Will buy a WiiU because of this and a few other games, Earthbound is up at the top of games I wish I got a chance to play but was too young/oblivious to get. People have been asking this for FOREVER, wonder why it took them so long.

posted a message on All Halo Games Should Be Rated T
Really once someone can accurately distinguish the game from reality, and have learned to not imitate everything they see, they should be able to play it, barring a few exceptions. A big chunk of M games should be rated T, and a good chunk of T games should be rated E10 or and so on. I think it's so funny that Pirates of the Carribean is rated PG13, when by the time they turn thirteen the movie practically to childish for them, "Oh sorry johnny, you're only twelve, you can't watch this movie".

Of course, practically no one ever listens the ESRB, CARA, PEGI and such.

Also, I find it hilarious the lastest LoZ games are 15+ in Australia.

posted a message on Seeking RTS Resource Gathering Type Games
Starcraft 2, Command and conquer, and Company of heroes would be worth looking into, also keep an eye out for planetary annihilation, it's not out yet but looks like it'll be pretty cool. There aren't that many modern resource gathering and building RTSs, but if you're not adverse to playing older games than you could find a ton more.

posted a message on Games in 2013!
Watch dogs promises a lot, and if it delivers on all those promises I'm sure it'll be amazing.

In 2013 I'm looking forward to,

    Total war: Rome 2
    GTA V
    The Last of Us
    Command and conquer 2
    Bioshock Infinite
    Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes
SSMB4 (if it even comes out this year, probably won't)
Beyond good and evil 2 (probably won't come out this year)

    And keeping an eye on,

    Dark souls 2
    Dragon Age 3
    Metro: last light
Star Wars 1313 (not sure if it'll come out this year, and actually not sure what's going on with it since Disney bought up LucasArts)
    South Park
    DayZ
    Arma 3
Various Kickstarter games such as Wasteland 2, Planetary Annihilation, Godus, and Shadowrun returns that I highly doubt will come out in 2013

So yeah 2013 looks pretty promising so far, and I'll pick up any 3DS games that look good, but its kinda hard to tell when Nintendo's non-big games will be good.

The Witcher 2 was a phenomenal game. CD Projekt RED is a great company, so I trust that they'll deliver with Witcher 3.

Yeah, I feel like they're one of the few developers that you can really trust aren't going to have some publisher breathing down their necks telling them how to make their game.

posted a message on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Anyone else excited about this game? I'm a huge fan of the witcher games and CD Project Red, and this game looks like it could be pretty awesome. Some info about the game,

    - The world will be 30~ times bigger than the previous game's (claims to be bigger than skyrim's world)
    - No loading screen between sections (thanks to the new CDPR engine)
    - Dynamic weather
    - Dynamic world events
    - Enemies won't scale to Geralt's level.
    - Mounts for both transport and combat
    - 100+ hours of content on release
    - 5X more unique character animations for Geralt
    - Fighting mechanics will be different. Geralt's dodge won't be a sommersault anymore. Instead he will pivot and maintain momentum. You'll be able to interupt attack animations to dodge or block.
    - Due out in 2014 for “all high-end platforms available,” including PC.

    Quote from JayWulf90

Excuse me if I sound stupid, but SSB4 is on the 3DS, correct? I haven't checked in on any Nintendo-related news in a loooooong time.

There are SSB games being worked on for both the WiiU and the 3DS, however it is not known how different/similar they will be, other than the fact that they will be able to 'communicate' with each other in some way.

I heard Namco Bandai was working alongside Nintendo for the next super smash bros .-. could this mean we may see a character from them?

    It's entirely possible.

    1. Click Cancel before the Startup Repair starts.
    2. Then select the option - Command Prompt. This allows you to enter commands.
    3. Type in "bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No" and press Enter.
    4. The next time you boot up your PC, Startup Repair will not start automatically.

I don't think the problem is that it keeps auto selecting startup repair, after all I tried to select boot normally and after 30 minutes of trying to boot it started startup repair again.

One last thing before I bring it in, this morning I got "system recovery options", it lets me select,

    "Startup repair"
    "System restore"
    "System image recovery"
    "Windows memory diagnostic"
    "Command prompt"

Would any of these help me? Sadly I don't think I created a system image, but I suppose one of the last two could do something.

posted a message on The tutorial arguably one of the most key aspects about a game?
I don't think it's one of the most key aspects of a game, but I do think it is something that has a very important impact on the player, and can really make or break the mood of the beginning of a game. I think a game can do great with no/minimal tutorials, just look at minecraft for an example (although I'm sure some people would've liked a tutorial I sort of thought it was fun trying to figure everything out until I couldn't stand it anymore), however I think you start to swim in dangerous waters when you make your tutorials too long/boring. I don't want to have my hand held, I want to be shown how to do it, and be done with it.

I can't really think of any off the top of my head, but there have been some tutorials that have driven me crazy with how long and boring they were and yet how little they taught me.

Startup repair can take upwards of 90 hours to finish depending on the machine.

If it's still running, let it finish.

If it's not, just boot normally.

You didn't really need to run startup repair, but now that you started you should not cancel it.

So uh, a few hours after you posted this it "finished" and rebooted and gave me the same message and options, "run startup repair (recommended)" or "boot normally", so I decided to try and boot normally this time. Well about 30 minutes after it trying to boot it automatically started startup repair again, then I just left it running through the night again since it was past 1 AM, and earlier today it did the same thing, rebooted and gave me the above options, so I'm not sure what to do. Is it stuck in an endless loop, or is this the way it works, requiring you to start it multiple times?

posted a message on Windows error help?
Hey guys, so I've had my new computer for about a month and a half now and it was working great up until recently. It runs on Windows 7 before I say anything else.

For the sake of leaving nothing out, I was trying to play a game (smite to be exact) and it was taking forever to load up, so I decided to open up my task manager to see if it was running. However, upon pressing ctrl+alt+delete my entire screen froze, and then a few seconds later the screen got all blotched up and stayed frozen. I decided to give it a few minutes to see if it would sort itself out. Well it didn't, so I turned my computer off through the power button and it immediately turned off.

Upon turning it back on it said something along the lines of "Windows failed to boot, insert the disc and launch windows startup repair" or something like that, I didn't get a good chance to read it because at this point I left the computer and tried to get my father's advice. When I returned it said more or less the same thing but gave me these options, "Launch windows startup repair (recommended)" or "boot windows normally", I decided to try to launch start up repair so I selected the corresponding choice (at this point the windows disk was put into the optical drive).

The screen went black for about 5 minutes and then windows startup repair popped up and said something like "searching for problems", after about 45 minutes or so, it changed to "repairing disk errors, this may take over an hour". I waited for a few hours and started wondering if it was alright that it was taking this long, so I googled around and it appeared that it did sometimes take a very long time, so I decided to leave it running while I went to bed. Well it's now the next day and nothing has changed, so here I am asking, what are my options? Is there anything I can do to fix this and keep my data?

Information that may or may not be helpful:
OS: Windows 7 64 bit OEM
    CPU: i5 3570k
    Mobo: Asrock extreme 3
    Ram: I think G.skill ripjaw 2x4 GB
    GPU: Sapphire 7950
    PSU: XFX 550w bronze
HDD: WD caviar blue 1TB 7200 rpm

Let me know if you need anything else.
