    2) When swapping runes on the altar, the altar gets clipped to the capacity of the prior tier, which does seem reasonable as it's temporarily unqualified for the higher tier.

You can avoid that loss by using a Wand of Equal Trade to replace the runes. Other block-swappers may also work, such as the Resonant Exchanger.

You need stuff on the plinths to change the biome. It's a little convoluted, and will change when I implement it in 1.10.

I have a single block of ice. Maybe I need more? In any case, I thought it just defaulted to plains if it couldn't find a biome to match the items.

I haven't seen any recent posts on Ritual of Gaia's Transformation. I'm running Regrowth modpack 0.8.8 which has BloodMagic-1.7.10-1.3.3-13. I can't get it to work.

I've seen two layouts online, one with eight Arcane Plinths around the Master Ritual Stone, and one with four plinths around and above it and a perimiter of Large Bloodstone Bricks. Both give the message "Nothing appears to have happened..." when I right-click with the Awakened Activation Crystal. I have 1.64 million LP and a single block of ice in one of the plinths.

I also tried it with 4 and 8 plinths on the same Y-level as the ritual and the bricks on the Y-level above.

    Any ideas?

Does anyone know how the Alfheim Bee works? Can I use it to generate mana, and if so how, other than by dropping the drones onto a Beegonia?

Re Direwolf20's aversion to using Ignobe Bees... I don't get it. Just use the Ignoble princess to breed up a bunch of drones, and when she dies, use those drones to coerce a pristine Rocky Princess into being the same kind of bee as the lost princess. End of problem.

Alumentum. Cook your wood into charcoal, and make an alumentum factory using the Arcane Construct.

Is this the place to report bugs? Because I have one:

No. The FTB team have separate areas for launcher support and mod pack bugs. Would you mind removing or spoiler-tagging the huge log dump in your post?

Does anyone know if there's a way to selectively kill mobs, for instance with MFFS? Because that way, Dire could get rid of the light mages to stop them fighting the creepers.

p.s. we need to point tech support requests to the FTB support site or mod pack bug thread. Too many support-related posts in this thread will get it locked.

There is an annoying lack of ravines, caves and lava in my world so far, but I found some more of the stuff in the meantime. Apparently being close to sea-level helps. Also, I didn't know about x-ray machines and read up about them. Is that a legitimate way to do things? Seems like an exploit to me.

    Yeah it's totally an exploit.

Has anyone else trouble finding Certus Quartz? It appears in the second episode, used for creating the grindstone, but I've been mining for a quite bit and found only two blocks of the ore (yes I know it only appears above the diamond layer). I find tons of other metals and resources, enough to fill a double chest, but no more Certus Quartz. I'll being going directly to Thermal Expansion for ore doubling since I already have all the stuff I need for that, but I'm worried about needing more Certus later and were to find it.

Build an x-ray machine (fences and redstone blocks), Certus Quartz renders as air blocks so if you see a 1 or 2 block hole, it's likely to be CQ. I find that just about every ravine has at least 1 CQ visible in the wall though so if you've checked a few ravines and found none then there's something wrong with your worldgen.

Then there might be something wrong with my launcher or is it just me :/ ?

Have you clicked on the version dropdown? It might not be the "recommended" version so you have to opt in to it. Looks like 1.0.19 is the recommended one right now.

I was just wondering, does anyone know what happened to minecraft 1.3 because when I see stuff, dire did a LP in mc 1.2.5 (season 4) and then in mc 1.4.7 (season 5) and on the ftb launcher there are packs of 1.2.5 and 1.4.7 and later but I can't seem to find anything like a 1.3.x mod or mod pack. did the modding community just pause for a mc version or what did it do?

It seems to me that the odd-numbered minor versions (1.3.x, 1.5.x, 1.7.x) have major internal changes, and the even numbers stabilize and build on those changes with new features. So the odd numbers are both more difficult for modders, and less attractive to users. This may not be a deliberate policy, but it seems to be how things turn out.

Demanding that modders must create documentation as well as producing fantastic mods is utterly outrageous. If someone gives you a sandwich, would you demand napkins or you won't eat their sandwich? Someone gives you money, would you demand a wallet or you won't spend it? @AlgorithmX2, you just do what you want to do. If you want to make documentation, great. If you don't, someone else will. MineCraft itself has no documentation, and is proud of it.
