posted a message on SimCity 5 - Is it worth the money?
When the game works, it's fun. However, you get burnt out and bored after playing it for about a week and then you won't be playing it any more. Why? The game is too limiting. City tiles are too small and can't be connected to each other.

Once you full multiple maps up, its just gets repetitive and boring.

posted a message on Bumping Server Problem
    Quote from Deanfvjr

    Hi!

Ive discovered(And Im sure Im not the first) that a ton of the server posts in the minecraft forums are always at the top of the list 24/7. Many of them also have 25k replies or 20k replies and Ive found have MUCH less members than that would mean on at one time. I am trying to ask if these servers should be banned from reposts as they should because they have obviously been bumped over and over and over and over. It would make it alot better for most servers to actually post on the forums.

Dont kill me if this is a problem that cant be fixed, in that case Ill just advertise somewhere else.
    THANKS!

What exactly do you see that would be considered bumping?

If you feel these servers are bumping, please report the infringing posts and we will look into it.

The reason some of those threads have 25,000 posts is because they've been around for a long time and have extremely large communities.

Not really, we just didn't enable negrep because of abuse. :)

Well, he wants to take away a point he already added, not add a negative rep point.

Nope, sorry. The devs of the forum software we use overlooked that.

The only way to actually remove rep is by editing the actual forum database directly.. In this case, that most likely can't be done.

What are you trying to put in your sig that isn't working?

Also note that your current sig isn't showing a picture.

Here's a guide on how to upload your own pics and put them in your sig: (Open the Spoiler)

You can apply as many times as you'd like. However, if you're denied, you need to change something, or you'll just keep being denied.

posted a message on What Type of Advertisements Are/Are Not Allowed?
Ads here need to follow the following guidelines:
    • Family Friendly. (I.E. No cursing/sexual content, etc.)
    • Have no sound.
    • Do not cause popups. (Note "popups" does not include the ad that scrolls with you down the page.)
    • Do not download malicious content.
I'm sure there are a few more. If there are, citricsquid or someone similar should reply with that info soon.

If advertisements are breaking the above rules, please report them by private messaging citricsquid

posted a message on A Topic to stop unlicensed downloading of minecraft
Ok, you seriously think that it's possible to remove every single Minecraft file all of everywhere on the net? (As that's the only way to stop piracy besides removing offline mode.)

That's impossible. Good luck getting access and looking through billions of servers. Then you'll have to do it again because people will re-upload their files again and again.

posted a message on Advice for running a server?
Here's some advice; it's coypasted from an argument I had with someone a few days ago.

    ----

#1 - If you think the amount of donations are what determines how good a server is, you've got it all wrong. Community comes first. That means choosing good staff and monitoring them well. Your community decides how good your server is -- not donations.

#2 - Your players should be telling you about what they like and dislike about your server.
If you act by telling them "you can't run our server" you're basically saying: "You don't matter; we do whatever the **** we want and don't care about your opinion." Treat your players' inputs like gold, they're the key to fixing things and making a great server.
At least take into account what everyone says; you don't have to actually implement what they ask for, just nicely explain why not instead of rudely telling them their opinion doesn't matter. (tl;dr Be nice and take people's suggestions into account even if you don't implement them.)

#4 - Maybe your old leadership styles wont work this time? You need to change to manage different people. You can keep the same foundation, but everyone is different and how you act as a leader should slightly change to accommodate change.
