Can you make the /color save? Maybe in the player's .dat file or something...
It's annoying to have to change the color each time you login :tongue.gif:

And also Notch has already thrown out that idea

Why? That idea is ****ing ace.
The lock should also make the chest unbreakable to anyone except the owner.

Notice the banner at the bottom of the post. It will state the server status.

I'm trying to get /sethome and such working for the server. If I can't get it I'll bring the server back in a couple of hours.

I just wish there was an easy method to tell exactly who (username+IP) spawns, destroys, and takes stuff from the chest. Then we could just ban the ****er and rebuild it.
Yeah, it's probable. It's also probable to crash your server in 2 minutes. Do you understand how much logging will have to take place, recording every block a person built/destroyed? If that was logged and the griefer knew about it, he could just constantly build/destroy blocks until the server crashes. Sure, he might get banned, but at least he pissed you, the server admin, off.

I have constant server backups. Also have crash protection so it'd just restart.
Wouldn't **** me off and he would be gone. Ah, that would be awesome :smile.gif:

He said he was going to fix furnaces today, not release the update today.
As in, figure out how and get it working... He probably already got it done, wait for tomorrow noon for the "Secret Friday Update" and he should be releasing it. :smile.gif:

meh.exe runs, but when it opens up MEH.Host.exe it crashes right after it updates.
AFTER it updates, so the minecraft_server.jar gets downloaded. I tried disabling updates but it just happened faster.

    I'm on Windows 7 x64.

Hey0 already has one, and most people use mine and his together. I generally don't add features that other compatible mods already have. Most of the time, people use hey0 for public servers with administration needs, and llamacraft for servers where everyone has equal rights (people call them Vanilla servers now).

Yeah, but Hey0's mod has a lot of stuff I didn't need.

This mod seems to be perfect, and I didn't really want to add anything that wasn't necessary.
Trying to stay as close to Vanilla as possible, only other feature I want it /sethome because it has been heavily requested.

I'm going to try to learn how to code in Java myself though, I've done a bit in C# so I'll see what I can do :happy.gif:

EDIT: Can't figure it out, I give up.
Well, if you don't want to do that I have another suggestion: Since the Flint and Steel is only used to fix furnaces and delete bedrock and TNT you should make it last forever.
EDIT2:I think you should add the lighter command back too, it didnt hurt anything... And notch didnt completely fix the furnaces, the lighter seems to still help there.
If you don't want to readd it you should at least remove it from the /help menu :happy.gif:

posted a message on No-IP (and it's exciting implications!)
No-IP is great if your IP Address changes every 5 minutes, but my IP only changes when I leave my router off for hours on end.

I rarely shut my router off (unless I NEED to) so I prefer Dyn DNS.

posted a message on Server Lags After Too Much Use ?
Hey guys, I have an issue.
Basically whenever I leave the server on for more than about 3 hours at a time it starts to get really laggy.
The memory use stays at the regular ~150mb (94% free) and the threads stay at the regular 3 + 3.

The console spams "[WARNING] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?" and it takes forever to pick up items and enter messages. I'm running the server on GUI mode (2GB) with a Crash Protection Batch and Auto Backup batch. This also happens without the batch files and on the default 1GB settings though.

The lag does indeed go away when I restart the server but was just curious if there is any reasoning for this.
Does anyone know how to fix it and/or a tool to automatically save and stop the server every x amount of hours?

I looked around and found a lot of auto restarters, but none of them forced the server to save and I do not want my users to lose their work.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can give to me. :smile.gif:

EDIT: Alright, I tried changing it to 4GB, now Threads are 1 + 1... Are threads good or bad?
Also, how do I confirm it is actually taking 4GB?

Just visited here for the first time, was immediately greeted with anti-sematism, and a sign saying "welcome to gay land". After looking around, all that could be found was burning trees and half demolished buildings

    Wouldn't recommend

Odd, works fine here... Try restarting your computer?
And make sure you are using the client, I can't connect to my server via Browser... idk why. :ohmy.gif:
