Just a few things I've noticed:
Smooth Lighting causes a crash when changed on main page via options.
Multiple different lighting failures in the game.
Mountain range is notable bigger than other biomes, a bit overpowering.
Some NPC villages have a stone house that spawns 1 block too low, causing the door to be 1 block high (Confirm this is a bug?)
Friendly mob generator a bit too high? (I saw 16 pigs on my screen 20 blocks from my spawn)
F3 is no longer debug mode, so you can't see mob IDs. (Good call Mojang)
Cloud height raised (No longer floats through buildings, another great change)
So far it's a nice update, still working on reviewing it. Can't wait to Youtube this.

I'd choose the Acer, but there's a weird problem I noticed with both of them;
1MB Graphics Memory
Uh.. 1..mb? Yeah, maybe if you're running Win95. I'd make sure this is a typo before you buy either of them.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a flying magnified fire animation!

There must be a way to get out easy, perhaps it wasn't added in the pre-release. Perhaps.. =/

I deny you the right to use the argument based on the fact that the OP is not basing his suggestion or thread on future updates. He's giving his opinion based on the current status of a feature, and be-damned about any future updates. Unless there is a specific source you have stating that the suggestion he's making has already been replied to/confirmed/denied/etc by a Mojang employee, the only use for your post is to simply gain your user account another +1 on your post count.
Here, since I don't feel like having to reply to you again, I'll go ahead and copy this from the forum rules:
This section is for discussion about the Beta 1.9 update only. Do not discuss other potential future updates in this section.
It is to discuss the Beta 1.9 update. Not to continually post "It will be fixed in a future update", that's not what this forum is for, and unless, again, you have a confirmed source, you make no "discussable" argument to the topic.

Going to tell you something I told someone else.. If you seriously think the "Beta" and "Pre-Release" argument means **** in a forum based on discussing features of an update with their current status, you're dumber than advertised.

EDIT: Ninja'd. Crap. Where'd the delete button go D:

If you don't want to use fence, you can use a single layer of solid blocks around that single water source, but make sure they're two blocks high.
The problem is, without water, the chickens all try to "escape". They end up either glitching through the fence or into the fence, which kills them. That's where water comes in handy. It seems to remove the "escaping" factor from them.
Oh, and a protip. If you use a small confined cage like 1x1 or 2x2, put a light source in there. :smile.gif:

Heh, just sick of seeing what could've been good discussions go to waste because the first 10 posts are "BETA" and "PRE-RELEASE" posts.

If you use the "PRE-RELEASE" or "BETA" argument, you should be banned. Yes, banned. Who gives a **** if it's a pre-release/beta? This section is to discuss the 1.9 features, even if they're not complete. That's what it's all about.
Going to start reporting every post-count whoring "Beta" argument post I see from now on.

Holy moly, this is a banner day for me. Usually the only admins/owners replying to my posts are warning me :3 This is a nice change.
Thanks for the offer, I'll take a look at it. I'm not really too computer knowledgeable when it comes to back-end software/hardware, just the basic knowledge of websites, forums, and servers. I don't know how much I could offer the Curse team.
As for stability, I would agree 100% with you on that issue. Uptime is always the biggest concern when it comes to forums, particularly one where half the active userbase would need to change their pants if it was down for longer than an hour or two (No offense to the userbase). I know the latest stable version is around the 1.0 mark, but I personally believe the 0.8-0.9 would be the best tested at this time. 0.7 is from 2008, so it's really starting to get up there in age.
