Not to be rude or anything but does anyone else think that this thread needs to be closed or locked for the time being. Risugami has not been on since December 30, that's half a year now since this mod has been updated.
Just like the others said this is such a good idea, but just adding one ability like this is not enough for a new addition to Minecraft. There would have to be other abilities added too, usually when you implement a feature you want to implement other abilities too so there's not just one. These abilities could be learned either from experience at random or you could for instance find book in the world that gift the player the ability. For instance, some of the abilities could be like the ones from MCMMO: the ability to mine faster based on total amount of blocks mined per player, an ability that allows the player to cut down trees in one swing, or an ability to catch fish at a much faster rate based on the amount of time a player has spent fishing.
Since it is a driver problem you can probably just reinstall the driver software. It may work or may not. I've had to do this for other games so its hit and miss.
Do what he said, but use a command block to force blindness on the player. The command block can be set to allow infinite blindness.
About the void fog, like you said it was removed by the devs. This was mainly to increase performance. You can still achieve the same effect through blindness though.
1. If your running windows, search for a program named "run", once the program is running, search "%appdata%". This will take you to wear the minecraft directory is and open the folder, then open the saves folder, if the file is still there than it might be corrupted.
2. If corrupted I would recommend trying to open the save file in McEdit. Its a handy and free-to-use Minecraft save editor. That's might be your best bet to see if its the game or the save file that is corrupted.
It could be the command block thing. If you're using essentials it could be /nuke but I doubt that's it because you would've seen in the chat "May death rain upon you" or something like that.
Is your server running vanilla? The only thing I would recommend is to check the logs and make sure that nothing is spawning the TNT, but I think you can only check the logs with a bukkit server. Other than that, do what omodtcat said.
Yeah, that should be easy with the NBT editor, haven't tried it though.
You can always try the manual way which is explained on the Minecraft Wiki:
Regional difficulty is a variation in difficulty calculated based on several factors, including the “inhabited time" of the current chunk, the total play time in the world, the phase of the moon, and the current difficulty setting. The current regional difficulty is shown on the Debug screen as “Local Difficulty".
The “inhabited time" of a chunk increases for each tick a player spends with the chunk loaded. This is a cumulative measure of time—if 50 players spend a single hour in a chunk, it counts the same as if one player spent 50 hours there. The effect of inhabited time on regional difficulty is capped at 50 hours. Total play time in the world also contributes to regional difficulty. This effect doesn't begin until after the first hour of play time, and is capped at 21 hours.
If the chunk is not buggy it should max out again. Test and make sure that the local difficulty can change.

That is just a generating bug, although they are rare they can still happen, not all coding can be 100% perfect.

The problem with Minecraft for you is very simple: you are missing OpenGL or it is corrupted.

Probably, your best bet would be on McSchematics.
