Ah, yes, sorry about that.... I have multiple mods in the same workspace and sometimes I forget to remove them.
It's cool. People recycle mods to make their own. Everything is open source. That's how we learn to mod like this. That's what's great about Minecraft. They didn't make it incredibly difficult to go into the script and check it out -- in fact Mojang encourages it. As you grow in coding, you'll learn you may still need to rely on other mods to give you an idea of how to make your own and maybe even use them as a part of your own mod. Kinda like Not Enough Items and all of those Rei's Minimap ripoffs. In Zan's Minimap (just a better version of Rei's), when running the mod, there is still a folder named "Rei's Minimap".
You may actually want to check out other mods. They may give you an idea of extra things you can add or spells you didn't think of. Like if you add some of the animals from Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, you may want to check out Mo' Creatures or something to figure out the AIs. For example, coding for a Hippogriff may be confusing, so using a Pegasus's AI and tweaking it (making it eat crows or something) may give you the desired result.
Thanks! I have loved working on this mod as a massive HP fan, and the awesome support has just blown me away.
Bug #1: Yeah, I hate that. I'm trying to fix it, may be fixed in 0.0.5 or may be later, not sure.
Bug #2: I have no idea. Were you using any other mods?
I don't currently need any texture help, but I'll be sure to drop you a line =)
The only mods I was running were Forge and this one. It said that I had 6 installed though. 3 from Forge and 3 others that I assume you use as your cores, including Treecapitator.
First off, this is an awesome mod. There aren't many Harry Potter mods out there. The only notable ones are FlooCraft for Floo Powder and QuidCraft for Quidditch. It's good to see someone focusing on bringing the most important part of the universe to Minecraft -- the wands and magic. Reading through your ambitions for the mod like making mobs from the universe and all the other stuff, I can see this mod being as big as the Lord of the Rings mod, Divine RPG, Shadow World, ect.
A couple of bugs I found.
-Verdimillious and Periculum crash clients running Forge1.7.2-10.12.2.1121 (the recommended version).
-Not sure what caused this but at one point, left clicking stopped working for putting out fires and breaking blocks. It also turned my right click to placing down sand (in survival mode -- and I wasn't holding sand).
I wish you the best of luck in developing this mod! If you need any help graphically, feel free to leave me a message.
Yeah you're cpu is much too slow i'm afraid :/ the best you could do is tweak until you find optimal performance which would be sub-par to what you want. Sorry, but the only way would be to either upgrade you're cpu or just get a new computer. If you upgrade your CPU get something clocked at least at 3GHz and with 4 cores. Also make sure is has at least 4mb of L3 cache. That would help a lot. (Hyperthreading wouldn't hurt either).
-Sigh- I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. I found a program called OBS (https://obsproject.com/). It doesn't take much CPU (I dropped to around 20-30ish while recording with it). This might help people in a situation similar to mine but hopefully better. Unfortunately, for me, it still takes up too much CPU usage with my measly 320mb video card.
Get a PC, and use FRAPS. I'd recommend NewEgg.com if you want cheap PCs and PC components.
Having a slow Mac and a slow PC with the same specs will run exactly the same so Fraps will still take up the same usage as Movavi, Screenflow, Quicktime, and most other screen capture software. Also, Movavi is Fraps for Mac made by the same company. They decided to call it something different.Thank you for the sight, newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/).
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with Nvidia GeForce 320mb video card.
I realize that having only 320mb is really low for trying to record and play a game at the same time. Unfortunately, with the Mac Minis, the video card is integrated into the Logic Board and can't be taken out.
Quote from Atrayin»I recommend getting Fraps. Then when you use it, set the resolution to 1280x720 and cap the FPS to 30 or 29.97. Then in the profile options for minecraft set the resolution to 1280x720. That should work.
I'm trying to record myself playing Minecraft. Normally, I get around 30-60 fps. When I start up Screenflow, Movavi, or any other screen capture device, it drops to about 2-10fps.
Minecraft 1.7.2
Mac OS X 9
8 Gigs of ram
Nvidia GeForce 320m
I've tried using Optifine Standard and Ultra but it doesn't get any better when recording. (No Light version for 1.7.2).
What can I do to make Minecraft to run at higher fps (30+) while recording?
Builder Application - Minecraft Username: Persomatey Age: 19 Timezone: 120 West (Pacific Standard) How long have you played Minecraft?: 5 years Do you have Skype?: Yes
Do you have previous experience with Medieval Building? If so, how much?:
I have built on smaller servers before. I mostly do medieval stuff (castles, wizard towers, ect), but have experience in other settings as well. Such as an airship docking town/island for Archimedes Ships, a few gym layouts for a Pixelmon server, and the interior of a spaceship.
How much time can you dedicate to the server weekly?:
A few hours a week. Less towards the end of summer between work and school -- but time can be managed. We can discuss further on Skype, I suppose.
How do you feel about the server? What interests you?: I've always been into the fantasy genre. I like the Skyrim-esque theme to the beginning of the story. The builds in the pictures look neat and have a nice texture pack. The whole class system is nice and reminiscent of a lot of RPGs.
What can you bring to the server?: I enjoy building and like to think I'm pretty decent at it. Good attitude, friendly, and creative. Always been an artist in many forms -- musician, cosplayer, prop maker, story teller, ect.
IMPORTANT: Post pictures of your previous medieval builds, if you cant, contact me:
I don't have any right now (different computer and on a mini vacation). I was passively looking through this part of the servers forum and decided to leave a comment because the server sounds awesome.

What kind of styles can you build in?:
I've done medieval kind of stuff, which I'm sure you're looking for most -- castles, wizard towers, and other fantasy-type things.
I've also done mazes and challenges for Pokemon (Pixelmon) gyms.
I've built airship docking towns/islands for Archimedes Ships mod.
Have you ever played Runescape?:
Yes, loved it when I was younger. Jumped back on when RS2 came out with some friends. Haven't played RS3 much because my friends liked RS2, but I created a character for it and played around a little.
Have you ever played Runescape 2007?
Yes.

I want to make it so, on a server, everybody has the same hotkeys to do something. For example, I have the Archimedes Ships mod. The normal button to bring up ship menu is "K". I want to change it to "L". I want everybody on my server to access that menu with "L". How do I do this? Is there already a mod that changes the hotkeys for everybody?
I'm trying to find a map I played a couple of years ago. Maybe someone could help me find it.
There were giant floating islands linked together by chains. Between some islands, the chains were broken. There were castles, pyramids, bridges, and other such things.
There was a narrative. A person teleported you to that world. After certain parts, you would listen to youtube videos of that person (who teleported you there) explaining to you what to do next.

Every other mod works with each other. The issue is with Millenaire and Goblins though. I can play the 20+ mods with either Millenaire or Goblins but not both or this happens:
