My mistake, I got confused with the rule. Hao your tempban had been changed to 1 day. But if you continue to AFK you'll be tempbanned again for longer.

This is the reason why I suggested chat mods in the first place (around 1.5 years ago): To cover other time zones.

Well, we have 2 chat mods now, but they're both Americans and thus in a relatively well covered timezone (we have plenty of American Alphas & Wardens, at least one is usually on).

We really need a European Chat Mod to stop spammers, this is a severe problem.

I do realize that this sounds a bit like "Omg, just promote me already", but I've been saying this a long time ago and there was no reason why I should have changed my view on this just because I am being considered.

Dear Convicted,

It’s time to say something…



As many people already know, I dropped myself from Convicted "Alpha Chat" because the chat was so pointless. I believed that it was the chat where we talk about Convicted as part of Admin and Moderation team. Yet it was far from that and people just shared their personal life issues, plans, other game scores, sport etc etc. When someone added something about Convicted, it was mostly ignored or it went so far from other chat-spam that some people really didn’t have time to read and comment. Today in other hand, I heard it's now Staff Chat after few days of my leave. It's somehow sad that most of the movements in convicted happens after someone does something harsh. But well, maybe this was a wakeup call to those who were supposed to be Staff in this server and not off-topic commentators.

As that been said, I'm really tired to move and build convicted on. Past 3 months has been everything else than smooth and fun. I have tried to ask and invent so many things to Convicted but yet they all have been shot down or being status "I'm talking with Viper" and that's about last thing I have ever heard so far. Server is unplayable most of the GMT times and we're still missing active Warden to at least try to make GMT times more interesting. I have tried to have one more ChatMod or AlphaGuard to cover early GMT and have a “Partner” for me but it has been shot down as well many times. Failure after failure I’m in state that I really don’t know what to do. Should I give up? Should I retire? Or should I just keep trying and trying to make my wishes and hope this server listens… I don’t know.

There are so many things I would like to Change or Fix in Convicted. I just miss tools, power and dedicated Staff for it. I'm sorry. The Convicted staff right now is probably the worst it has been for years. Anyway, I like to give out my list if someone ever wants to continue pushing these things out.

Heres few in “My FIX THESE” list:


Donor Mine
As many you know, Donor Mine is new Clay Mine if you just have Chaos and pics. The number of resources you get in this huge mine is amazing. I mean really, it's freaking awesome and gives us money so fast that it's unbelievable. But that is not the point of that mine. To be honest same time I like it, same time I hate it. It's just too awesome, easy and breaks economy like frozen hell. It needs to be split half and some resources there should be cut out. Just make it worth it but don’t over-do it. Make new mine and give Donor-players some options to mine what they like.

Parkour
Dear ****ing god. I know I probably will be hated after this comment: But our parkours are way too easy and they give out way too much XP and other OP Prizes. These parkour brings server way too much OP items and stuff. Look the other servers around us... We're suppose to be freaking prison server not parkour server. I like mini quest and decent reward idea but we have too much parkour with way too much rewards from it. Cut it. Kill TQ or make it harder. Kill Siberia or make it harder. Do not give out so much XP of these parkour or at least from one run.... Just do something... enough is enough.

Omega
Oh boy… where do I even start? It used to be major city in Free. Right now it’s major joke in Free. 75% of the things in Omega are:
- Old or really old
- Broken
- Pointless
- Should have been updated or re-created long time ago.

Omega should be area to Frees hang out and make business. Right now it’s far from it. All our low-number of Frees do is Donor or run in C-Foyer. Make the Omega major again and City what is worth for Frees! Bring it from 2012 to 2015.

Free world
I know, you know, everyone knows. It’s a mythical place with tons of dead houses, mines, mob-farms, auto farms and unfinished cities and other projects. Free world is dead and unused right now. Players who were active users in Free-world are mostly gone. New players does not know what to do or they need to walk so far from prison to start build their own projects. Would it be time to restart the world and give our current players a shot and make Free-world what they think it should be?


Wardens
One of the major problems in our server are Wardens. We lack number of active Wardens and it sucks. When we want to change our titles, who you gonna call? SDAngel. When we want to buy inactive plot, who you gonna call? SDAngel. When we want to fix broken things in prison, who you gonna call? SDAngel. When we wanna ask some questons to our Admins, who you gonna call? SDAngel. Any kind of service you need from warden, who you gonna call? SDAngel. Want some special events, who you gonna call? SDAngel.

Well, I think my point is clear. The thing is, our Wardens are equal but same time their duties are like wild wild west. Let me give few examples. Green star, you can earn this from Dusty cactus or dustys events. Ok. So who hosts these events? Dusty himself. So where is Dusy? Well, hes inactive and he is busy. Ok, acceptable but should someone still backup this event…? Yes…? No…? Well, I believe SDAngel is once again our answer.

Second thing, Event Wars. They told that it will be hosted by frootboy every month first Sunday. At the moment that has happened only once. Second time froot didn’t have time and he postponed it. About this month Event War? Yeah… no one really know and it’s soon Friday.

And there is so many example where Wardens should share their duties but same time make sure that it’s not only for one Warden who does all things in the server. It’s sad that we keep inactive Wardens in our list and same time block all new Warden Candidates. At long shot we just run out of active staff and our quality will be even lower that it is now.



Our buycraft
As much we want to support for the server, the guys like me who has 2 accounts Donored, all the homes, name colours, titles and so on: Theres nothing to buy and support… Make something available from shop like once a month or something to keep income better and protect server’s future.

But this far, these are the things we should look for first.

Convicted, We have come so far together.. I have give everything I have to this server... but it has not give me anything back for long time. I like to thank our current players and friends who still are with us. Without you, convicted would have died months ago. Future is not so bright yet, but almost everyone hopes that things turns out better. It's in our Owners, Admins and fellow staff members hand.

Guards and Rioters,

Keep in mind that influence what came after blacklisting opples are still under our radar. That means changes we're doing active now are most meant to be tested "in field" and feedback we get is most important. Finding enough balance to each Guard rank is hard because there is so much different and related things in Convicted Pvp. For example: Buffs, Armor, Swords, Sharpness, Protection, Resistance, Fire resistance, Chaos, Doublechaos, Knockbacks, Potions, Golden Apples and so on. Modifying guard buff or chaos is just one step and part of testing, not all of the changes are meant to be permanent. The most important part is: Guards need to be effective to protect "regular prisoners" or mostly C-Prisoners, but Guards can't be walking warmachines who cannot die. And this same should be in Free players. a Strong Free should be strong but not immortal. There needs to be some limits to everyone.



I'm seeing positive and negative sides of our last changes but our work continues.

A prestige system has been much talked about in the past 2 years, but nothing has ever come of it. Some of the reasons for that are that no one had time to build another prison, and the admins didn't want to use the same currency system, based on the inflated economy and over-powered ways to make money.

While I do agree that something needs to happen so that frees can have something to do to not lose interest in the server, it would have to be something rather large. Non repetitive things would be great, but who would build it? We don't have a build team like we used to (Noakii, Dusty, Piano, etc), so it would take even more time to build something that would sustain the appetite for content.

School is starting up soon again, so most of the people that play wont be AS active, meaning less people, less trusted people, less people that we could potentially hire to build a giant project, like another prison.

People might come with the argument, "Well Josh, the staff members have that free build area, why don't the alphas and chatmods just build us a new prison?" If anyone has ever been to the staff-build area, you would know that hardly anyone uses it, and when they do, it's for foyers. It would also be extremely hard/time consuming to create a prison-prestige type thing without the proper use of console/world edit. So unless viper wants to give console to someone who is active, it's probably not going to happen, considering Hexa hardly plays anymore, and when he does, he doesn't do building things.

I agree that it would be nice for frees to have something more to do, but I'm just not sure of what. It can't really be something to do with the same money we use now, because of the bad economy, and it SHOULDN'T be something that you have to donate for (chaos). I'm not sure how easy it would be to set up a different currency, considering I don't code, and haven't run a console in over 4 years, but if that was what happened, we would have to be extremely careful with how easy/difficult it is to make the new money. We don't want another thing like the clay mine to happen, where people are making 3,000,000 a day by being afk. But on the counter part of the spectrum, you don't want it to be a thousand year grind on getting the money to rank up once or twice, to gain no effect on the actual gameplay.

Everyone has a different opinion on what can happen to fix the nothing-ness to do on Convicted, but what it really comes down to is these things:
1. What we have time to do
2. What we agree on
3. What we have the ability to do
4. What would be considered "Fun"

If we can find something in that spectrum, that would be great. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to message me on the mcforums about it.
Rules for messaging me:
1. No you can't have my skype.
2. Full thoughts only.
3. I won't meet you ingame to discuss it (example: "Hey, I have this idea, get on convicted so I can tell you!")
4. Please refrain from making it 12,000 paragraphs long, keep it limited to under 8 paragraphs or so

I believe that we, as a community, can make something that would be great. But I'm not going to do this alone.

If you really care about playing on this server again, maybe you should consider writing your own appeal rather than copy & pasting someone elses. PS if you were banned in October, you would have been banned for roughly two months now, not four.

7) Why are you the best choice for guard? I first joined the server and was like ''Wow Lot of hard work Has been put into this'' Then I see that People were being bad and Some Violating the rules and Wanted to stop it. So I played a bit and Got the hang of the server and I think I am ready to stop People who Break the law. ALSO Since I have been playing this server, I have deleted all other servers that I used to play. WHY? Because this server is great, Administrators are great, and a lot of effort has been put into this server I am sure. I also know some people on the server such as Dusty, (Aplha-Guard)

8) What is your current rank? Do you understand that we will require PROOF when/if you retire from guard? Currently I am a C-Prisoner but I am fully aware of all of the rules and Know my way around. And I am Fully Aware that you need Proof for when I retire. Which I never will Because this server is amazing!
