Imagine entering a new server and seeing a library full of books of adventures and lore. Then entering another room and seeing chests of custom records. I for one would think it would be awesome.
You could hide a ambush point in a mountain or possibly an entire fort. Also, how would you prevent a army popping out of the Nether at the center of your fort?
A good feature is a seemingly empty room with a simple puzzle near the end of the dungeon. When the player completes the puzzle, though, the entrances seal and rooms full of monsters open. The player must kill all the monster and reopen the doors by activating a lever in one of the rooms.
I always make a underground home at first. This is usually a series of rooms connected together. My permanent house is ether under water with glass dome connected with glass tunnels or I hollow out a two sided cliff face and build the walls with glass.
