posted a message on Is there a way to temporailly disable a observer block

Yep, it works great actually, and you can put observers next to each other & they won't repeat themselves.

I did find in a tutorial though, for people looking to not spend so much Quartz, Stone & Redstone, that there is an alternative way to disable the observer for people who want to have an updated block (like a piston) go through the observer without being effected.

How I think this is setup to work with the observer is, the observer is programed to start where the slowest repeater is, then go to the next one, next this dropper is supposed to give power to the comparator because comparators work with blocks in a chest (I think) He never really explained how it works but I think it should with some contraptions.

(Note: I'd recommend skipping to 3:15 just to avoid the pointless intro :/)

Thank you, your a life savor :P I think I have an idea on how to automate the block in groups next to each other now. I will have to see how it works out.

posted a message on Is there a way to temporailly disable a observer block

Hi, right now I have tried to setup a Redstone observer block to automate Sugar Cane block whenever its at two height. I can successfully get the item and have my farm store it in a pipe system, but this is where my problem is.

As you can probably tell, I'm in a little bit of a pickle, I want to figure out a way to disable the Observer temporally so it can stop updating & not repeat its self with the same command, and I can't really figure out how to do that since the observer is probably one of the only current blocks (Besides Redstone blocks, torches,) that supplies a Redstone signal as a "first source" ex; like Redstone torches or blocks.

Here is my setup so far in the attachments below.

Is there currently a setup that disables the observer block temporarily, a circuit, or alternative to this? Thanks!

posted a message on Help with disabling & re-enabling a redstone mob farmRedstone

    I figured out the solution.

First off, I never needed two inputs for the redstone torches (the two layers.) I just needed one all along.

I found a source demonstrating that you can use a redstone timer (on any tick.) To turn a redstone torch off, basically with another "command" redstone block that requires manual input (ex: levers, pressure plates, or buttons.) This can be setup in any fashion of course as long as its away from the redstone torch (to prevent the redstone torch from being powered on again from the timer & create a endless loop between the redstone & the command.)

Then, I connected it to where I wanted to & basically got the off / on switch all setup.

I'm still kind of setting up the mob farm the way I want to, so I can't guarantee if it's fully working yet but I think my setup should be fine now.

posted a message on Help with disabling & re-enabling a redstone mob farmRedstone

Hey, so I tried to setup a mob farm in game, basically the primise of it works like this; mobs spawn and they fall down below into a mine cart, they are then carried into a small hole the skeleton can go through but they take damage, eventually once they have suffcated they will die & their drops will be carried into a hopper, to a main chest system.

I also wanted to make it setup so I can enable & disable the mob farm from working. Think of it as a "shut off" switch. But I have been having difficulties,

The setup goes as follows & has three main layers.

    1. Main mob farm & redstone mechanics like rails, and torches.

    2. Below that is the second layer and has two torches, this is to turn the mob farm off, however I can't re-enable it so I decided to make a third layer

    3. Has two more redstone torches to turn layer two off, to turn back on layer one.

What my issue is, is basically, I need a way to turn the third layer off from a control panel about 10 or so blocks above it, so that way the mob farm stops completely incase an emergency goes wrong. I heard using Redstone comparitors or timers could fix this issue, but I haven't found a really good example of one that actually applies to my situation. I should only have to worry about the third layer now since that manages the 2nd layer from being on & off. (Since layer two re-activates layer 1, or disables it.)

Oh also, I don't want to use levers (unless its in the control panel.) I would like to make it automatic as possible.

Edit: This is in Minecraft 1.11.2

I probably should have asked this a different way.

What is a good CPU for using something along the lines like Feed The Beast Infinity (or a lot of mods.)

Hey so recently I kind of got into modding, and I was thinking about buying a new PC for Minecraft forge or various modpack loaders that can handle up to 100 - 500+ mods (around that amount :P.)

My current PC can handle playing about 50 Mods or so, after I hit that amount or over I pretty much get 30 FPS or lower.

Also, as easy as it may sound. I cannot upgrade my PC CPU or GPU because my parents don't want me making huge costly mistakes, or encountering problems. I would but I can't.

My budget is around $200 - $300 (currently I have about $100 saved up in funds for now.)

posted a message on Forge (old minecraft launcher.) unable to launch FML/FML Tweaker.

So previously I was having an issue with my Minecraft Launcher & Java here I had to uninstall java and reinstall it (I installed the latest version, 8) and delete everything in my .minecraft folder except my save/saves file. Launched Minecraft and the issue was fixed.

Sadly the same isn't for Forge 1.8.9 and it is having issues trying to read something (my guess)

I tried to use a older version of Java, I ended up choosing Java 7 since that worked out best with me before when I had a similar issue like this. I uninstalled Java & reinstalled Java 7, tested out if it would launch and it did not work. However Vanilla Minecraft works fine.

Is there a way to fix this issue?

Edit: Issue is fixed. Changed the forge version and it reinstalled the recommended version. Works perfectly now,

For Java 7 at least haven't tested Java 8.

Try in vanilla, thats a error with a vadly stalled forge - what?

I tried it in Vanilla 11.2 and the issue is fixed, I can run Minecraft now.
I would still prefer using 1.8.9 forge since my PC can't exactly handle the FPS to well, it drops to 30 easily and it takes forever to get back up to 64.

Taken by what you said, I'm going to take it I may have to reinstall forge to?

Also not 1.8.2 I just derped when I was talking.

Managed to get that problem fixed, and I can enter the menu but now I am having an issue when I boot up the launcher with forge 1.8.2 (with optifine & betterfps) I got a fatal error. and cannot enter Minecraft (I get error log), but on vanilla minecraft (11.2) I can enter but the second I do I end up with this weird GUI crash report (has crafting table icon not grass block when I start & receive the crash log.)

Should I uninstall Minecraft? I had an issue with forge awhile back related to Java during 1.8 releases basically I forge couldn't run on Java's new version (I think it was Version 7, its been awhile.) Could that be the issue?

Also. I didn't mention it before but I am running off of two users, one is a admin and one Is a regular member. It was working completely fine a while back simultaneously between the two users but now both do not work. (And by awhile back I mean before the runtime issue was even occurring.)

I looked on Google and this seems to be a reoccurring, but extremely old issue related to how Minecraft communicates with Java.

Just yesterday I was going to go ahead and play Minecraft, but every time I hit "Play Now" it fails to run Minecraft and gives me a crash log of what happened (I don't have it anymore but it was something basically with runtime.) So I ignored it and went and did something else because I wasn't in the mood to get all technical and deal with more issues if they occur while I fix it.

A day later goes by, and I decide to update Java realizing that, it may have been the issue. Sadly not and it has only gotten worse, see below in the capture.

I think the issue literally lies in Java its self, and I just need to reinstall this "runtime" but before I screw up again I wanted to ask what plans of action I should take. The last thing I want to do is completely screw with Minecraft & Java.
