This is where the "More" option in the download dropdown takes you. You can download (potentially unstable) dev builds here as well. http://ci.forkk.net/Quote from Katrinya
I apologize, I must be blind, but I can't figure out what I'm supposed to click on in order to download build from that page. :S

As I stated on the previous page, the mod pack creator did NOT get permission from the mod authors to distribute their mods, so it's extremely bad manner and a **** move.Quote from R3TRI8UTI0N
I don't see how the mod pack is illegal, as it requires you to log in with a premium minecraft account to be able to play. So..?

The people who made Tekkit/technic never got permission from the mod authors to use the mods in a compilation pack and distribute them. So it's very very bad manner.Quote from Chopter
I Looked at the front page, and i admit i have been using this for awhile, but I don't believe tekkit/technic is illegal, as you imply. ...
Otherwise this is wonderful for people like me who love to try minecraft with all the different flavor of mods.

Whenever I try to work Unshaped High Carbon Steel, I get it to go but instead of giving me unshaped weak steel it gives me a flint tool???? does anyone know the problem??
Go to /.minecraft/config/TFC.cfg and delete that. Probably a good idea to delete the TFCOptions.cfg too. That'll fix your problem. Delete these after every update.

In pre2 I cant work Unshaped pig iron on the anvil. do I need a higer teir hammer? I have a stone one
Stone is FAR too low to be working with iron. You're required to have at least a Bronze anvil to make iron ingots. (Stone -> Copper -> Bronze)

Every single Unshaped pig iron that heats to Brilliant white won`t lose its heat, so they basically become useless (Is this a bug?)
It's a beta2 bug, metal only cools down when on an anvil or forge.

Is there a changelog anywhere? Or am I just stupid?
Bioxx doesn't document the updates very well, so the change log won't tell you much, but it's in a drop down on the website, under the downloads.

If you prune chunks or start a new world, Beta2 will be very nice for you. In Beta1 there was ore generation issues preventing it from spawning above 50 and below 30 (give or take a few, and that was rare), Beta2 has fixed that, and you should have a MUCH easier time finding the important early ores.Quote from Creeper_Genocide
Day 94: Still no cassiterite, bismuthinite, or sphalerite. Having no luck smelting native copper. Wood stocks are great. Have enough stone to create a city the size of a small country. Running low on food. Send help ASAP!
Starting Beta 2, hopefully luck will come and it wont take me that many days to not find any metal I could use and start metallurgy. I really like this mod, but not finding any ore's needed to progress is starting to irritate me.

Anyone have any tips for making black steel? tried an unshaped weak steel ingot at brilliant white-yellow heat on a steel anvil with a steel hammer. According to the wiki, need to shape it then weld with a pig iron ingot but can't get the weak steel to the ingot state. For some reason, it isn't allowing me to work it at all. This a bug or am I missing something?
It's bugged. It's not possible to make Weak Steel Ingots. All the other stages work though, so you can NEI yourself the Weak Steel Ingots and move on from there.

WTF what happened to the suggestions page on the wiki i wanted to make a suggestion and PUF!! its gone?
does anyone knows another place to put suggestion so they can be seen by bioxx (i think here in the comments will be very hard place to track down the older suggestion)
The wiki is a horrible place for suggestions. It's now on the forums. http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/index.php?/forum/6-suggestions/

Does anybody know if there's a way to place log blocks? I really like using them for architectural detail, but I can't seem to with this mod...
No, you can't obtain log blocks.

This was the first thing I tried, but the sand didn't even seem to get to a 'warm' stage. Is there no heat notice on sand, or does it just take a very long time to melt? I also tried the same thing in a firepit with similar results, no signs of warming up.
It's all very well saying where they spawn (I did read the wiki), but I would assume with a mod like this that granite spawns in specific biomes, and it would be useful to have an idea of where to start looking. The prospector's pick also seems a bit hit and miss, sometimes missing ores that are only a few blocks away. So far I've only found minerals with them, and no ores.
Well, that's the thing... on my version (maybe it's old?) Marble is distinctly white, and chalk is distinctly white. In the inventory, the (non cobble) marble block looks similar to an ore texture but replace the rock with transparency while chalk retains it's whiteness. Placing the blocks side by side shows there is absolutely no difference between the two.
That you've mentioned it should have a slight pink tinge suggests that I've probably got an outdated texture pack. I'll download the version from the OP and see if that fixes it.
Edit: Turns out I had not just an outdated texture pack, but an outdated mod. Downloaded the "hotfix" version and I can smelt glass just fine as well as spot the difference between marble and chalk. All's well that ends well
As a note, the rocks are randomly placed in certain biomes relative to your seed. So in your seed, if you found basalt in taiga8, then every taiga8 biome will have basalt, BUT only for your exact seed, and it's randomized every time. So learn up on where things are in your seed and you'll have an easier time finding things.

Alright I'm trying to get this welding down and I've got two copper bars that I've just shaped (they are orange) and I go to place flux into the position on the anvil and it won't let me place it.
You have to turn the cobble into flux via putting a metal hammer and the flux-cobble in a crafting grid, then the actual flux item can be placed in the anvil.

Yep. Most of the issues people mention, I try to recreate myself.
It has to have something above it in order to work and it has to be connected to a vertical support.
Huh.. So I found out you can legitimately get glass in this mod. While you can't make a furnace out of the cobble you find in dungeons, if you're lucky enough to find a village that has a blacksmith, you can take the furnaces and use them as normal.
You can just melt sand in a forge man.
