honestly, im one of those people that REALLY thinks its stupid. i live in my mine, and i dont like farming, so your telling me everyone few days i have to go up to the surface and kill some pigs? i hate having to go up on the surface in general, i like in my own little, quiet, cozy, comfterable home in my mine. can you think of what will happen with adventure maps? would people have to put a chest full of food in the begining? obviousley they wont change it, well have to start some sort of band of people with like sigs saying "i dont support the food bar". so i think i speak for me, and all the dwarven miners, GET RID OF THE HUNGER BAR.
Course even then you would have to have food in case you got hurt, right? I actually eat a lot LESS food now even though I'm usually sprinting as well as mining and such. I personally love the new hunger bar as I can survive much easier and more realistically (sort of) now
Still, in cases where people don't like this change then I'm sure it will be modded at some point if it isn't already. Would be nice to have it with a toggle option for those who don't like it though.
But what if I want to build something that's large enough that I can't afford enough torches to stop Creepers from spawning? Or what if I want to build something that gives plenty of areas for Creepers to spawn in hidey holes or around overhangs that they can easily drop down on me from? Why is this not as viable a complaint as someone who is complaining that they don't want to build enough of a moat, or put enough torches around to prevent the Endermen?
This is utterly no difference at all between my post and what these people are crying about. If you want to purposely do something that will allow mobs to trouble you somehow, you should not cry about it.
If I built a large castle that I wanted to look dark and gloomey, and I had the outside dimly lit, do I have the right to cry when a Creeper drops down from a parapet and blows apart my front door? Yes, but I'd look like a massive idiot for doing so.
You're missing the point. The problem is that if a creeper blows up then it was probably YOUR fault and was preventable through you killing it quickly and carefully (though not always). Enderman just mindlessly pick stuff up even if you aren't there and move it around, which isn't scary or challenging... just annoying.
I completely agree! They are certainly annoying, but people are overreacting.
I agree, most people are indeed overreacting. Though ironically I think the main reason for it is the few people who keep venomously arguing that they SHOULD keep up their mindless actions and calling everyone else cowards (not all of them do it, just saying). If it wasn't for that I think this thing would just be another tweak that some people would wish to see rather than a heated debate.
That being said, if an Enderman removed a block that was holding in something like.. say... lava, and it spilled out onto my flammable house that was originally under no threat, then I'd be a bit P.O'ed myself
Oh no, the creeper snuck up on me and made a massive hole outside my house...
Oh no, the creeper dropped down on me and exploded for no real reason.
Oh no, the creeper accidentally got shot by a skeleton arrow then went over to the skelton and blew it up. Along with the side of my house.
Creepers are a failed mob.
See? I can play this game of stupidity, too. There are plenty of ways to prevent the Endermen from trashing your stuff.
Creepers only destroy stuff if you are nearby and **** them off. Endermen just make a mess even if you're not actually there so it isn't even your fault at that point.
Plus the only "easy" ways to prevent them from trashing stuff is lighting every square inch so they don't spawn anywhere nearby or putting water over everything. Neither of which works for people who like to build nice looking or intricate things. Plus, they'd still destroy the landscape even then. You can't light everything.
Enderman can NOT PICK UP player placed blocks only blocks spawned from the world generation. Well atleast thats what I heard, If they are destroying your stuff it could be a bug, and you can simply resolve it by doing what RexBox said, Making a canal around your house or something like that.
If someone would do that you might as well play on peaceful... :smile.gif:
Actually they CAN take player placed blocks, as has been demonstrated multiple times on other videos and with pictures of them holding things such as TNT blocks.
I've heard that in rare cases this can happen, but have never seen it myself. Pretty cool that you found an area with the fence supports though :smile.gif:
With 2 players, you can take LOTS of em. Just keep your friend looking at them, get some water yourself, and drop some water.
Or, just drop water where you are, and let the enderman come, just stay in the main block, even if there are thousands of them, you will not die, they will get knocked back and damaged.
Yeah, I led the first one into a lake just for fun but the others I wanted to die from so I just dodged and punched the whole time. Still killed them until they finally ganged up on me while I was neglecting my food resources
Actually I've got the same thing. I occassionally have small lag spikes but I'm also usually recording so that could just be FRAPs making a new file at that point. Even while recording in 1080p quality with the fancy graphics in MC, I still get 60+ FPS most of the time.
I agree. During some of my LP episodes I took on like four endermen in one night and was TRYING to die. It finally took getting two of them to team up on me to kill me, and I didn't even have a weapon.
Cave exploring is definitely the best now. I've got more iron than I know what to do with right now but yet I keep running out of cobble since I don't ever do branch mining anymore.

Only thing I notice is that my farms keep getting ran over by stupid chickens :angry.gif:
