I have got quite a lot on my mind that I need to put into writing, so I have decided to make use of spoilers where you could read until your mind blows up if you want, but merely skimming the post beyond the spoilers and then leaving a comment below would be sufficient.
I have played Minecraft since 2011 and have been part of a variety of different communities in this game, experiencing all that there is to it. Not only that, but I have gotten to know plenty of people throughout the years while playing, most of whom have grown up and taken on bigger responsibilities in life…. But not me, I am still here.
I can only speak from my personal experience, but I think most of my fellow Minecraft veterans would concur that if “Creative” is being used in the server you play on, the game becomes less and less entertaining. Hence, private SMPs! So I have spent some time looking around various forums trying desperately to find a new community to join after taking a much-needed break from the game, I have come to realize that the only 18+ communities that I have been able to find (or at least those that have been able to catch my interest) have already progressed far enough to where you would join and instantly get this feeling of being overwhelmed with the progress made, as well as being left to pick up whatever scraps you can find from a land already cleaned by previous players.
Thus, I came to the conclusion that the best approach would be for me to just begin paying for a server myself, given that it is not that costly, and that way I could create a community the way I saw the ideal one being. I currently live at home with my parents and my sister in order to save money, however, it is not like the current prices for fuel are letting me do that.

The Idea
I don't like the concept of me making all the decisions and deciding what is and isn't permitted on a server that should and will be entirely community driven. All decisions pertaining to the server (possibly with the exception of matters regarding costs) should be decided by us all.
I need you to realize that I want a place, a second home, to come home to after a long day of work, and I believe most of you can relate to that, but what is a home if you have no say over what happens to it?
I desire an SMP that serves as a haven of delight and benevolence for everybody, a haven of acceptance and collaboration, a place where we can all be happy no matter what is going on in our life… Dare I portray it as a place where we may actually escape reality for a while?
I intend on making use of various datapacks such as multiplayer sleep, graves, fast leaf decay and more, as well as both DynMap and Proximity Chat but yet again, these are all stuff that we will decide on together. With a pre-decided upon limit of players and set of rules, I believe the community will be more personal that a lot of those currently out there.
As of right now, the server is not up and running, but it will take just a few seconds to make that happen so I would like to gather a few players to begin with and then we will boot the server as soon as we all deem it to be a good time. I would like to get as many of our players on as soon as possible in order to make it so that we all start off on a fairly similar level in order to guarantee the best time for everyone.
