I'm 90% sure that I've seen animals respawning in the 1.8 official version, so I'm not sure where this idea is even coming from. Then again, I wasn't paying super close attention since I never thought about them not respawning so I could be mistaken.
FINE, I AM UPLOADING THE PHOTOS TO FLICKR!
but also this seems like the new lighting engine because redstone torches have the same effect.
I'm not sure you're getting it... This is a MOD which means it is something made by another group of people to alter the way the game works. As such, any new changes to the game, such as the new lighting system COULD break the effects of this mod but it is up to the makers of said mod to fix it... Notch and his crew aren't involved with this mod at all, so there's no point putting it here.
I've recently inhabited an "NPC Village" lately too and every morning there are tons of animals, particularly cows, all over the place. I think it may partially depend on the biome and since I'm in a grassland biome, animals are probably spawning a lot more than other places.
I was kind of hoping that there would be some way to influence, beyond the seeds, the way biomes spawned. Like "Normal" being how things are now, maybe have "Mountainous" as an option to have more mountain biomes... etc.
No clue if that is what is actually going to be done though
I had similar problems in my 1.8 pre-release v.1 world where monsters kept spawning by my bed despite it being in the middle of a moderate sized two story wood house that was well lit, inside and out. No idea what was going on but the save ended up getting corrupted due to other bugs anyway so I just restarted when the official 1.8 came out, haven't had a problem since.
Skeletons are the scariest, no matter how careful you are, they will get a shot on you from out of nowhere and make you jump out of your seat. Usually the worst part is that you have no idea where the shot came from so even after a shot it's not over.
With Creepers if you pay attention to your surroundings you can avoid most of them. What also makes them less scary is that there is no unknown with them, beyond any other melee mob. Once you see one, they're pretty easy to kill, unless it's SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSing by the time you see it.
Endermen are interesting to me. I haven't tried to fight one yet, mostly just watched them do their thing from my house (they picked up one block then just wondered in circles).
Ghasts? pfft, their fireballs don't really do any damage even on hard, I think they're the really annoying mob.
I think what makes Ghasts the worst is that you can't tell where they are by their sounds. I can locate the others (other than creepers) just by the direction of their noises but Ghasts are different. Plus, every freaking time I try to cross a narrow bridge or build up a tower to get glowstone one of those suckers appears and starts trying to blow me off of it and into the lava :sad.gif:
(Though to be honest, none of the mobs are actually scary. Minecraft isn't a horror game :tongue.gif: )
After I just updated the game, they were not scary. The first Enderman I saw was killed by a skeleton and the second one committed suicide by going into water in the farm. They mere more funny for me than scary.
But later I loaded the texture pack I usually use and 5 of them attacked me in the tunnels underground. I wasn't expecting them to look this scary. They kept teleporting from all directions when I wasn't expecting until I kill them all. I got stuck in the corner because two of them kept walking on me. :ohmy.gif:
Not a good sight:
Still, I don't know if I can call them most scary mob. For me any mob that can damage my buildings is scary. :tongue.gif:
Now those are some awesome looking pissed off Endermen. I must have the name of this texture pack :ohmy.gif:
I absolutely love the new terrain generator and the hunger bar stuff. It makes it much more fun to find new areas than the way it was before where it was nearly nothing but a bunch of hills and trees scattered at random. Now I'm excited to find a mountain biome whereas before I was sick of them because I just wanted some freaking flat land to build on.
Though the Endermen could definitely use some work... They're easy to kill, not scary at all, and they mess up my forests by moving blocks around :sad.gif:
I say that Cave Spiders are the new scary mod, mostly because of how powerful they are. My favorite is still the creeper though, they're just so darn huggable.

Probably. If anything this is something that the mod makers need to adjust to, it isn't up to the game designers to fix mods made for their game.
Also, just a tip.... Don't put pics in zip folders next time :wink.gif:

I completely forgot about Ghasts, how dare I! I would like to change my vote to Ghast now. I shat last time I went to the nether thanks to them.
