Why I, in my infinite wisdom and generosity, should let you in: When I'm on my single player world, collecting sand for the large dome I am building over my forest I often wonder to myself, wouldn't this be better with people I care about? After long thought and consideration I finally decided that a nice little vanilla whitelist server would be the perfect place for me. I'm mainly interested in NillaCraft due to it's active and friendly community and feel like it would be a good fit for myself. I am also a coder so that makes me special.

Have you ever been banned before? (If so, why?): Not on the new NillaCraft.

Have you read and do you agree to the rules?: Yes I have and I agree to all of them. To get rid of an ant infestation you burn your house down.

Here is a review on a budget build I have completed, I am happy with the results compared to the price.

Total Price: 526.96$ (Windows 7 is included in the price, if you have it already it will be less)

    Specs:

    Intel Core i3-3240 Dual-Core Processor 3.4 Ghz 3 MB

    Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz

    EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2048MB GDDR5 128bit

    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit

WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cach

    Minecraft:

This PC runs Minecraft very well, average of 400-500FPS on max settings and around 300FPS on max settings while recording, using HD shaders you can get around 90FPS recording. The graphics cards can easily render all of Minecraft graphics, most of the power comes from the processor loading all the chunks. Upgrading to an i5 can give you larger FPS and might be a good solution if you have the money, don't get me wrong the i3 works very well but for a little more you can boost your performance.

    Other Games:

This PC can basically run any game you throw at it on High/Ultra settings with very high FPS, so if your playing other PC games this is a very good build.

    Screenshots:

    Max FPS: (Not Using Optifine)

Thanks for reading, consider this PC if you are looking for a cheap upgrade.

posted a message on Mojang Announcement: EULA, and Servers

I despise this new system. I'll continue running my server as I always have. I work my hardest not to make 'pay-to-win' systems in my donation perks. I've always hated that style of gameplay, and have avoided certain servers like the plague in order to make sure I'm not affected by it. Yet, as somebody who has fought against that aspect of minecraft's community for 3 years now, I find that I'm breaking Mojang's new EULA.

    1. I refuse to charge players to access my server. You want to stop pay-to-win? Well, pay-to-win becomes an absolute when you completely cut out the ability to compete without money. Just because a server feels like they're pushed into a corner with your new EULA terms, thousands of players will now be unable to access the servers they love, due to the fact that they've changed to this new system.

    2. A purely donation based server won't last long. Even when ran well, it's hard to meet monthly payments and population demands when there's no incentive for donation. On top of this, there's absolutely no way to track and determine whether we provide perks after the "donation" has taken place. An anonymous chest of goodies appearing outside of somebody's house can't really be traced.
This 'rule' is just silly. It's like the standard "No Running In the Hall" rule. It's only there to attempt to push people into walking based on the fear of the very, very, very minor amount of people who actually get caught doing so.

    3. I'll just skip this bit about in-game advertisement. I don't think I have to go over why I don't plan to include this in my roleplay environment.

    4. Can't sell in-game currencies? Well, I sell creditpoints which can be used for cosmetics. Now, I'm well aware that it doesn't go against their "As long as it doesn't affect gameplay" tidbit, but just the fact that I can be 'reported' to Mojang for something like this is absolutely childish.

I think that last bit pretty much wraps up how I feel about all this. Childish.

I feel like Mojang is attempting to play schoolteacher with all its subjugates right now, and I don't appreciate it in the slightest. Whether I'm in violation or not, this sort of Big Brother behavior is completely and utterly unnecessary, and makes me want to avoid running a server.

You took the words out of my mouth.

    Quote from Rakanoth

Sigh. I'm not even going to bother tailoring a post to your topic. This is just the exact same counter-arguments being brought up against the exact same arguments brought up by different people who do not bother to read the other dozen existing threads, as well as the front page article on the subject. Have a recycled post instead:

If they stop in-game purchases, servers will be unable to run these large servers that can cost up to $10,000/month to keep them online. Without donations these servers will die and so will the player base.

Woah, there are too many threads like this around lately. I understand your frustration against the new rule change, but I don't really think that is the case..
I don't really know, but i think there's multiple reasons.

This is just like the "anti-trolling" rule all over again, I do belevie we may be misconieiving this slighty.

But it is very obvious that Mojang is against in-game purchase of perks and it trying to do something about it.

Try turning bobbing off, this removes the player model from moving side to side.

This could be very effective if he has issues with the GUI moving around the screen.
