Just get a small light car with good tires, it should save fuel and do well on mountains and snow, only problem is space if you need it
I dont need space, but Ive had it with two wheel drive. Ive spent too many hours in ditches and too many nights in parking lots. Around here it is basically foothills and mountains, with heavy snowfall. when I was going to school and working at camp it was no big deal to take a snow day but that is not possible in my new job
There are some car-type-vehicles out there that have four wheel drive, or 'all wheel drive' or some equivalent, but thats not my expertise. I have grown up around nothing but american muscle and foreign disposables. when it comes to mid-range stuff I dont know what is good and what is crap. And ive learned car dealers will tell you that anything is good in the snow just to get you into a lease.
Living in the mountains sucks almost as much as cars do.

Gilera Runner 50, doesn't do well in snow, though :S
Recently I cracked the piston, didn't even notice until the remains struck the spark plug rendering it inoperative and stalling the engine. Examination showed that the piston broke some quite some time earlier. Luckily the cylinder didn't suffer any serious damage.
As for the gas prices, you have it cheap. It's $2 for a liter over here.
What a crazy deal. I'm surprised you could drive it around like that for so long. I guess its cool you got away with no serious damage. I once had a piston snap so violently it ruined the whole engine. cars suck. I gotta get me a helicopter or a teleporter or something
May 23, 2012What do you guys and gals drive? I need some advice, assuming of course you do drive, or know alot about cars (I sure dont). Anyway, I just got a new job in a fairly prestigious kitchen, but my saab 900 is getting to be about fifteen years old, and Its time for something new.Posted in: General Off Topic
I am torn. I live waaay up north in the great state of maine, and we get some 'wicked' snow up here. That means my first thought is a four wheel drive truck. The problem is, with gas prices lately, even a straight six would punch me in the pocketbook, forget about an eight cylinder. So I was thinking something like a subaru or maybe a small suv?
Do any of you noble minecrafteers out there drive? what do you drive? Are you happy with it? What would you say is the best compromise between power and gas mileage?
And tell me your fun, or tragic car stories! I once blew up an '87 monte carlo because it had a faulty carburetor. It was a bummer for sure.
May 5, 2012Well, I havn't lost any cats so I can't begin to explain that, but I have noticed that it takes MUCH more lighting than it used to to keep mobs away. Even spawners seem to ignore a well placed torch from time to time. May I suggest you harvest lots of glowstone and incorporate it into your architecture? I also always use double thick ceilings between floors for easy recessed lighting.Posted in: Survival Mode
May 5, 2012More arrows. I carry around more than you've got everywhere I go. As stated above, many many blocks would help too. I'd also think about some potions in case things get hairy. Your armor and weapons seem adequate however, and arrows and blocks are easy to get so you are very close to being ready.Posted in: Discussion
Apr 19, 2012I used to do this with tony hawk park editor! We also made a half-life map of our school (a big no no these days). I tried to do it recently in minecraft, but I couldn't find the right terrain to do it with...Posted in: Survival Mode
Apr 13, 2012here is a standalone program that you can use without having to download all that winamp crap (for those of us who prefer VLC). It cannot be used as a wallpaper, and it is quite simple, but that keeps the filesize and cpu usage down. It pulls from your mic so its fun to play guitar with or something like that.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology

If they thought Minecraft was terrible, they wouldn't be playing it. That's what they did with WoW.
WoW is not their bread and butter. If they were to suddenly pull minecraft and start playing cod they would lose some of that youtube $$. They would still have a loyal fanbase, but minecraft made them rich. They will keep playing for business reasons, no matter what they personally feel about the game. I think they still enjoy it but seem to be kind of dull lately. The minecon behavior / tinman / peva controversy doesn't help their image either... But you have got to admit that they are part of the reason minecraft has gotten huge. I do tend to skip more and more of their videos lately though.
