You sound like someone that if they don't agree with something, it's wrong. Your role here as someone giving advice isn't to shove a decision down someone's throat. It's to educate them about what makes computer A so much worse than computer B. Let them decide what they're looking for. Contrary to popular belief, building a computer isn't the best solution. Educating people is the best solution. I also don't understand why everyone around here assumes people will be overclocking. I would think it's best to go the other way and assume they aren't overclocking. If they don't come in looking to do it, I doubt they know what it is, and if they do, that they even want to do it.
I've got a Dell bluetooth mouse, a new Dell Optiplex 745 I got today. (No, it's not for gaming.) It runs Windows 7. When I go to add the bluetooth mouse, it doesn't see it. It's got fresh batteries. I've hit the bluetooth button on the mouse button multiple times. What should I do? I am currently borrowing a USB mouse from a friend.
My signature quotes you should not try to force someone to buy a certain computer. Asking for opinions is fine though, as long as you don't try to force them into getting a certain computer. (like every mac thread)
K. I thought you'd all say its a suckish computer. Thanks
Since "fanboy" is a subjective term to begin with, there is no definitive truth concerning if someone is a fanboy or not. What one person sees as a fanboy could be seen as perfectly reasonable by another.
I mean, personally...
You know what? I'd rather not get involved in this.
That would mean HDD was checked for errors and verification of files and sectors. If the HDD were failing, this could also be the reason for freezing or freeze and unfreezes. Given Minecraft does HDD quite often when reading chunks, that can make sense. To say, given the situation, HDD could be failing. When you repaired the machine, it likely has gotten networking settings incorrect, and network would need reset. However I cannot say, without actually being there myself and seeing myself. But Open Start Menu > Open Run > type CMD and hit Enter > in Command Prompt type in netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Does that work on Windows 7 Starter? (god knows what service pack I use) I have this old Windows 7 HP Mini computer. It's hella slow (it can take up to 20 minutes to open Google Chrome), and now whenever I boot it up it says the disk needs to be checked for consistency. I was getting into making videos so I just forked the money and bought a Mac a year ago and still use it today. (At the time I hated Windows. Now I'm not as biased.)
Google it, then. It's an awesome game where basically you start out in Windows 95. You pirate some software made by this guy named 12padams, find some of his hidden time-travel software, and eventually you accidentally destroy the entire Internet, and your computer (later when you have Windows XP from time traveling to Windows 98 and then to XP. I think Vista is somewhere in there aswell, but I believe it is still in development.) It is programmed in VB.NET and I just joined the new dev team. The original developer of the game is now at http://youtube.com/user/OSFirstTimer. He quit due to RSI. Anyway, I highly suggest playing the game.

Nope. As of 2010, jailbreaking in the US is now legal.

Would you be so kind to describe just how I "derailed" this thread, and how it is "blatantly" in my signature?

That'd be wise. Honestly though - never mind.

Have that opinion if you want. You aren't changing the truth.

I'm talking about built-in/company-made software. I've found it a hell of a lot easier to to edit on iMovie than Windows Movie Maker.
I'm not an Apple fanboy (believe it or not, just because someone may like an Apple product does not make them a fanboy). Just so I'm clear on that.

For gaming, the specs are garbage.
For what the Mac is made for? Editing? They're perfectly fine.
