If this contest lets in new mods, then whoever wins, I do. But I really don't want to see any existing mods on the list...especially not SteamCraft. No offence to the creator, it's a good mod, but it wouldn't be fair to people who are creating something just for this contest...and it has atomic power. That's not steampunk.
So...yeah...I love the idea of the contest, but only if it is closed to pre-existing content. Newcomers for the win!
I totally agree with this. I've had months to build up content for Steamcraft, tweak it and make sure everything is nice and shiny, and it would absolutely be unfair to submit it. As much as I'd love to have it win a contest, I'd rather not shove it in ahead of people who have had much less time to work on theirs, so I think, even if it were allowed by the rules of this contest, I wouldn't submit it.
Oh, and as for the comment about atomic power: artistic license :biggrin.gif:

You will still have to place the config file manually in this install, due to errors stated above, so sorry about that!

I highly recommend you remove any Electric Lamps in your world before updating. Any placed Lamps will appear invisible until they are broken and replaced.

I don't have time to fix it if I want to release today, so I'm just going to release it, and you'll have to make do with another version with a 3 part install. Sorry!

EDIT: Lamps are finally working properly! I had all sorts of problems because I was using the metadata value 0 for the hanging Lamp. Unfortunately, this meant I had no check for if metadata had been set, so I changed it to 6, and a lot of things got better.

These are all included in the download, but I may edit the second post of the thread to include such things.

Could be an incompatibility somewhere.

Chainmail is done, as are most of the Aether items. I now have Aether mobs and a couple more random Aether graphics to do before I can release the next version. Sit tight.

I will warn you that the texture packs won't work on any of the new content until they are updated, though.

This is the new look of the Electric Lamp! Now with a 3D model!
This is the new icon for the Electric Lamp. It still overwrites a terrain sprite index (to save another ID being spent on making a Lamp item), and it is still very subject to change.
This was the main reason I wanted to change the rendering of the Electric Lamps. They looked so wrong when put on the side of a block using the torch render. A nice wall bracket makes all the difference.
Not only do they have new models, but they have a new feature too! You can now place them on the underside of blocks!
When placed underneath a block, as above, you can power them by powering the block they are placed on, just like usual!
And that has taken 3 days to get right. I'm so glad that's over.
