From a scientific point of view, it is indeed considered "silly" to believe that fictional creatures exist.

I know. Kind of disappointed but not really surprised. From my experience, a lot of guys in the minecraft community act really creepy to any girls they encounter.
A lot of guys in general, not really specific to the Minecraft community. It's awful.
Uhh, no. Trans people often still identify as male or female. There are, however, plenty of other genders not defined within the binary.

Yeah, not helping.

Beltir posted a message on Minecraft Forum Community sucks - Rules are too strict herePosted in: Forum Discussion & Info
So let's say there's this kid who decides to join the forum and becomes a regular. He is very immature however, and constantly makes stupid suggestions such as flying witches or stuff like that. He also makes comments that don't make sense and makes threads celebrating his accomplishments that are pointless. He also asks ppl to join his tiny server. Overall, his post quality sucks. And there's only so much you can do with ignoring people. How would you get him to improve his ways instead of insulting him?
I'd reply to the content of his posts in the cases of the bad suggestions/threads pointing out the issues, report his posts that are off-topic/don't make sense or threads that are spam, especially if he's requesting people to join his server in unrelated topics, and if I was getting too annoyed dealing with his posts, I wouldn't reply. Really not that hard at all. Get a job where you have to deal with people who don't know how to do their job telling you how to do yours, and you have to listen because they're your boss's boss. Let's see how long you're employed if you insult and swear at that person.
Good thing you don't have your way then, because that'd make for a poor community if everyone swore and insulted everyone that annoyed them.
People have been saying that these rules would make more little kids join this forum. That is actually mostly bad for this site. Even if it might populate this forum more since parents would allow their kids to participate here, it will also let in a bunch of minds that haven't quite matured yet. That is why post-2012 post quality has died down and we've been getting worse and worse threads. It is a shame that the nowadays the admins only care about member-count and post-count instead of post quality.
Well, this isn't at all the case. Most people that visit the site do so as a guest, so just because we don't allow swearing means that everyone is going to be sub 10 years old with immature minds, but it does mean that there are several that are reading the threads. It isn't about "getting little kids to join this site", it's about allowing every person, no matter their background, age, or maturity, to be comfortable viewing threads on this site without having to worry about offensive content.
Post quality has gotten worse? Looks about the same to me since 2010. There is always a mixture of high quality posts and low quality posts. I remember when there was a chat thread full of spam, nearly every popular thread had someone trying to insert swear words because it makes them look cool and angry, and when there were vicious members insulting anyone who disagreed with them or annoyed them. Those weren't quality posts, and those were common pre-2012.
It isn't about member count or post count, at all. It's about the comfort of people to use this site safely.
We also don't allow a whole bunch of other things that many people view as "not so bad." Like porn, gore, spam (both advertisements and '+1" posts), harassment, death threats, and many other things that are common on the internet, and those are done for pretty much the same reason that swearing and insulting others are not allowed.
I'll ask you what I ask everyone when this topic comes up.
What value does swearing or insulting other members have that makes it more important than allowing people to comfortably use this site? Do you really think if you insult someone they're going to pay any attention to what you say, or are they going to be more likely to either just get mad at you or ignore you? Why should we tell people that aren't comfortable with swearing or insulting if it isn't necessary to do? If it is, where in this post should I have inserted swearing or insults directed at you, because I don't see any? - To post a comment, please login.

I would be more inclined to say slime blocks instead of honey, as slime is already clearly a "sticky" substance, such as with sticky pistons. I suppose you could say both, though. I'm not opposed.

How have things been going here? I recently started playing Minecraft again after like, a 5 year break. I see a lot of retired staff now, but I don't even think a regular staff member is signed in right now. Do you guys need a hand around here? I think I'd certainly need a refresher course if I was gonna come back, but if it's needed, I'm open to it.
EDIT: I just saw citric and Puyo are both retired now. Who's in charge now?

As Badprenup said, the way it currently is is much more in line with the actual way glass is made and colored. I don't see why you'd want to make the system more unrealistic when it's already fairly spot on. Not to mention, of course, that the only confirmed crystal is amethyst (and emerald and diamonds, as those already exist). We just don't know if there would even be enough crystals to make all, what, 16 colors of stained glass? And of course, as tow4rzysz alluded to, these gems are seemingly going to be quite rare/valuable, so absolutely having to use them just for stained glass seems like a pain. Seems like this could only server to irritate players by making a once rather simple process unnecessarily difficult.
However, I'm not opposed to a NEW semi-transparent block that is made using crystal shards.

I'm surprised to see Pastmaster retired.

Words are just words. I know you're just 8, but the words society defines as profane are entirely arbitrary. You could say "butt" or "darn" instead, but they have the exact same meaning, don't they? We aren't your parents, so we can't tell you what to do or not do (though I'd argue even your parents don't own you; all they're supposed to do is make sure you grow into a decent adult), but being sheltered never helped anyone. Clearly you've already heard the words before and you know well enough not to say them at school (the rebel in me wants to say ignore those rules, but it may not end well for you. I'd play nice until middle school). No harm will come to you from just hearing the words, so I don't see the issue.

Why do you always misquote the staff and try to make it sound like they're harassing you for laughs?
Also, you make it sound like the admins are locking every thread you have. I just checked and you only have a single locked thread, and it's the other thread you made trying to insult the staff and claim that they are harassing you. It's not harassment simply because you've been infracted, that's just you breaking a rule and the staff doing their job.

I'm gonna try the unthinkable and actually discuss the topic.
Why do you have a crush on them if they aren't even your friend? I get it, I've had the feeling when I was a lot younger (middle school). I asked a girl out that I used to walk home with in middle school, and her rejection came in the form of a series of lies. From then on, I decided to actually wait until I was good friends with a girl, and thus knew her fairly well, until I even bothered striving for any sort of relationship. So, I did not ask anyone out again until I was 16. Again, rejection, but this time with a year of stringing me along, and eventually I got fed up with it. She used to be my best friend, and now I haven't talked to her in a few years.
Then, at age 17, a short-lived kind-of-relationship, the details of which I'd really rather not discuss, and then, the month before turning 18, finally the start of what I'm guessing is my final relationship, as we've been together for almost 3 years now and plan to get married.
So yeah, long story short, don't even make yourself think you like a person unless you actually know them. The illusion cast by infatuation can be shattered once you actually get to know a person.
