Feb 10, 2013Alright, as it turns out I'm able to buy something at an estimated ~$1000, including a monitor if it's not possible to use my current compuer as one.Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
(Can be built, or prebuilt.)
Still just looking for one that can run TF2/Minecraft on a good fps.
Feb 8, 2013Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
It is a whole new computer.
I understand that the tower holds all of the components of the computer, but there are no pictures of a monitor. Would I have to buy a new monitor, or would it be possible to use my current computer (all the components of it are behind the screen, so it looks as if it's just a monitor) as a monitor?
I might be misunderstanding what you're saying..

So if I were to get that, I can hook it up to my monitor/cpu as if it were just a monitor? Also, it says windows 8. Does this mean it's going to upgrade my current cpu to windows 8, or what?

3 things. first, download and run speccy and post a screen shot
and pop the side off and look for the power supply unit, and tell us the wattage and brand (should say on side/top/bottom)
and lastly, is the computer a prebuilt? If so can you link us to the manufacturers' webpage on it?
It's prebuilt, http://www.newegg.co...N82E16883203427
Would you mind posting a link to one of those A8/A10 APUs? I tried searching it on Newegg but not too sure if I have the right results or not. (Also, as long as the total cost of this is about $600 or under I'd be fine)
Feb 7, 2013Hey, I know there are many people who know everything there is to know about computer hardware here, so I have a question about upgrading my current computer.Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
Basically I want to know what I should upgrade, and what I should buy to replace the old one with. (or whatever I should be doing with it)
(Games I play, in case that might change your reccomendation: TF2 & Minecraft.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Pentium® Dual-Core CPU E5500 @ 2.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset
Approx Total Memory: 1695 MB
(If you need to know the budget, my birthday is in March and I'm just asking my parents for maybe one or two things to add to the computer. Nothing too expensive, but good enough that it makes a difference from my current build)
If there's any other information I should post, let me know. Otherwise, thanks in advance!

Since you put something stupid as your location "in my chimney", we have no idea which currency you are talking about. usd? cad? aud? nzd?
Quote from Pandeh($100 or under would be nice)
Please note the enlarged character. EDIT:(as far as I know this means USD, and if another country uses it then my mistake)
Please read the entire post before making a witty response, randomly insulting me with opinions.
Aug 24, 2012Hello,Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
So I bought a computer (current one) about three or so years ago. On the games I like to play (tf2, minecraft) my computer likes to have lagspikes, or on tf2 most maps just decrease the fps to maybe 15 or something.
I don't really know anything about computers in this way, so I would appreciate if someone who did could point me in the right direction.
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor - Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5500 @ 2.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory - 4 GB RAM
Card - Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset
Oh and I don't really want the 'best' as much as something that could keep a stable 30-40 fps.(also, something $100 or under would be nice)
