So, I added the line "server-name=ninfaf333" to my server.properties, and then googled that and my ip, and found nothing. Also, it's definately not a DoS, as my friend can connect no problem.
No, I meant the name you CALLED your server. All that line does is change the world name, what did you call the server when you told people to join? Google that :tongue.gif:
And that last part means nothing, just because it isn't a successful DoS doesn't mean it's not a DoS. :tongue.gif:
I haven't added my server to any server lists. If someone has put me on one, how would I go about removing myself from it? it's making the log completely useless.
You would need to find the site that it's on first... try googling your IP or your server's "name".
Or you could be a victim of an attempted DOS attack, doubt it though...
Uh, 2GB DDR3 RAM (for the server) is a must I would say...
Not 100% about the processor, but I do recall hearing that the server only uses 1 core. So it would be better to have a really fast single/dual-core than an okay quad-core.
Those 2 are really the only important parts of the server I would say, that and I guess a decent hard-drive or SSD. But even that isn't super important.
Press Windows Key+R
Type in "dxdiag" (Without quotes)
press "Save all Information"
Copy and paste everything from the start of the saved file up to (but not including) Sound devices
Use code tags when posting (Click the button above the post area that says "Code")
I found the lastlogin file, but being a bit of a technotard, I don't know how to translate it to MacOSAIDS.
Though it is full of stuff that makes no sense to me, that should probably be translated.
Oh no... I meant the directory not the file.
The text inside the file is encrypted, just copy the entire file over.
OH I see, you are trying to recover your password FROM the file.
If it's a server available to the public, you also have to take your internet connection (and all connections between your server and your clients) in mind.
Yeah, but he says he gets this lag on his own hosted server... but he only mentions Multiplayer.
So I'm quite confused.
Which texture pack are you trying to do this with?
The .jar file isn't the texture pack, when you put a .zip in the texturepack folder it's ONLY for the texture files and not the actual game files.

They do not use the texture packs folder.
Well they CAN use the texture pack folder, the one I have does... but if you choose it without the fix it crashes your game.
The textures don't always need to be implanted directly into the game.

I'm fairly positive you need those drivers.

I don't believe that is possible, you would be better off just having it reset to your email.
