and btw if i die while using the sacrificial knife/orb from blood magic it doesnt send me to my infused body
The sacrificial knife from Blood Magic does all sorts of things when it comes to death. Items that are supposed to be retained through death, the reincarnation from Thaumic Horizons, death via sacrificial knife breaks a lot of things. The solution is to not kill yourself with a sacrificial knife.
I think the death wont actually show up on statistics. The vat doesn't just act as a spawn point. It alters death so that you can use the body as an extra life on a hardcore world. I would assume that a side effect of the vat preventing vanilla death mechanics is that the statistics wont track it.
Guys, people who play video games tend to get frustrated at their co-op partners even when they are controlling separate characters. Players probably wouldn't use this for more than 10 minutes, and many players probably wouldn't even try it the special beacon because it doesn't seem to give any benefit.
A dev has to consider how much people will actually use a mechanic before figuring out how to make it work. This sounds extremely hard to program for a very short lived novelty.
The question no one has answered is why would any players would use this. Players are unlikely to use the beacon for anything but a few minutes of novelty.
Is there anyway to create a stable rift without a hungry node? Or a way to create a hungry node? I'd really like to try some of the things that require a rift.
A hungry node is not required for making a planar vortex.
Can I make a rainbow, self-shearing sheep, or are those sheep considered different animals and impossible to combine?
I kind of expect they would be, but figured I'd ask.
While this is impossible, I am wondering what you would expect to get from that. If I remember correctly, the rainbow sheep when first spawned cycles through colours. When you shear the rainbow sheep the colour is locked. So infusing a self shearing sheep with rainbow would just make its wool colour into a random different colour.
A Runic Monitor sounds like a godsend if you want to do a lot of infusion successfully. Maybe give them a more steely/iron and purple tinge to reflect the coloration of the Matrix itself. Reconstruction is neat, but feels like it lacks use cases (although, increasing its radius would make it good as a 'paving' tool, and there's surely more uses yet to be discovered). As for the Variable Vortex Attenuator, nothing could possibly go wrong from ripping open nodes. Sounds like a plan.
Isn't ripping nodes open already a thing we do, how is that different from attaching those centivis increasing machines to a node.
Pocket planes will be home to several new, strange creatures - most of which are available as advanced infusions. Behold the sheeder!
This hybrid organism serves as a convenient source of string, dropping large quantities when sheared. Unlike an ordinary spider its mammalian brain is compatible with Instilled Loyalty.
That's why i'm asking, so that I actually know where to look rather than just stumbling around in the dark
If you want a general idea of what its prerequisites are in the thauminomicon I will put them in this spoiler.
First work on the basics in the Thaumic Horizons tab. Duplication of meat and plants. From there you will want to research turning leather flesh and beef into leather, and blood alchemy. Then you can unlock the Curative Vat. Then unlock the containment focus, used to put animals in jars. Then you should be able to research Creature Infusions.
Thats almost the entire point of the research mechanic. Plus, I highly doubt you are going to be able to do it, much less get it right, without the research. I'm pretty sure it prohibits you unless you unlocked the research.
Exactly. If he hasn't researched creature infusion in the Thauminomillamacon, it wont work. Theres no point in asking for information when you cant use the information without finding it in the book.

And having your items dropped in the flux puddle.

The sheeder reminds me of this fantastic use of genetic science. http://www.theguardian.com/science/2012/jan/14/synthetic-biology-spider-goat-genetics

Do you have experience with Thaumcraft? If you do, you should understand what the Thauminomicon is, all the relevant information is in that.
