okay but really, my goal is too make a building to the clouds, that has rooms and decorations in every floor, while alternating materials every 2 rooms. (not just a long pole with something at the top). iyou could try that too i guess
or fill the world with wheat and sugar cane!

i smelted iron and i didn't get an achievement for that so maybe its just the game

what is the limit? 2 above cloud level?
that looks pretty cool too

i only got one 5 stories high ( about 30 - 35 blocks high maybe)
made it out of dirt, cobblestone, and wooden planks using the better materials as i go up

also is there hay or anything like it in the pc version? (since its the newest version of minecraft)

well i made a room and closed it off with an iron door and had the a redstone torch underneath it with a lever that will close or open it connected to the torch, this is hidden behind a wall that blends in well with the house and there is a chest in the room to seem to give it purpose.
are there any other ways to make a locked room?

you can jump out that usually slows the cart down greatly

it cant be on the first floor, if it is it has to be in a very small separate room from the first room you made for the house

but how will you get red stone that early in the game to start up the economy?

i know wheat can but is that it? can anything else be farmed? i thought i heard someone say they had a mushroom farm but is that true?

if i were to tunnel underground to the end of the map and reach the ocean, would source blocks shoot out of the hole that is made?
