You're not making any sense. Do you want realism or not?

    Quote from awesome_cmo

And if that doesn't help than yes, i want realism.

If you want realism, and you claim my suggestions give realism, why do you say you don't like my suggestions?

Im so saying your suggestions dont give realism *facepalm*

You're making no sense. Your OP states you don't like my suggestions because they're realistic. Re-read what you wrote.

Edit:that was edited after i posted this so, this is my responce to the one to me:
Acttually no it doesn't... I said the BREEDING is more realistic

I'm missing your point here? Your turn.

I'm just going to ignore your posts. Your opinion on my thread has changed three times, from "liking it because it's realistic" to "not liking it because it's realistic" and then back again. Make up your mind, write a clear and concise reply to the thread, and I'll take the time to make a post back.

Because apparently adding genders would not make breeding slower and therefore more realistic. Think of the time you'd have to spend gathering both genders of a species, as well the effort you'd put into maintaining a certain balance between male/female animals to ensure future stock

Technically it "would" make it slower, until you found both animals. Sure, genders is on the table for realism, but fixing the mess of a breeding system should be priority. Then work on the specifics, if there's time before release.

The first point was just a heads up, for you to improve your general writing skills to only make points which are interesting and of any actual value. I had breakfast this morning. < This might be a true sentence but clearly not relevant or interesting. See what I'm getting at?

Second, you're going for realism (it needs to take longer to reproduce / instead of 20 cows following you, you should only have 10 cows following you), yet you ignore the biggest problem of all; reproduction is impossible without genders. As long as you're working with these barn animals.

Minecraft has never had male/female animals, I don't think it should. Hell, I'm even fine with incest in animals, as it would be too idiotic to waste time coding something completely new. I want some aspects of realism, but not a completely realistic breeding system. I'm not going for the full package, just half/half to balance out the completely unrealistic concept we already have.

I don't see how this goes against my first comment on this thread.
Both my points are still standing:
-You bragging about research is annoying and boring.
    -You didn't mention genders.

    - I'm sorry you find factual evidence annoying.
    - Why would I? I don't care if there's male or female animals, whilst it's realistic it's not a priority.

You're either not understanding the difference between breeding and spawning, or you're trolling. What's your point?

Passive Mob Spawning Algorithm is completely different from Breeding. Here, read the thread containing the research I've done:

Please stop bragging over the amount of research you've done, it's extremely annoying and boring to read through. If you'd really done that much research you would have at least written something about genders. A cow and a bull producing a baby cow in 1 second is more believable to me than 2 lesbian cows producing a baby cow in one hour.

The hell are you talking about? "Research"? I played the game, saw what breeding was like, and made a suggestion. I haven't done research.. /facepalm

This. I totally get the impression that they're a little overburdened. If they pushed full release back a month, I'd be way less worried. Of course, "doing too much" does not, in my mind, mean "lazy" or "uncaring." In fact, rather the opposite.

I'd be fine if Minecraft was never officially released. I'd personally love a game that's always changing and being developed.

Mojang is trying to get minecraft more realistic (which is why i dont like the snow golems, sorry off topic), and before now animals just randomly spawning which was unrealistic, you acttually have to FARM them now, which is way more realistic. In your vid, you say that all you have to do is go to a village, get some wheat, plant some wheat, and give it to animals, then they will duplicate, and all I wanna know is, what is unrealistic about that? So what, they are fully grown, but honestly, did you ever hear ANYTHING from Notch and/or Mojang about baby animals?
And now your going to try to go off topic and say my grammar sucks, like you do.

Like I said before in many threads. We're continuing to see independent modders out perform minecraft actual content. Pick a minecraft patch; guaranteed a better mod.

I'm starting to doubt mojang takes pride in minecraft and instead, works on something like scrolls that has potential to make more money. They've already made their money on this game they are just trying to wrap it up(sloppily).

I think they take pride, I just think there's too much on their plate and not enough people. They've given themselves one month to give content, and then one month to fix it all. On top of that, Notch is going to court, and they're working on another game already. It's just too much.

That's because you started this thread, at least partially, with a complaint about the lack of decent discussions on the forum using the very triggers to start a flame war. It's an amazing case of self sabotage, not the "best"* that I've seen, but still impressive. If you want calm, constructive debates on any issue, the first step is always to not accuse potential opponents of being idiot, or even to imply that unintentionally. Now, this thread is probably unsalvageable at this point, but I think you could create a better one the next time around.

The problem is, I don't want a calm debate that gets 10-15 posts and eventually dies. Have you seen those? Anything that "agrees" with the system usually gets buried under the threads that get popular because there's something to disagree about. More or less my topic was simply a ploy to get people into the thread, and even you couldn't disagree. I'd much prefer a heated debate about a topic that actually solves problems instead of a calm debate that is a bunch of teenagers agreeing with each other and smoking a toke. Seems like I got a bit of both, but I wouldn't change a thing in a heartbeat.

I also agree with your other statements, my time limit was just off the top of my head and is most likely too long.

-The fact that breeding is a "work-around" is also a bad argument. As stated before animals are a bit harder to find now (As ffs I run into about 50 newly spawned sheep.) What NEEDS to be fixed is WHAT animals spawn. As it stands, it seems sheep get a 60% chance, chickens get a 20%, and the rest get some random number with the remaining 20%. So in order to "fix" this work-around, he'd need to force animals to despawn... Thus removing persistence. Get it? (That or... You know, Notch... Not making Sheep the dominant spawn.)

Actually, and I can say this with 100% confidence due to the research I did on the spawning algorithm, animal spawning is a completely random weighted choice. Besides wolves and squid, all animals have an equal chance to spawn in any biome. (Except ocean (squids) and deserts (none)).

You are finally seeing what I've been saying for a year now: Notch is God-Damned lazy and will get by with doing the least amount of work as possible.

When Jens makes something better than he could, it gets axed so that Notch doesn't look completely incompetent.

LOL, this thread should be called "Phar is stupid and mean, let's bash him".

Seriously, who cares if Phar "isn't nice"? You're not supposed to judge people for personality traits on the INTERNET. The only thing that should matter, is if Phar's opinion on the new breeding mechanic is correct or incorrect. And it is, for the most part, correct. It's as if nobody is objective on these forums, it's ALMOST as if you're all... human beings.

Sadly, this community likes flaming more than debate. Oh well, I've probably reported at least a few dozen posts on this thread, seen a lot of them disappear. Not to mention that if my points weren't valid, I wouldn't have 500+ +1's. Some people just can't take it when you call them out.
