Mar 28, 2012I just point them at the wiki. It's even linked on the Minecraft site.Posted in: Survival Mode
Mind you, I read all the beginner tutorials as part of the process of deciding whether to upgrade to the full version from the limited freebie version

EDIT: A person can go for about 3 weeks without food as long as there's water. How crap are my rescuers?
Mar 20, 2012I don't believe I could kill someone, but if anyone deserves killing its the guy handing out cash for murders.Posted in: General Off Topic
Related to this - while I don't agree with the death penalty, I'd rather assassination was used instead of warfare to remove dictators.

I have been thinking about something. Why does AM switch to PM at 12:00? Don't you think it would make much more sense for a new day to start at 1:00? Just think about it and you will get what I mean.
Can you think of any other measurements that start at 1? Length starts at zero. So does weight. And temperature. And speed. And so forth. Why should time be any different?

You could make ammo from paper, gunpowder and iron.
Mar 16, 2012Speakers all the time. But volume depends on what I'm listening too, background noise, and whether I need to hear the phone.Posted in: General Off Topic
Usually I go with 100% at work, but that drops to about 10%^ when we have visitors, or I'm listening to MP3s rather than the radio (they seem much louder.
Also a fully cranked Winamp seems nowhere near as loud as a low setting on VLC player. Its crazy!

(this one is my favorite) A Griefed house ontop of your underground house to deter griefers.
Definitely one of the better ones (as long the raiders aren't xraying). I tend to leave worthless blocks in random patterns in chests to suggest they've been emptied of the good stuff.

What... What? I don't see how anyone can like that show. Jeffrey Donovan is a horrible actor lol.
Its a well written show, with complex, but not needlessly complicated plotting
The main three have a good group chemistry.
The arc mystery is engaging without overshadowing the episodic plots
The spy-stuff narration is entertaining and pitched with enough information to be plausible, but not enough to be copyable.
And I happen to think Donovan is versatile and charismatic

I don't think jungles and strongholds are good locations for homes.
As jungles are new people are searching them out for resources (like cats and the new wood blocks). A home here will see lots of traffic. And that's ignoring the suspicious sight of a jungle tree without vines.
As for strongholds, anyone searching for an end portal will be drawn there (and if they accidentally find the stronghold while mining, they'll explore it fully for all the cool loot).
Underwater is still an option, although making sure you have enough air to get in and out is necessary!
