "Y" panel without any issues or up charges.

    As the title suggest, I am wishing to start a mod team to first, and foremost, develop my skills at java asset creation, as well as coding., and also to meet new people, who I hope will become friends as time passes
    • A little about me - My name is Thaddeus. I am 25, married, with no children, and am working towards earning degrees in English with foci in Pre-IndoEuro Literature, as well as the Philosophy and Political science that went along with those times. I am a novice at java programming, and have trouble just making sense of code, though I am learning and will not stop until I know it. I have developed textures and models for the game for a while now so that part is not as difficult for me. My main point is within content creation, as I can come up some very detailed things, over a very vast spectrum of ideas. As for the game, I have been playing since alpha, when SMP had no damage to players, nor did it store damage to items and there was no Nether.
    • A bit about the team - I am building this team because I feel that I have many ideas that would be very solid when put into mod format. I also believe that there are others out there just like me who are thinking the same thing, In general I want the team to produce good, hi-quality mods, If this sounds like something you are interested in, please continue reading!

    Modifiers ( From most basic to most ridiculous. Just as a warning, be prepared.) -
    • Spiny - Causes damage to mobs on collision. This could be attributed to small spikes covering the suit itself
      • Materials - The material used could be what determines the damage of the spikes, and possibly the chance of the creature being injured upon collision.
    • Thick Shell - I know that you said Vanilla enhancements would be added, but something like this would be great, maybe for adding a percentile based deduction, or for increasing durability / repairing durability.
    • Claws - Adds an enchantable weapon, to the otherwise normal unarmed strike. Hitting a mob with your bare hands will now use the claws for the purpose of damage calculation. These claws can also be filled with poisons to inject small amounts of the vile liquid each hit, thus making the idea of poison making even more appealing!
    • Web - The Quintessential Super-Hero rip. Shoot web, connect to block, swing / pull / anything that makes sense here.
    • Extended Bone Structure - This is more bio-suit than exoskeleton features. I think that the idea of extending a hand to hit blocks far away could be useful.
    • Automated Defense Systems - So if the suit has a more Bio-esque feel, than something like this would be the pinnacle achievement. The prime idea of this being that it will defend the user whenever something hostile enters its range. "Defending" can be anything from telling the user that something hostile is near, to shooting bone pellets in the direction of the perceived threat.
    • A.C.D (Automatic Cake Dispenser) - Press a button. Cake is placed on ground. ........? Profit.
    • Flaming Feet - Taken from a classic horror story, what if your very feet burned with the heat of molten earth? This would cause damage as long as it is active, but would instantly smelt anything you walked over.
    • Pumped up Kicks - I went there. Bouncing as you walk. Amazing-ness.

    Hey Reika, just wanting to say great work on the mod. It is so unique and absolutely stunning modelling. I am working with a team on another mod, named Minestrappolation, and have found a crash that results from both your mod and ours being together. I don't have much coding knowledge myself, so just wanted to pass it on. I have a mess ton of mods active, but have isolated it down to Minestrap and one of your mods.     I salute all you guys, working on the code and giving us builds to test out. I tried and must have done something wrong between apache and Git.

    I was wondering though, if either of you guys knew of a build that is 1.6.2 compatible, or even already packaged. Just curious about it, or if I'll need to wait until we update our server. I do love some EE and also Lom's Addon as well!

    posted a message on Seeking a Solid and Managed(Preffered) Host



    Hello, my name is Thad, and I am in the market for a server. My friends and family members all play Minecraft, and I am hoping to find a good host that can take care of all the main points that I need to make this work. Paying for it is no problem within our budget, so without wasting time here is what we need:
    1. Mods - At current the build we use runs on the FTB platform with 174 mods. The main thing we are shooting for is a server that can not only handle the mods, but work well with them also.
    2. Slots - We shouldn't have too many people ever online at once, 6 or 7 at the moment. With that in mind we want to aim for a server that can fit 10-12 people at once.
    3. Dimensions - Our server has quite a few mods that have extra dimensions. There are 6 different dimensions, with an extra if the Limbo dimension from dimension doors counts. I don't know about the strain on a server that this can cause but that is what we are hoping to run.
    4. Machines - A large number of the mods that we are running are using machines. They will most likely be turned off by players once they log off,but if not, I want the server to maintain a lag-free environment.
    5. Managed Hosting / Support - This one is probably the most important of the items, almost mandatory, but can be passed if need be. We are hopping to find someone that can troubleshoot and deal with mod conflicts, as well as handle server issues as they come up. A live chat or Skype will move you up to a top spot!
    6. Connection and Location - We are all located in the south, with Louisiana being the central area. We would need a server that has good connection speeds, and preferably one that is nearby, and at the very least, in the U.S..
    7. RAM - At the moment we have no real clue as to how much ram we need. Normal load would be something around 1GB. The mods that we have though, I believe, will cause us to need more, so we are going to shoot for around 3GB or more.
    8. Budget - Our budget at this time is 20-30 Dollars. We are hoping to stay as close to 20 as possible but are willing to pay more for something that looks better.
    EXTRAS! - These things are not mandatory but will earn MAJOR points!-
    1. Voice - This is a big want for us as we do not have one currently setup. Anything will do but we do have a preference for Ventrilo.
    2. Webspace - Be it a page, or a Forum, this would be a definite interest to us.
    3. Backups - Daily Automated Backups. Awesome. That is all.
    Well I hope this covers everything, and I can't wait to start hosting with anyone willing to work with us!

    So I never really write up reviews, as usually they don't help me and server host rarely ever stay around long enough that the reviews will actually matter, but after the last month and a half I figured that this review was well worth the time to type it up and then some.

    About 6 weeks ago, some friends and I decided to start looking for a server host. We were tired of only being able to play during lan parties and hamachi was just a no. Thus began our long trechourous journey through the sea of back alley hosters that pop up and fall as quick as a cheerleaders skirt on prom. We first bought a simple cheap host. Prices seemed fair enough, and then after 3 days, down time. Constant, near endless downtime. When we asked we were told to just bear with it, and that we needed to chill and relax. One down.

    The next host was a great host by the look of it. Seemed solid. Good prices, reviews, and ratings. So we signed up there, and quickly bought some extra memory to house our massive mod collection. As soon as we had 3 people on, the server would close. Terrain Gen? Close. Machines Going? Close. Mystcrafting? Close. It was like this, near constantly. At first I thought it was us, than I researched and realized that while we had bought ram, our host had left us with the exact same cpu power. We were a 5gb server running on a 1gb CPU setting. We quickly moved on. We bounced through another one or two, when Omid posted on my topic.

    A good friend and I read over the post. "This can't be legit," I said to him, "Its like everything from EVERY host we've had for a low price." My friend convinced me to give it a shot and after a bit of thinking I did.

    Wow is all I can really say. I'll try and list the high points so bear with me.
    1. FTP and root// Access - This is SO important to anyone who wants a modded server. Being able to add files as needed, rearrange and deal with them in a quick, efficient manner, is absolutely a must. The shear amount of time saved is ridiculous.
    2. Permissions - So everyone will read this and go, "Dude, we all have that." To them I say yes, but do your permissions allow for certain individuals to have ftp and root capabilities. Are they all dynamic and not "Group" specific unless you want them to be? Do they allow for users to be able to upload only certain things, move, change and just govern interaction outside of the game? No? Well that is what these can do.
    3. Support - So you are like us. You LOVE mods, and really like to tinker with them. Even so, you may(not) know exactly what you are doing. Well, the main thing these guys push is the fact that they are one of the best, if not the best, fully managed host. What does that mean? That means they will do anything in their power to help you with your problem and go much further out of the normal support comfort zone
    4. Accessibility - They have Live Chat. Email. Skype. Tickets. Hell, the supervisor even has a phone for emergency use. That is just outstanding. 95% of the problems with host arise from bad communication of issues, so this is of major importance and impact.
    5. Price - More than reasonable at $10/Gb. for a fully managed host. It not only comes with all the bells and whistles, but has access to MyMcAdmin as well. That panel alone is worth the price. They regularly run sales, and when we bought, there was a 50% off coupon for the lifetime of your account. Yea, that is correct. Until you cancel, any and all services there will be at a 50% reduced rate. If you upgrade, you get the 50% off, just the same as if you downgrade. That is a company trying to do a good job for its customers.
    6. ~~!*!~~ Final Thoughts ~~!*!~~

      I have played since beta, and the days where there was no health during SMP. I have seen every facet of the game since the old days of it and notch's blog. I have had 5 periods where I have owned a server, and have been with at least 12 different companies. Not since the old days have I seen a company that was like this, founded on the principle of the customer (not the dollar) comes first. ProvisionHost is a diamond amidst a sea of Rock Candy. It is most definately worth a look, so stop on by and take a chance at some of the best hosting I've seen in a long time, second only to the long dead Original Brohoster. They will be my first and only choice for a server for a long time to come.
