    posted a message on [CHALLENGE]Ultimate Shelter Challenge (Not a Map)
    Hello,
    this is my thread for a challenge I like to call...

    Now, you are probably asking, "What the heck is Ultimate Shelter Challenge?" Well, that is what I want to tell you!

    The purpose of this challenge is to, while following certain rules, create a house with all the things that are listed. Can you do it? It's a tough challenge, and it will take a LOT of time and resources.

    Some of you may be a little... overwhelmed... of how many things there are. There is almost 100 required
    things to build (I think I counted 98), and two optional challenges. That makes 100 challenges total!

    Later on in this post, I will let you download a Word Document. I recommend that, if you do not have Microsoft Word, use a free program called OpenOffice.org. You will need it in order to open the document. This document tells you everything you need to do, and you can make the goals a certain colour (like green) for when you accomplish them. Most of the things in this document come from this wiki page.

    Ultimate Shelter Challenge was somewhat inspired by a series that MinecraftUniverse did with some of his friends in late 2011. If you would like to watch the series, please click .
    That page on the wiki has updated since then, and I want to see who can do this challenge.

    Now, on to the rules...

    1. No creative
    2. You may enable cheats, in case you ever need them.
    3. Your goal is to do everything on that list.
    4. Try not to feel forced to do things on the list. You can do your own things, like exploring, when you need to.
    5. You may use a seed to get an advantageous spawn. Try not to use an "easy [insert good material here like diamond]" seed, however.
    6. You may make the rooms any way you'd like.
    7. You must start from scratch. No using a village, stronghold, cave, or any other natural structure. Exceptions are Trees, and Abandoned Mineshafts.
    8. If recording on YouTube, be sure to provide a link to the forum thread.
    9. Have fun!
    (Feeling anything else should be a rule? Post it below!)

    Well, now you will need to have the document in order to get started! This may take you a very long time to finish, but if you believe, you CAN do it!

    Currently using: MediaFire (Direct Link)
    PDF Version
    Uses: MediaFire (Direct Link)

    - Added 2 new challenges to expansions: Victory Room and Record Farm
    - Total count of goals is now 102 (100 required)

    - Better sorting: Description in Core Features is now oblique (italic), and the goals are now bold.
    - Now displays the amount of goals per section, and the overall total

    - Initial Release: 100 Challenges

    Like this challenge? Show it some support by liking the post and setting this code as your signature...

    It'll look like this...

    Think you can make a cool banner? Show me one! If I like it, I might add it to the list. Credit will be given. :D

    Thanks,
    Pikadex

    This is the crash report I get.

     @PreInit
    public void preload(FMLPreInitializationEvent preinit) {
    Configuration config = new Configuration(preinit.getSuggestedConfigurationFile());
    config.load();

    SlimeJellyID=config.getItem("Slime Jelly ID", 17474).getInt();
    SlimeJellyBlockID=config.getBlock("Placed Slime Jelly ID", 235).getInt();
    EggYolkID=config.getItem("Egg Yolk ID", 17475).getInt();
    SlimeBlockID=config.getBlock("Slime Block ID", 236).getInt();
    ReinforcedSlimeBlockID=config.getBlock("Reinforced Slime Block ID", 237).getInt();

    config.save();
    }

    This is the code I use to load the config file.

    #######################
    # Configuration file #			 <--- I reccommend use of Notepad++.
    #######################
    # Note that the ID #
    # for the items is #
    # the displayed ID #
    # plus 256.		 #
    #######################
    # DATA VALUE CONFIG # <--- Change the Data Values of the Items and Blocks.
    #######################
    #ITEM ID CONFIGURATION#			 <--- ID = Displayed ID + 256.
    #######################
    Slime Jelly ID=17474
    # Default = 17474

    Egg Yolk ID=17475
    # Default = 17475
    ########################
    #BLOCK ID CONFIGURATION# <--- ID = Exactly as it appears.
    ########################
    Placed Slime Jelly ID=235
    # Default = 235

    Slime Block ID=236
    # Default = 236

    Reinforced Slime Block ID=237
    # Default = 237
    #######################

    And this is the config file itself. I don't see really any problems, but a line you may have noticed in the crash report is:

    java.lang.RuntimeException: 'Slime Jelly ID' has no scope in '/config/SlimesExtended.cfg:13'

    Well, it does. In my code, I defined Slime Jelly ID. It is spelled correctly, I even pasted the name to be 100% sure (As of 1.5, I have had to made alot of these help topics). Any help would be great!

    Thanks, Pikadex

    Thanks again! Now I'll just need to get the block to negate fall damage, and I'll be done with it. :D

     public void onEntityCollidedWithBlock(World world, int i, int j, int k, Entity entity)
    	 {
    			 entity.motionY += 1.1;
    	 }

    	 public AxisAlignedBB getCollisionBoundingBoxFromPool(World world, int i, int j, int k)

    			 float f = 0.0625F;
    			 return AxisAlignedBB.getBoundingBox((float)i + f, j, (float)k + f, (float)(i + 1) - f, (float)(j + 1) - f, (float)(k + 1) - f);
    	 }

    	 public AxisAlignedBB getSelectedBoundingBoxFromPool(World world, int i, int j, int k)

    			 return AxisAlignedBB.getBoundingBox((float)i + f, j, (float)k + f, (float)(i + 1) - f, j + 1, (float)(k + 1) - f);
    	 }

    These are the lines of code that I have that allow the block to make you "jump" high in the air. What I want to do is when you hold the "sneak" key, you will not bounce. I have a feeling it has to do making an "if" statement around entity.motionY, but I'm really not sure on how I can make this work. :/ Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks, Pikadex

    Oh! I was thinking that, but then I dismissed that thought. I'll see if lowering the ID will fix it. :)

    You haven't registered your mod with FML.

    http://www.minecraft...i/Basic_Modding

    I did that with SlimesExtended.class, so I didn't think that would be necessary for SlimesExtendedItems.class. Thanks.
    I moved the code for the Slime Jelly into SlimesExtended.class, and now I crash when I attempt to playtest. Apparently, it has to do with lines of code not matching up to a certain line in Items.class.
    	 if (itemsList[256 + par1] != null)
    	 {
    		 System.out.println("CONFLICT @ " + par1 + " item slot already occupied by " + itemsList[256 + par1] + " while adding " + this);
    	 }

    These apparently don't match up to ^^that^^:
    ItemJelly.class
     public ItemJelly(int id) {
    super(id);
    maxStackSize = 1;
    setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabFood);
    setUnlocalizedName("jelly");
    }

    SlimesExtended.class
     public static Item slimeJelly = new ItemJelly(81470)
    								 .setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabFood)
    								 .setUnlocalizedName("jelly");

    Looks like I need help again. ._.

    Guys! Stop rushing for this mod to be updated! 1.5 changed a lot of things, and updating a mod to it is quite a pain in the neck, and the more blocks/items you have, the bigger the pain. If you really want to use this mod, downgrade to 1.4.7 or something.

    Hello. I am having trouble creating myself an item. I have looked at multiple tutorials, and I am pretty much lost. When I open Minecraft, it does not appear in the food tab. I try to spawn it using /give [PLAYERNAME] [ITEMID] 1, but I receive an error. I probably made a stupid mistake somewhere, so I am going to post my code here...

    		GameRegistry.registerItem(slimeJelly, "jelly");
    		LanguageRegistry.addName(slimeJelly, "Slime Jelly");
    	}
    }

    Oh, and I have no errors. Please help me out.
    Thanks, Pikadex.

    The above has been solved. I now have a NEW problem...

Apparently, it has to do with lines of code not matching up to a certain line in Items.class.
    	 if (itemsList[256 + par1] != null)
    	 {
    		 System.out.println("CONFLICT @ " + par1 + " item slot already occupied by " + itemsList[256 + par1] + " while adding " + this);
    	 }

    These apparently don't match up to ^^that^^:
    ItemJelly.class
     public ItemJelly(int id) {
    super(id);
    maxStackSize = 1;
    setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabFood);
    setUnlocalizedName("jelly");
    }

    SlimesExtended.class
     public static Item slimeJelly = new ItemJelly(81470)
    								 .setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabFood)
    								 .setUnlocalizedName("jelly");

    Looks like I need help again. ._.
    EDIT: Strangely, I don't have a crash report for it.

    Everything is solved! :)

    posted a message on Mutant Creatures - Spider Pig, Spider Pig [v1.4.9]
    Mutant Spider. Something that looks very hideous. Infecting it would work with both Spider and Cave Spider. ;) She could have around 120 hearts or something.

    Time Matters: Much like the normal spiders, the Mutant version prefers not to attack you when it is bright. But once that light level drops, she will think of you as a tasty treat!

    No Escape: If you are to get too far from the Mutant Spider, she will shoot string at you, which will pull you towards her, and deal maybe 2 or 3 hearts of damage.

    Speed Boost: The mutant spider doesn't have eight legs for nothing. Sometimes, the mutant spider will go faster by using more energy. Of course, she'll have to rest before she does it again. Get her while she is tired!

    Melee: Get out of here! Don't get too close, or Ms. Mutant Spider will thwack you with her leg! This will deal 4 hearts of damage ignoring armor, and knock you way back! She could even knock you far enough that she has to pull you back with string. You also have a 50% chance of being poisoned!

    Minions: The Mutant Spider is a mother! On occasion, she will spawn up to 10 minions, which is a random mix of Spiders and Cave Spiders. Oh, and while these minions exist, the Mutant Spider will have a slight speed boost, and deal a bit more damage when she uses melee. She wants to protect her children.

    Sticky Stompers: If there is a wall, the Mutant Spider can climb it. She can jump down on to you, and she will take no fall damage. If she succeeds, you will take damage. The higher she is, the more damage you will take. The cap for damage would be around 7 hearts of damage

    It's Not Over Yet: When it looks like you killed the Mutant Spider, watch out! She might just be faking, and when you go to get her loot... POW! She will jump at you, causing 56 hearts of damage, and knocking you back so hard, you might go right through the weak materials, like dirt, grass, sand, gravel, and sandstone! Each block you go through has a 50% chance of causing a half heart of damage. She might need to pull you back, which is even more damage, possibly killing you. It's best to just wait, she'll eventually get bored of waiting.

    Death: If you manage to kill the Mutant Spider for real, you have to go up to her and cut open her body. Her corpse will remain there without despawning, if you don't have a sword. You must hit the corpse with a sword a few times, and she'll eventually open up, leaving you with string, some equipment of her previous prey, and a special item...

    Drop: What is the special item? Well, it's the Spider String Sack (or whatever). What does it do? Well, if you have string in your inventory, you can use them to pull over your prey, just like the Mutant Spider's attack! It causes 2 hearts of damage, and can be used as a fishing rod, if you REALLY want to. It will work for 100 uses, and can be repaired with Spider Eyes and String.

    I hope some of you like this idea! :)

    posted a message on [1.5][UNSOLVED]Replacing a Mob Spawn
    Hello,
    Currently, I am thinking about creating a mod which extends slimes, and that includes making them tame-able. The problem is, I do not want to edit a base class. Is it possible to make a mob (in this case, the slime) not spawn (without editing a base class), so I can replace it with a slime with tweaks to it? Preferably, is it possible to edit the Slime with a different class? I hope I can get some help with this.
    Thanks, Pikadex

    posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)

    Bug report:

    OptiFine Version A4 Ultra
    MC verson 1.5
    LWJGL Version 2.8.5 (manually updated)
    Other mods: Rei's Minimap, ZaphodX's SMP Capes

    Description: When Optifine is installed, right- and left-clicking will stop all walking. E.G., you're walking towards a zombie, you smack it, you stop in place.
    Tested uninstalling the other mods, running Vanilla, different versions of LWJGL, and a few other trials. This has been done on multiple computers, and after extensive testing, has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be caused by OptiFine.

    Anyway, this is so game-crippling as to actually warrant an uninstall. :steve_tearful:

    Do you have Minecraft Forge? If you do, you can't have it. OptiFine is currently incompatible with Forge. You'll have to use ModLoader. Also, try MagicLauncher. It's extremely helpful when enabling and disabling mods. ;)

    Perhaps you can offer some insight here. I've been having this problem with optifine. It only happens with optifine installed (it's the only mod I use now). I really just wanna play minecraft:)

    http://pastebin.com/xCvhN8SG

    I'll be playing and my window will just close. It'll just be gone. After which I can find that above error in the .minecraft folder. Always points to nvogl64.

    I prefer to use magic launcher, but it also happens when manually installing the mod and using the stock launcher. Tried SKMC's launcher too, same bad result.

    What I've tried:
    Updated video drivers
    Downgraded video drivers
    Updated/complete removed/reinstalled java
    Tried java 8 (As you can see in the given error)
    Deleted .minecraft, redownloaded etc.
    Running java and minecraft.exe in compatibility mode (xp, 7, vista etc)
    Dedicating more/less RAM to minecraft
    Tried with SLI disabled
    Even tried removing my second video card completely
    Updating LWGL

    This has actually been happening to me since 1.4.7. Just didn't have time to investigate and troubleshoot...now that I do, it's really frustrating.

    Here's a DXDiag:
    http://pastebin.com/Vederia8

    You'll notice I'm using beta nvidia drivers. I've been using the WHQL drivers from nvidia, the non beta ones, with the same results. As you can tell, I've tried pretty much everything, ha.

    This doesn't happen when using stock minecraft...but with 1.5 especially, optifine is important, otherwise I get mad stuttering:(

    My specs:
    CPU: Intel i7 2600k @ 4.7GHz
    GPU: 2xGTX 680s in SLI
    RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz
    Motherboard: ASUS Maximus V Formula
    SSD: Crucial M4 256GB (Minecraft runs off this; have tried running it from HDD)
    OS: Windows 8 Enterprise x64

    Oh and before you ask, I didn't buy dual 680s for Minecraft:P

    Thank you:)

    I'm not sure, but one of these MIGHT help you, since you are using Windows 8...
