Using the new feature in 1.5, you can give an item a texture and an animation; I will see what I can do, it may be possible to halt the animation on the desired subimage (using a config), although you may have to use NBTEdit or Explorer to push past the other subimages without the animation stopping at them too
I would love to see this in Vanilla, and so custom map users would not have to use mods
I'll keep you posted
If this is possible it would truly make an adventure map much more intresting
Sorry to bother you so late after your post, but i seemed to have run into a problem. I put the filters into the folder, and when i go back they are still there, but they don't show up in mcedit. All i have are the default filters.
I followed those instructions and the filters show up inside the folders, but when i try to acces them in the program all i have are the default filters.
Are you saying, like, you could have 1 normal bow in your map, along with one punch II bow with a wind
bow sprite and one fire aspect II bow with a fire bow sprite, all in the same map, without mods? That would
be so epic!
Considering that you can modify the strings of playerheads to display different heads belonging to different players, I wonder if string modification is somehow possible with other items. I could be talking about an impossibility here, but I can't deny that it'd be very, very nice to have differing item textures. I'd support this idea in a heartbeat.
thanks for your aupport, and i will research your idea.
I have full support.
This feature would make firework making much easier and would return the same feel of using a block, like a furnace, crafting table, brewing stand etc., that minecraft has implemented.
