posted a message on [30+ Supporters] Better Squids (No, no calamari)

I like this suggestion overall. Nothing flashy, but will improve the squid. Only thing I would change is the baby squid - instead of making them growing, just leave them small. Maybe even make squid spawn at different sizes depending on the amount of water they spawn in. I know I hate seeing 2 meter long squid spawning all over the place with their stupid looking arms sticking out of the water.

Basically, I hate squid because they look and act stupid so anything that helps is an ok suggestion in my opinion.

posted a message on Fruit Trees & Thirst Bar [Bug Images Fixed 06/02] [Hydratation Revised] [New Images] [New Table Explanatory]

I appreciate the effort that went into this suggestion, but the only part of it I support is the apple tree. I always thought it was weird that apples drop from oak trees and there's no way to grow an apple tree.

But the rest of the suggestion with the extra food and drinks as well as dehydration does not appeal to me. It doesn't appear to be a meaningful challenge, but rather just a nuisance to deal with. What I mean is that under most circumstance thirst will never be a problem - just remember to keep a glass in your inventory or eats some carrots or whatever else you where already eating. It doesn't improve or, really, even alter the existing game at all.

posted a message on Shear chickens and get feathers.

I understand the reason behind this suggestion, but I think the better solution isn't to add a new mechanic, but rather to increase the drop rate of feathers. Make it so a chicken drops 1-3 feathers instead of 0-2 (current drop rate). I think just adding one extra feather would make a huge difference.

Side note - I also think that cows should drop more leather.

posted a message on Minecraft Should Have A New Gamemode
    Quote from DrWeegee123»

Want to know how to do this?

    /Time set night

/gamerule DoDaylightCycle false (Caps may be innacurate)

    Set to hard difficulty.

    There's your gamemode.

No support, there's no need for another gamemode for something that can be accomplished.

"Oh, but what if I want to do this in hardcore mode, and can't cheat"

    LAN world > Cheats: on.

You are also vague on the new items/mobs. You give literally no description of them.

Don't suggest something if you don't know what it is. That's how ideas get locked.

This is the correct response. Nothing else to add.

posted a message on Oasis, palm trees and coconuts.

Overall, I like the suggestion, though I agree with TheWeigs that coconuts would make more sense as farmable item that grows off the tree much like cocoa beans grow on jungle trees.

Also, I would consider making the oasis a technical biome (like a river) so it can spawn different color grass/leaves from the rest of the desert.

Finally, Genlems5ever suggested coconut milk, which is a decent idea, but I think the implementation is over-complicated. Instead, I would recommend that you can make a normal bucket of milk by simply combining a coconut with a bucket. No need to add extra steps or new materials if there's already an easy solution, imo.

posted a message on Luring Villagers.
    Quote from Toms007»

Well, they do, and as most of Minecraft players are very young, the game gets easier and easier. But I think that we should keep every challenge/nuisance that is still in the game just for our amusement. Otherwise, why don't we go and play creative?

I really don't see what this has to do with difficulty though. It's not a balancing issue like PvP or fighting the Ender Dragon.

All I'd like is a built-in way to start-up a new village that doesn't require cheating or building a ton of trains tracks that I then have to remove later. Building train tracks isn't hard nor is it much of a challenge to find the iron (either naturally or with a golem grinder), but it is a nuisance if you're goal is just to move a villager.

I want legitimate challenges (internal or external) not artificial ones created by an inability to interact with the world in an appropriate manner. Since this is a matter of option and I would never say my opinion is more important than any other players, I think it would be a reasonable option to add to the game for people that wish to take advantage of it.

My personal example? I don't like alchemy - I don't like how it's implemented and I never really wanted added to the game, but it's fine. I just ignore potions and carry on my life without using them (most of the time).

It is that the exact way it is done is just a bit strange, which is why giving them an emerald for that would probabily work better.

Agreed. I think the mechanic of luring a villager is awkward.

I think it would be far better to buy a settler flag from a villager that you have good relations with and then place the flag whatever you want. In a few days (randomized in game time), the flag would vanish and a few villagers would appear at its location. Obviously, at that point, the village would have to follow the same rules as normal village.

posted a message on Note block gui
This seems like a decent idea to me. I've made a few minor music projects in MC, but never anything fancy because, frankly, it's a huge pain in the neck. A GUI wouldn't make it trivial, but it would reduce some of the annoyance of cycling through notes. I'm sure I'm not the only person to feel the raw rage of cycling notes and clicking one too many times then having to do it all again...

posted a message on Underground Biome Variety
I think there's really two different, but related concepts in this suggestion. The first one is easier to implement and that is to add more biome specific markers to the underground. By this I mean features that are tied to a specific biome - such as icicles form on blocks under water in cold biomes instead of water drips that occur now. Roots, additional coal/iron, icicles, etc all fall into this category. This can be done with graphical tricks and minor modifications to the world gen, but nothing major.

The second category are new underground features (which could be technical biomes) that are not necessarily tied to the overworld biome - though they could be modified by the biome. An example of this would be an underground lake as I mentioned in my first post. These type of suggestions are much more complicated to implement though and would probably require considerable changes to the world generation In fact, I would argue world gen needs a complete overhaul anyway such as cubic world gen, but that's a different topic.

I think in order for the underground to be more interesting, we need both categories to be implemented.

posted a message on Gold Coins and Gold Dollars in Minecraft
I don't support gold coins. We have emeralds. My only complaint about emeralds is that they lack fine granularity. I'd probably support a suggestion for emeralds coins (or whatever you want to call it) which break the emerald into 9 parts therefore allowing for easier, smaller transactions.

Furthermore, I also don't support people complaining about necroposting...

To everyone: Please stop complaining about necroposting. It's better than the alternative which is a million redundant threads.
