Position You Are Looking for: I'd like to be one of the people that does things using WorldEdit mainly. If that's Admin in your book, then I'm willing to do a lot of things for it.
Why You Would like this position: I just want to build things. A lot of things. Really once you set me going I can self-regulate.
How You Will Help The Server: I've done administration before. It's tough. Because of that, I have the experience I need on most fronts to handle a server. If elected... er chosen, sorry force of habit, I will:
    • Net you a few solid players
    • Police as necessary
    • Assist in or Run investigations
    • Learn and understand plugins to better manage server
    • Build things. Many interesting things.
    • Assist on the tech side. A lot.
    • Keep on Playing.
    • Bread and Circuses.
Notes: I build for practicality. If It needs to be a boring square it can be a boring square, if that's how it's going to fit. And by the by, 10.0.0.2 is an internal IP address used by some routers. If you're hosting this at home, you'll want the IP as given by http://www.whatsmyip.org/. You'll also want to ensure that you set your IP address to be static, unless you want to keep notifying us every time it changes. I reccommend (http://portforward.c...ng/staticip.htm) their guides on this one. If you have an outside host, you'll want to give us the IP you connect to and the correct port. Being a first time host is difficult, but you'll figure things out in time.

How about when you put an ore into the smeltery, you get some seared stone along with the liquid metal, but it's not a full block, just enough to be annoying.

This question isn't directed to anyone in particular... should I separate out the texture packs into different threads? Have a new one for heavenly, that sort of thing?

I would recommend splitting the thread if you're looking for feedback specifically on the certain flavors, or simply to see which is the most popular. It also gives the chance to use each and every first post as examples of the unique twist of each flavor. If you are ready to update 7 threads at once (and/or possibly an index for simple linking around), then it may just be worth your while.

    Got myself a whole leather set of armor today, and noticed that the color was a bit off. The pattern for the set was heavenly (like I'd picked in the customizer), but instead of pale leather it was all brown o_O;

I'd just redone my download (to fix the dispenser bit), and grabbed a set of leather from my server's storage building. This is when I'd noticed the odd color.

I feel really bad that I keep finding these things... blar.

This one is actually due to the way Minecraft handles leather armor now. Instead of using a standard texture, colors and all, it uses a base texture (which can be recolored) and a secondary pattern texture (on the default leather armor these are the little accents on the kneecaps, top of the head etc.) which retains its color. This allows for dying of armor but leads to... well this.

Well the only advice I can offer is with structure.

Take a look at what humans have accomplished. Classical, Roman, Renaissance, Modern.

Now forget everything. Take a few moments to think of something entirely original, and the build will feel a lot more personal, and have a slice of your soul put in. Even if it's a failure, you'll still be the first, and people respect originality. Plus, you can go back to those ideas, and refine. Experimenting can prove useless if you learn nothing. If something failed, ask yourself why, and if you don't have the answer, ask someone who does. It takes a lot of work, elbow grease and whatnot, but is far more worth it when you have... I don't want to say anything to spoil the creativity.

TL:DR, Build, and then think why it works or doesn't.

I've added this texture pack to the Minecraft Wiki's texture pack list, with a modified version of the defauilt banner.

I'm not sure if anyone actually uses it though. Just thought I'd tell ya.

As a regular player of survival mode, I don't usually use chain armor. But when I'm messing around with friends, it's pretty much the only thing I wear. Also, haven't posted here in a while, and I have to say, excellent work Thistle. Keep doing this crazy magic you do.

    Paragraph:

I'd like to take a moment to analyze some recent events in popular internet culture.

Recently Facebook decided, as a company, to begin selling public stock of itself. Though most would call my view depressive, I knew that the stock would fail. Why? All of their money is either split with casual game developers, or comes from advertising, a topic I may elaborate on later in this paragraph. Any seasoned user of the internet either does not click on banner ads in the first place, or simply uses an ad-blocking plugin for whatever reason. But this was not the only reason this stock failed to impress traders everywhere. This opinion was widespread enough that most people who were playing the market at the time allowed the stock to fail, because they knew they would not profit from it. Thus shows the inherit truth behind most, if not all businesses. If you want to make money, you need a product. However, this recent development may have shown that the product in question must come from the business itself. But a business, is in no way a product.

Wow. Seems to be a lot of specialization happening here.

And I cannot say I don't like seeing how many packs this will become.

(It's looking like six right now.)

    4. A little bit about me: I've been playing minecraft since the alpha days. Back when texture packs were a lot more like mods, and snow was just a far off dream. I know a lot about the game, but I try not to be smug about it. I'm self sufficient, but help others whenever possible. I like to build away from the main structures, just to see if people will come. I'm just want somewhere to survive again, with people who don't have to grief for resources.
    Hopefully, this is the place.
