    I am familiar with java and have previously been through all but one of the suggested tutorials already.


    I am trying to give every existing mob and player certain attributes, then I plan on using these given attributes to give mobs specific abilities.


    Example: Say I randomly give a random creeper in the world the attribute of fire. This certain creeper would then give off redstone particles when attacked or attacking.

    I wanted to create a new concept or system in my Minecraft mod. For example, Thaumcraft has a few concepts it creates, such as one gives every block and monster aspects. Something like this, I have no idea how to go past creating blocks, items, mobs, biomes, etc.


    If any extra detail in what I am trying to do, please feel free to ask.

    So I have been trying to get a biome I created myself to be full of flowers, but it is only spawning the red and yellow ones of course. Would anyone happen to know how to add more flowers to my biome? Also if anyone knows how to replace the oak trees with birch trees, that would be very helpful too. Thanks in advanced!

    Basically, you need to draw some quads from the shooter to the target, and probably have some alpha blending to make them slightly transparent. Google OpenGL and Tessellator for some tutorials on those, and look at the vanilla code for examples.

    I was thinking of trying to find what the beacon is doing in order to render the beam it emits. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything in the block class of the beacon. If anyone knows or has an idea of where else the beacon could be rendering the beam from, that would probably help me greatly with this laser-shooting thing. Thanks!

    I have been watching and reading tutorials on modding and on java for about 2 years now. I have created blocks, items, biomes, a couple custom furnace variants. Now though, I wanted to create a beam of light that a mob I have could shoot. Of course, I have found no tutorials on anything like this nor do I know how to make one of these with my own java knowledge. I was wondering if anyone could help me out by pointing me in the right direction. For example, any java lessons or modding lessons that may help me get started. Thanks in advanced!!! :D

    Ok, so I am using techne to make a custom textured block. I need to use cylinders and spheres so I had to use the "Turbo Model Thingy" option. When I finished, I realized that there was no texture map to it, even when I tried to export one! Could someone plz tell me what I am doing wrong?

    K, I figured out my problem before I read your latest post, lol, but thx anyways. The problem was that I forgot to put the assets in a folder with my mod name in it so I accidentally but it just in the src folder. oops! Well, thx for trying to help anyways! If my textures ever stop working again and my folders are in order, now I know what to do! :)
