posted a message on NoClassDefError with Railcraft
Update: I just copied this instance, and delete the Railcraft NEI plugin and the game now works fine. I still don't know how to fix this, though, and I think that I'll eventually need this plugin. Some help, please!

You can see my mod list in the report. I'm using MultiMC to install all these mods. I just recently added Thaumcraft, Railcraft, and Steve's Carts and all the NEI plugins. All the other mods are ones I used in an older instance that runs perfectly. I have no idea how to fix this problem, so someone please help!

posted a message on Cannot place torches on mod ores
I can't place torches on any ores in other mods. Specifically, I can't place torches on marble and tungsten from Red Power, Apatite from Forestry, and Copper and Tin from both of those two and Industrialcraft. I'm confident I also can't place torches on uranium, either.

This behavior also seems to happen on cobblestone found in dungeons. I can no longer place a torch on the cobblestone to disable the dungeon; I must add a block or remove and replace the cobblestone to stop the dungeon. I have no idea if this is a bug or not, but I'm assuming that it was planned.

I see that it is possible to place torches on generated blocks. I've seen Direwolf20 doing so in his Let's Plays.

I'd be willing to go into mod configs to fix this.

posted a message on Help with tons of mods; ModloaderMP problem
My mods seem to be loading now, however I still get an error. This one is much simpler, it looks like a blockID conflict.

Though I have circumvented ID conflicts before, it requires a lot of work and causes a lot of problems for future upgrading, copying instances, etc.

    Here is the crash report:

So something is possibly conflicting with RP2's logic and the 251 BlockID.

I also noticed in the report that it states that Auto Assign is disabled. Is this Auto Assign for BlockIDs, and if I were to turn it on, would it solve this conflict? If it would, how would I turn it on?

    Thank you for your help.

Test out all of your mods individually and see which one crashes.

    Quote from Pacman234

Will try soon, I still suspect some weird stuff between forge and MLMP.

Just tested the individual mods, the major standalone mods worked fine. I narrowed the problem down to Advanced Machines, an IC2 mod that adds machines similar to the induction furnace. I will now check the forum page for it here: http://forum.industr...d&threadID=1174 for the requirements.

I checked the page, and it doesn't state MLMP as a requirement. However, I have found what seems to be a more recent version of the mod by another author (who seems to have gotten permission from the original). The link for it is here: http://forum.industr...D=4907&pageNo=1
It says in the changelog in the version previous to the current that this author changed the requirement from MLMP to FML in Forge, so I will try this mod version instead.

I believe this may be the solution to my predicament.

To try to remedy this, I tried installing MLMP, both Before and after Forge. I get the Mojang sign and a white screen.

After this, I have tried many permutations of Forge, MLMP, Modloader, and a "compatability fix" for forge and MLMP linked here: http://www.minecraft...bility-mod-v18/

None of these permutations worked; I still get a white screen.

My uneducated guess is that the game-changing mods I have require both Forge and MLMP (Only Forge for some such as EE2 and IC2 and Only MLMP for others such as Battlegear).

Can anyone please help me with this predicament?

I play on lowest settings with Simplecraft texture pack (it might/might not be speeding the game up, IDC either way) and I get maybe around 20-30 fps when it's smooth. When it starts getting laggy, which is about 30 percent of the time, I'd say it drops to about 1-5 fps. Yeah, I know, my computer's beast.

posted a message on Bad Mining Moments
Ever have a really stupid mining moment?

Like a creeper blowing up your first diamond vein, or water pushing you into that stupid skellie?

Share your stories here, so I can laugh and forget about my story.

Speaking about it, here it is:

I just find that the cave I found is linked to the mob trap collection point I made. I decide to go clear the cave out of useful ores, and notice the redstone ore I walked on to go from my collection point to the cave. The redstone ore that was exposed had another ore right under it, and, predicting that like all the other times, I can just mine right below me, I look down, choose my iron pick, and left click. Then, BAM! "Ungh, ungh, ungh!" I hear my character yell, as the lava that just HAD to be there is slowly burning me out. Can I get out in time to switch to my inventory and choose my water? Of course not, because the Minecraft Laws HATE me. Even worse, I hear the sizzle of my diamond pick and sword. GARRRRHHHHH!!!!!!

So please, if you have an interesting story, put it here.

If boosters really only push a cart uphill for about 5 blocks, than I think that should be fixed. I dont WANT to use a booster every other track, and I personally think you shouldn't have to. Do any of you guys okay with the idea LIKE the fact that you would need all those boosters?

posted a message on I hate stats, what do you think?
It is totally your choice to participate in, or ignore, stats.

You say it puts in competition into Minecraft. That is only the case if you choose to participate in the totally voluntary race for high stats. You have an option to ignore it.

You say "Be original! Don't just say ignore it!" Well, I will be honest, someone not being able to just ignore something they don't like that barely interferes with the rest of the activity (you see a stat icon when you press ESC, whoopee!) makes me question their ability to have common sense. It's not being unoriginal, it's being sensible.

Certainly, don't get rid of it. There are not many other threads like this, and the Minecraft forums do not represent the majority of the players. Removing stats would make more people sad than happy, and for unnecessary reasons.

An option to turn it off would make sense, but ONLY if this idea was not prioritized highly. Many more things need to be added, changed, or removed from the game before an option to turn totally voluntary stats off.

TL;DR: First, get some patience or just skip it, no need to quote something and type "TL;DR".

Hating stats is not sensible, and stats being removed would make more people sad than happy.
