When the minecraft launcher opens hit the Options button then hit the Force Update button. Let that finish then your worlds will still be there.

He mentioned he has already done that :wink.gif:

The news is taking about 5 seconds to load for me, but it is working, and force download is working too.

What Java version do you have?

Do you have any anti-virus or firewall software installed?

It depends on the situation. Max FPS does just that, power saver uses less CPU but also gives less FPS, balanced... balances :tongue.gif:

The AppData folder may be hidden in your folder settings, you need to configure it to show hidden folders. :smile.gif:

You will lose the mods you have installed, but start Minecraft and before clicking Login, click Options, then click force update.

Just to be sure that it isn't a mod :wink.gif:

If you are unable to visit the site or access multiplayer, but you can ping, that suggests there is some software on your computer that is preventing UDP and TCP packets from going through, but still lets ICMP packets through.

Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus software. Do you have any other software to compliment it such as Anti-Spyware or Anti-Adware? If so, disable those too.

Navigate to your "C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc" folder and open the hosts file. Once it is open, delete everything that is in it, then save it. If you have problems saving it, run notepad as an administrator and then open the hosts file through notepad.

One of those much fix it :tongue.gif: Let us know how you get on :smile.gif:

When you installed OptiFine, what did you set the save interval to?

Also, is this in Single Player or Multiplayer?

Which anti-virus software do you use? Have you tried disabling it to see if that fixes it? If you have any anti-spyware or anti-adware software that compliments it then disable that too :smile.gif:
